Troubleshooting Cisco SG220-26P

Hi,
I'm having a strange behaviour in a new bought Cisco SG220-26P. It's connected with multimode fiber transceivers SFP MGBSX1. I've multiple packets with errors in Interfaces Statistics. Changed transceivers, cables... First I thought it was some bad cable but i saw that the transceiver port also have packets with errors. This switch is connected with another CISCO SG300-10SFP and there're no package errors on that switch. Only in the Cisco SG220. The errors are not only on the fiber port. Also many ports have Packets with errors. I'm a bit confused.
I've done:
- Changed transceivers
- Changed cables
- Changed fibers (i've 12 fibers) and still generating packets with errors.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks!

At the command prompt on a router its possible to start a password change request over TACACS to the ACS server.
I think you enter an empty password twice as I recall.
This can cause problems if users change their password on a "slave" ACS which is then replicated to from a "master" thus setting the password back to its pre-changed value.

In a Cisco Press publication "Troubleshooting Cisco Secure ACS on Windows" (http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=474238&seqNum=6&rl=1), I read the following question:
How can I disable the users' option to change the password by using Telnet to access the router?
It has an answer describing certain details. However, the question itself is not clear to me. Could someone explain them a little more clearly?
    Thanks.

    Hello Nick,
I appreciate your questions, and will try to answer them below.
When you are installing a fresh new MeetingPlace 8.5 that you plan to integrate with WebEx, the only available option is WebEx Managed user profiles. With this option, you can either create profiles manually on WebEx side, and then sync them to MeetingPlace, or you can use Federated SSO for import of profiles from LDAP server in your network to WebEx, and then sync the profiles from WebEx to MeetingPlace (you choose one of these two options when provisioning WebEx site).
These are the only two available options for a NEW install of MP8.5 for WebEx integration, and as you can see both options are WebEx Managed profiles, the only difference is if you are going to use Federated SSO, or create profiles on WebEx manually.
During the install, you can select to install MeetingPlace managed users option, but you would choose this option only if you plan to do a migration from an earlier MP release (7.x/8.0) with WebEx integration and Directory Integration.
For example, MeetingPlace managed profiles option is available if you had MeetingPlace 8.0 integrated with WebEx Type II (WebEx scheduling) with Directory Integration, where you had your MP8.0 integrated with CUCM via AXL for user profile management (CUCM integrated with LDAP), and your WebEx Site provisioned for Directory Integration, and then migrate from that system to MeetingPlace 8.5 that you installed selecting MeetingPlace managed user profiles.
The same goes for MeetingPlace Scheduling (Type I) integration with WebEx. Possible only with migration, and not with a fresh new installation.
Now, to focus on your questions.
    1. As you can see, you don't have many options. If you have MS Active Directory that you would like to use for SSO in MP8.5 WebEx Scheduling, you will have to go with Federated SSO. So far, I haven't heard of any issues with that as it seems to be pretty straight forward to configure, and also WebEx Support team provides direct support for that setup as it is a direct integration between WebEx Site and the LDAP server (nothing to do with MeetingPlace side of the equation).
    2. In general, if you have Federated SSO enabled, you would go to WebEx site home page, click on Host Log In button which will then ask you to enter your network/windows credentials and place you to WebEx scheduling interface.
If you have Directory Integration (like on MP8.0 WebEx Type II with CUCM/AXL integration), when you go to WebEx site home page and click Host Log In button, you are being redirected to the MeetingPlace log-in page where you would enter your Windows credentials (assuming your CUCM is integrated with LDAP), and then if log in is successful, you get redirected back to WebEx scheduling interface. With this type of deployment, you can log in to WebEx scheduling interface ONLY if you are connecting from your company network or have a VPN connection to your company network. This is a major limitation that most customers complained about, but the reason for this was that we didn't want to make MP Application server hostname/IP publicly available and hence cause a security issue.
I am sure I answered your questions, but opened some new questions. So, please, let me know if I need to clarify anything.
    Thank you.

    Hi Anthony,
    Thanks for the question.
This is an interesting requirement, since the UCCX trigger's configuration is translated only to the Call Forward Busy External setting on the CUCM.

As you would aready know, the UCCX will send an AXL request (within the SOAP envelope) to the CUCM to create this RP. Looking at the existing code, there does not seem to be a method where we are differentiating between CFB_internal and CFB_external while sending this request.
We have taken this as an enhancement request and also spoken to the business unit about the same. It has been added to the roadmap, we will reach out to you offline to understand the business case so that the process can be expedited if needed.

  • Troubleshooting Cisco 1900 Switch

Does anyone know what 'Input error' on Ethernet interface between router and switch mean?

    Hi
In the firstshot would suggest to check the following.
1.Cable connected between the router and the switch .
    Try to replace and check
    2. Speed or Duplex mismatch
Mite be auto on either in switch or router, try to hardcode the same and check.
These are the few possible reasons for the input error counter to keep on increasing.

Cisco SG220-26P (24 PoE, 2 SFP), or maybe Catalyst Series (2960S / 2960X - 24 PoE and 4 SFP). SG and Catalyst also support PoE+.

Hi.. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a 24 port Full POE switch the has SFP ports? Preferably managed (best features / price). I will be using it for Wireless AP's and Surveillance cameras. Thanks. Bill

    Hi Marcelo,
Yes, there are some requirements for certificates in Expressway.
    Expressway Core (Exp-C)
    - Can be signed by either External or Internal CA
    - Better to use a cluster name even if you start with 1 peer in Exp-C cluster. In the future, if more peers are added, changes would be minimal.
    - Better to use FQDN of cluster as CN of certificate, this way the traversal zone configuration on Expressway-E won't require any change even if new peers are added to Exp-C cluster.
    - If CUCM is mixed mode, include security profile names (in FQDN format) as Subject Alternate Names
    - The Chat Node Aliases that are configured on the IM and Presence servers. They will be required only for Unified Communications XMPP federation deployments that intend to use both TLS and group chat. (Note that Unified Communications XMPP federation will be supported in a future Expressway release). The Expressway-C automatically includes the chat node aliases in the CSR, providing it has discovered a set of IM&P servers.
    - For TLS b/w CUCM, IM-P & Exp-C
+ If using self-signed certificates on CUCM, IM/P. Load Cisco Tomcat, cup, cup-xmpp certificates from IM-P on Exp-C. Load callmanager, Cisco Tomcat certificates from CUCM on Exp-C.
+ If using Internal CA signed certificates on CUCM, IM/P. Load Root CA certificates on Exp-C.
      + Load CA certificate under tomcat-trust, cup-trust, cup-xmpp-trust on IM-P.
+ Load CA certificate under tomcat-trust, callmanager-trust on CUCM.
    Expressway Edge (Exp-E)
    - Signed by External CA
    - Configured Unified Communications domain as Subject Alternate Name
    - If using a cluster, select FQDN of this peer as CN and FQDN of Cluster + this peer as Subject Alternate Name.
    - If XMPP federation is being deployed, enter the same Chat Node Aliases as entered in Exp-C.

  • SG200-26P not powering three access points.

    Hello,
I just purchased a Cisco SG200-26P to power three Ubiquiti UAP-LR-3 UniFi AP that are going in a new small network. I added the three AP’s to port 1, 2, and 3 and they are not powering up off the POE switch. I got into the switch and I don’t see anything that stands out for them to not power up. The AP’s work powered up with POE injectors.
    Thanks,
    Minitrucker007

    Hi Minitrucker,
SG200-26P is 802.3af compliant but from what I manage to read Ubiquiti UAP-LR is not 802.3af/at compliant, correct me if I am wrong as I did not really find the datasheet for your specific AP.  This would mean that the AP would need the injector or specific switch rather than any. As it uses non standard PoE.
    Regards,
    Aleksandra

  • ACS loses connection with AD occasionally after upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3.0.40

ACS had been integrated with Active Directory before ACS upgrade to 5.3. After the ACS 5.3 upgrade users aren’t able to login to AAA devices occasionally. Error message is:
    {AuthenticationResult=Error; Type=Authentication; Authen-Reply-Status=Error; }
24429 Could not establish connection with Active Directory
At the same time, when this issue occurs, ACS connection to AD works fine (checked with Users and Identity Stores> External Identity Stores > Active Directory “Test Connection”)

I had the same problem, I opened a Cisco TAC case and my issue was resolved.

Subject: RE: 622739355 HelpDesk#SVR328332-2 : Troubleshoot Cisco ACS 1121 v5.3 With Windows Active Directory
    Hi Ramraj,
Thanks for the link to the article, but from what I’ve seen in the logs I’m not sure that we’ve got the same root cause to the issue.
From the ACSADAgent.log files I can see log messages like:
    Aug 11 11:10:56 CSSC-TPM-DC-ACS-1 adclient[5524]: DEBUG network.state NST: SniffList: postfailsort=mykulad11p.cssc.dksh.net
Aug 11 11:10:56 CSSC-TPM-DC-ACS-1 adclient[5524]: DEBUG base.kerberos.adhelpers Encryption (id 1) is not supported by KDC. Try next in the list
Aug 11 11:10:56 CSSC-TPM-DC-ACS-1 adclient[5524]: DEBUG base.osutil Module=Kerberos : KDC refused skey: KDC has no support for encryption type (reference base/adhelpers.cpp:216 rc: -1765328370)
Aug 11 11:10:56 CSSC-TPM-DC-ACS-1 adclient[5524]: DEBUG base.adagent Unable to refresh computer credentials: KDC refused skey: KDC has no support for encryption type
This lines up with the error message that we see in the TACACS+ Authentication logs:
24493 ACS has problems communicating with Active Directory using its machine credentials.
I have come across a NETBIOS limitation (it’s not an ACS bug, but a bug has been filed for tracking and documentation purposes) that prevents two ACSs from being connected to Active Directory at the same time if the first 15 characters of their hostnames are the same. The bug ID is CSCtj62342 and its externally visible details are available here: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtj62342
The hostname of the primary ACS is : MYMY-TPM-DC-ACS-1
The hostname of the secondary ACS is: MYMY-TPM-DC-ACS-2
From the hostnames, we can see that the first 16 characters of the hostnames are the same. What this means is that once the primary is connected to AD, after some time passes (this will depend on when the secondary goes an talks to AD) the secondary will lose its connection to AD and any authentications hitting the secondary will fail with the same error: 24493 ACS has problems communicating with Active Directory using its machine credentials.
To resolve this issue, the hostnames of the ACSs will need to be changed so that the first 15 characters of their respective hostnames are not the same. Please keep in mind that this is a NETBIOS limitation and not a software bug.

  • ISE: dACL to switch

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out the syntax for dACL to a switch running 12.2(55)SE7.
In the switch we have used the following static ACL:
    ip access-list extended TEST
    10 permit tcp 10.88.0.24 0.7.255.7 10.0.0.2 0.3.255.0 range 1025 2000
It is to limit so only some source IP can access some destination IP on those ports. Now we want to use it dynamicly so that the ACL gets donloaded to the switch when a certain device connects the port.
I added it to ISE like this:
    permit tcp 10.88.0.24 0.7.255.7 10.0.0.2 0.3.255.0 range 1025 2000
But that doesn't work. However, when I change the source to any then it works:
    permit tcp any 10.0.0.2 0.3.255.0 range 1025 2000
By not working I mean that I see the dACL being downloaded, then the port state is Authz fail and after 1 min the device reauthenticates.
Why does it work with source any?
    Regards,
    Philip

    Hello,
check if the IOS version and hardware platform (switch) you're using  is mentioned in TrustSec document (page 6):
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Security/TrustSec_2.0/trustsec_2.0_dig.pdf
The minimum IOS version to use with ISE should be 12.2(55),  but generally it's better to use 15.x.
Also, check if you have  configured everything that is recommended for switch devices in TrustSec  (page 59), including "ip device tracking".
There's also a very nice  document for troubleshooting:
"Cisco  TrustSec How-To Guide: Failed  Authentications and Authorizations"
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/solutions/collateral/ns340/ns414/ns742/ns744/docs/howto_81_troubleshooting_failed_authc.pdf
If it  doesn't work, can you post the output of  the following commands after authorization:
    show  authentication session interface
    sh ip  access-lists interface
    show running-config  interface
    show access-list
    sh  ip access-lists
