Troubling reinstalling after uninstalling iTunes

When I experienced some problems with iTunes, I uninstalled it. Now, even after I made sure I uninstalled all possible components, files, etc., I'm having trouble reinstalling it. When I go to the webpage where you download iTunes, I click on the download button fine... and every time, it instantly says "Thank you for installing iTunes." The problem is, I do not have iTunes. I can't find it anywhere on my computer. What is going on?

I am not sure exactly why this happens, you have to go to a separate site for the download and something on your PC is blocking it.
Maybe check ad block and pop up blocking?
Anyway assuming that downloading in general works, you can get iTunes from file hippo.

I have to say I have never used file hippo to download iTunes myself.

  • Error Message even after Uninstalling ITunes

I am getting an error message that says "The procedure entry point sqlite3preparev2 could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll. Even after uninstalling ITunes from my computer. Can anyone help me fix that?
    Thank you in advance.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • ROM drive dissappears after uninstalling itunes

I downloaded itunes so I could buy an album (I could only find this album in the itunes shop) and after buying it, trying and failing to burn the album to CD I gave up and uninstalled itunes in disgust. The DVD-ROM drive icon is now gone from explorer and won't reappear whatever I do. I can't even reinstall the OS (Windows 2000 pro) as the computer thinks the drive dosen't exist. I looked around online and think something called a rootkit maybe to blame that was probably in the music files as some sort of anti piracy device. This rootkit may have been affected by some other software on my PC and deleted something somewhere (yeah I know, pretty vague). I've tried everything I know including registry repair, re-installing the drivers, putting a new ROM drive in, even re-installing itunes all with no luck. Has anyone else heard of this? Please help me.

I too had this happen to me when I installed i-tunes on my PB laptop (NEC DVD drive). I found the answer on the Packard Bell support page, Try this Link

  • Trouble reinstalling after Windows xp crash

I have recently bought the upgrade to PS cs4 and installed it over my cs3 version. Shortly after this windows crashed & I had to reinstall windows XP but I can't seem to reinstall PS cs4 I get a 1605 message. If I just try to run the old program which still on my C drive the program opens and then I get a 147:20 message sayiong I have to reboot(w/o success) I would uninstall ps, but the program won't let me get as far as being able
to deactivate it. Thanks for any help!

That's how it's worked for me when I've had a crash and it was installed on two machines and a hard-drive crashed so I didn't have a chance to deactivate. One time it happened, it picked the wrong machine and I had to activate Photoshop on that machine, again, and it deactivated the real one that crashed. Another time it picked the right one. Perhaps it choose the one used least recently rather than activated least recently, but I've never had to call Adobe about deactivating after a crash.
Perhaps it works differently, now. The bottom line is that you should not have to worry about deactivating Photoshop just to be able to install it, again. The worst that can happen is you have to call Adobe and have a discussion about what happened and have them do it.

  • CS3 Design Premium will not reinstall after uninstall in VISTA

I booted up my system and had a system update message which I allowed to load (Vista Service pack 1). When I launched CS3, it said it had problems and to uninstall and reinstall it. The cd removed the software, but only loaded Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and Shared components, all the others had the message "Component Install failed". I loaded the Adobe Support Advisor and it came to the following conclusion: Issue no: id18309
Error UninstallColorProfilesRollback occurs preventing the installer from updating existing color profiles when installing the Adobe Creative Suite 3 product. I tried all the suggested fixes listed in the knowledge base, nothing works. I submitted a trouble support only to be told that it would cost me money for Adobe support. Any suggestions?

I believe I answered this in the InDesign forum.

  • I can't reinstall or uninstall iTunes.

I tried installing the new iTunes this morning (Windows 7, 64-bit) but I got the same error everyone els has regarding the Apple Mobile Service.
However, I can't uninstall, reinstall or repair my iTunes, nor can I go to Computer > Manage > Services settings because it tells me that I cannot start the Apple Mobile Dvice as I get this messge:
Windows could not start the Apple Mobile Device service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have turned off my anti-virus and firewalls but no difference. I have been trying for over an hour already.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • My iPhone and iPad synced fine to my computer this morning using iTunes 10. After uninstalling iTunes 10 in the recommended order (bit by bit in the order suggested by Apple) and installing the proper 64 bit iTunes 11, iTunes no longer recognizes either.

The cord works fine, as it synced fine this morning. The computer works fine, as I have other USB drivers that have no installation issues. I have no major firewalls or security software in place. Literally the only thing that has changed is my version of iTunes, which was installed perfectly.
This, by the way, is not an isolated incident. Every attempt I make to upgrade to iTunes 11 goes the same way, and the utter lack of a satisfactory response by every Apple tech support I've gone to has been frustrating enough to make me consider ditching my Apple products, exclusively supporting their competitors, and recommending that my friends and family do the same.

i hade just the same on my pc with windows 8.1 and iTunes 11.1.4. I could sync over Wi-Fi but not over USB.
i did the following: remove "iTunes", "apple software update", "apple mobile device support" and "apple application support". then download iTunes new and install it. After installation all removed software should be back again.
Try now iTunes - it solved the problem on my pc. greetings eddych

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro: How to reinstall after uninstall?

    Hello:
If I uninstall Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0.6, so as install Adobe Reader 9.1.....How would I be able to reinstall
the Adobe Acrobat at some future point?
The Adobe Acrobat  Pro came installed with the PC, and I don't see the installation file for this program?
    Where might it be located?
    Thanks in advance:
    -Eliuri
    Windows XP Pro SP3
    Adobe Acrobat 6.0.6 Professional Edition

If you wish to reinstall Acrobat Pro, you'll need to remove Reader 9.1 first using the Windows Install Clean Up Utiltity. Then reinstall Acrobat Pro.
Adobe recommends that you NOT have both Acrobat Pro and Reader on the same system. These programs share many filenames and resources and and step over each other such that neither product works as it should.

    package iTunes.msi " Thank you .

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • HT1926 error writing to file:C:\Programfiles\iPod\bin\iPodservice.resources\nb.lproj\iPodServicesLocali zed.dll. I get this message when trying to install the newest version of iTunes 11 after I uninstalled iTunes to try and fix a sync prob on 4s. any Sug

While trying to reinstall newest version of iTUNES 11  (on win7) after uninstalling itunes in hopes of resolving a sync issue with iPhone 4s.  It asks to verify that i have access to above file so i hit retry and it pops sqme message up instantly.  I hit cancel and it rolls back action and asks to finish install. I confirm and it tells me that Errors occurred during install before itunes could be configured.  Then it says system has not been moddified. to complete the installation run the installer again.  I have done this many times and get the same result..... Any suggestions for me?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
