Troubleshooting: my dreamweaver keeps crashing (class tomorrow)

first I wanted to change the colours on my Dreamwaver cs6 installed on my Macbook Pro. I didn't like what I did so I tried to change it back (making a mess) I have the same Dreamweaver cs6 on iMac so I just copied my 'ColorCodeing' folder from configuration, put it on a hard drive, pasted it into my configuration folder on my Macbook pro so that I would have all the folders it started off with from the beginning. Now I try and open my dreamweaver and it keeps crashing. I feel it is having a hard time re-linking even though I made sure everything is exactly in the same place as it should have been.
Help me please, I have a PHP class tomorrow.

What happens when you undo your addition using the backup you created before overwriting your configuration files?
No back-up?
You will probably need to clear the config folder all together or restore preferences, going back to the default install.

If you recently upgraded to Yosemite, re-installing CS5 may be necessary.
First, deactivate CS5 from your Help menu.

Dreamweaver keeps crashing

My DW CS3 keeps crashing whenever I try to open a page with
asp database driven content in it. If I try to view the page in a
browser, it works fine. It's now happening to any page no matter if
it has been open recently or not opened for years!
PHP pages and basic html pages are fine and open without
trouble, it's just the asp pages with database content. Any ideas
as to why it's happening? Any solutions would be greatly received.

Dreamweaver keeps crashing each time I try to delete something in the css file. Please help!

This has been going on for a few days and I can not get anyone on the phone at tech support - or on chat! I've got a huge site to finish and I can't make any changes - what can I do?
I did notice that I suddenly have 2 Dreamweaver apps - the old DWcc and a DWcc 2014. Could they be tripping each other up? The crash happens in both programs. Argh!!!

Extremely sorry for the crash you are seeing. Which OS you are working on ? Please share the crash logs as well.
+ Please maintain the back up of your preferences and then clean preferences from below location and then try working on Dreamweaver.
On win : C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC 2014
On mac : ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CC 2014/
The two apps you are seeing are two different version of Dreamweaver. If DW CC was already installed on your machine, it will stay there even after installing DW CC 2014.

To download the installation files, go to this link:

You will need your serial number to activate the product and also make sure before you re-install the product, you have deactivated it by going to:
Help >> deactivate
Sometimes when you uninstall the product, it will try to deactivate it automatically but you can't rely on this because your internet may be offline.

Dreamweaver CC Crashing Constantly

I have an open case with Adobe trying to troubleshoot why Dreamweaver CC crashes immediately. They have escalated the case. However, they continue to bill me even though I for services I cannot access. I have asked them to cancel my account, but they will not. Has anyone had this problem with Dreamweaver CC.

My iphone 4s with the ISO 7.0.2 keeps crashing, i can barely use it as a phone. Going to switch to samsung tomorrow!!!!

Ever since i upgraded to the newer ISO 6 and above my iphone 4s keeps crashing!
I can barely use it as a phone, emails keeps crashing, crashing halfway during calls and even candy crush wont open!
I was so upset to hear that the only solution was to 'purchase the newer iphone 5c or 5s to fix this problem' as you cannot go backwards with the ISO.
I have always been loyal to Apple, but it seems such a shame that a piece of perfectly good hardware is now made obselete due to its software and the inflexibility of the company.
This is environmentally unfriendly and just a big corporates money hungry way of hitting targets and satisfying its stakeholders!
Apple if you want anymore of my money in the future, you better fix this problem.
Maybe Samsung has a better solution to my phone issues.....

There is no need to purchase a newer iPhone. The 4S runs iOS6 and 7 perfectly fine.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Dreamweaver CS5 keeps crashing in OS Yosemite is there a fix?

When I am in Dreamweaver and inserting images it keeps crashing. Example I have a 5 x 5 frame and have sliced my photo in photoshop into 25 separate pics to make for a faster loading page as I insert each pic, periodically the program just crashes. Is there a fix for this problem?

Goto System settings network --> options --> WLAN/Wifi --> change your Wifi to top
Find out which DNS is best for your Wifi by installing and running namebench (Link: https://code.google.com/p/namebench/)
Change your WiFi DNS to that result (Goto System settings network --> options --> DNS --> DNS-Server)
Last (wait to) install OS X 10.10.2! I'm using the beta and that fixes the issues on my old router.

Dreamweaver CS5.5, v11.5, Build 5366 keeps crashing with Mac OS 10.7.5

Dreamweaver CS5.5, v11.5, Build 5366 keeps crashing with Mac OS 10.7.5. This started a few weeks ago. Dreamweaver crashes at random time so I cannot pinpoint one thing that causes it. It just crashed as I was trying to adjust margins in a style sheet. I have tried deleting preferences and reinstalling the software. Both worked for a day or 2 and then the crashes started again. I'm at the point now where I have to save after every change so I don't lose them…but that isn't allowing me to experiment before saving. This is very frustrating. Were there any releases beyond build 5366 or v11.5? When I check for updates, I am told that my software is up to date.
I have no idea what to try next.

When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW. Be sure to turn on hidden files & folders in your Mac Finder.

Dreamweaver CC keeps crashing!!!
Randomly, Dreamweaver CC pops up error message.
"Adobe Dreamweaver is not responding" with 3 option.
1. "Check for solution and close program" or 2. "Close program" or 3. "Wait for the progeam to respond". I selected the "Wait" option a couple times. Waited for over 15 minutes and it never recovered. The best option left was to "Check for solution and close program". The program closed and I lost all my unsaved work. This happens all the time. At least 2-3 times in a 6 hour session. About 6 pages open and doing nowing out of the ordinary. Long time Dreamweaver user.. Nothing much else running in the background. 6 month old laptop and it used to happen on my last laptop.
I'm only working with standard html files with arial font, not {}, not Fluid Grid, and no media queries is css.
Been working on this for over 6 months. Thought CC would get it fixed. The msvcr100.dll is the original version. Double checked. Been deleting the DW cache regularly..

This may be yet another “Broken Brand”!
I feel you Alaska !!! I feel the same way. I think this Adobe is over it’s head in understanding this cloud technology. They jumped into it making all sorts of fallen promises just wanting our $49 per month.
You can’t believe how much work I have put into trying to help them fix these problems
I’m now afraid to make any changes to my sites using Dreamweaver in fear of another malfunction resulting in messing up an entire site. Last time it crashed I had to reattach the template to 200 pages - one by one.
I don't understand what the people at adobe are thinking.

In this instance, I spent over 6 hour following adobe specific technical directions on how to capture all the log file they suggested I configure to capture the crashing problem I am continually experiencing. Afterwards I forward an Adobe technician the log file with to response or fix.
Then even worst, I spend more time capturing more logs (because it is now crashing daily) and fully outlining my PC environment and configuration, and sending more log files only to have my emails be rejected.
Now I'm fearing Abode will just cancel my account for posting these complaints.
But what's a developer to do. I have over 20 sites dependent on this software.
I'm definitely looking at solutions that are less dependent on DW functioning correctly.
Drupal is currently looking like a good solution.
I manage over 20 sites for local customers and it would be a tremendous amount of work but living with DW always crashing is unacceptable. And who knows if the next versions of DW will not experience the same problems. I think they need to spend a few extra dollars and hire some better software engineers. I don't think they quite know what they are doing with this new cloud services environment.
I thinks Google’s top new secret "Cloud Website Development Kit" might end up being a better solution. I think it's going to be married to Google Webmaster Tools. That's the direction and reason for all the recent rapid Webmaster Tools improvement in the web performance tools site.
Google.. Gota love them.. They seem to always get it right ad fully understand the future of the cloud.
Bottom line: These design tools like DW and PS should be out of the box dependable. Continual crashes with 100’s of complaints is totally unacceptable.

Dreamweaver MX keeps crashing

Hello,
I used to use DW MX on my "old" G4 Mac and it worked great. I
know it's old. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro using Leopard
and tried to install the DW and it keeps crashing. I'm really not
into designing websites any longer and really hate the thought of
paying the big bucks to upgrade but I do need to access my websites
for minimal maintenance.
Is there an inexpensive alternative for me? And is the
crashing of MX due to the fact it can't run on Leopard?

H gave you the right answer BUT he didn't explain it very well! I never "backed up" or "restored", so I wouldn't know what he was talking about either! But now I do:
If your Apps keep closing (linked with or without Facebook): Go to a desktop or Laptop computer only and log on to iTunes and delete the App (like Jackpot Party.) that keeps crashing.
Then you have to plug in the device you are using that the apps crash on and use iTunes to restore your iOS device back to factory settings. ( After you sync and back up your device to iTunes!)

After restore, go to iTunes store and download the App again ( if it was a game, all levels/coins will still be there!)

Dreamweaver CS5 Keeps Crashing

Everytime I open Dreamweaver it crashes.

OS Version? Home Premium
Error message? Just says Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 has stopped working. A
problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the
program and notify you if a solution is available.
Anything else running? no
Patches installed? Yes I installed a patch today.

dieing in XP. This is something brand new - it was working fine.
When it happens:
When I have multiple files open and I search through all
files.
Large files (they won't even open, though I can copy and
paste the 60K lines into DW directly).
Highlighting multiple lines - holding down shift and hitting
the down key (works OK with mouse).
Any ideas?

I found that DW CS3 ran very poorly with just 1 GB of RAM,
while this may
not be your problem, it may be contributing to the error. I
had been running
with 2 GB of RAM with good results, but when I upgraded to 3
GB's I saw a
marked improvement in stability.
