Trusted Full Screen Interactive

I am working on a flex based app which frequently goes into Full Screen mode. The recent Full Screen Interactive mode is awesome. But is there a way to keep the 'Allow' popup from coming up every single time it goes to Full Screen?
ps. On a completely unrelated note, having access to the traceback in the release version of the player is pretty cool!

The danger with interactive full-screen is the potential for creating convincing UI for phishing attacks.  We tend to go conservative on that kind of stuff.  We'd rather keep you safe and over-communicate than vice-versa.
It's an interesting feature suggestion though, and I can definitely see how it would be nice for a game you play all the time.
The best way to get traction on it would be to file a feature request (and get some votes) over at http://bugbase.adobe.com/
Thanks!

  • A smarter full screen interactive

It would be great if the full screen interactive mode was smarter. It gets very tedious when within a single app/game the user is constantly switching back and forth full screen mode,
There must be a way to make it smarter and less tedious without compromising security.. I am throwing out some suggestions:
    1. Provide an option to 'Always allow Interactive mode for this site' (or domain).
    OR
    2. Provide a checkbox option to 'Always allow Interactive mode for this session'.
    OR.
    3. Within a single session automatically allow the interactive mode for the current swf if the user already accepted once.
To see what I mean try it here at Lee's website:
    http://leebrimelow.com/flash/fullkeys/
Go to full screen mode. Accept. Esc to leave full screen mode. Try going to Full screen mode again. Why is does it need to ask again for my permission? It already asked me once.
I added a feature request a couple of months ago and it was withdrawn.
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3366434
I am starting this dicussion again, because I am certain that the runtime folks can improve on this..
..and a last point. For reference, Chrome solves this in a pretty elegant way. It provides a pull down menu with 2 options. 'Ask by default', 'Always allow on this site'

While we get that the full-screen notification is annoying in the context of some games, it's there for your protection (and as a response to actual real-world security incidents that happened over the years in various products, including Flash).  You'll see similar behavior in other browser plug-ins and HTML full-screen content.
    Imagine this grossly over-simplified scenario:
    - You go to a game site supported by ads from a third-party ad network
    - A malicious actor creates and injects a malicious ad into the ad network, and it shows up on your game site (again, real-world example)
    - You're playing your game, and your phone rings.  It's your cellphone provider and you forgot to pay the bill.  They want to take a payment over the phone before they turn it off.
    - You tab out of the game and fire up your bank's website to check your balance.
    - The malicious ad noticies that you've gone to yourbank.com, and quickly fires up a full-screen window that looks exactly like your browser, displaying the homepage of your bank's website. (That the ad "notices" this action without some other bug in play is a stretch, but useful for illustrating the point.)
    - Everything looks normal.  The SSL lock icon is there, and the address and website look sane.  You type in your credentials.
    - Instead of going to your account info, you get a "we're sorry, but we're down for maintenance" message.
    - Some kid in the Ukraine gets a new dashcam and a jet-ski.
In reality, there are layers of mitigations along the way that would make this really difficult -- but the motiviation for displaying the full-screen window in Flash is because there's no way to know 100% for sure that the full-screen content is going to be legit.  It's a security-in-depth measure.
So that dialog exists basically to say "Hey, if this looks like your web browser, something is very wrong.  Hit Escape to get back to reality.".
The best way to get around this would be to encourage the game publisher to also offer the game as an Adobe AIR application.  It's basically a desktop version of the Flash game.  This removes all of those concerns about what crazy stuff third-party sites can do, because you're operating in the context of a desktop application (where the content you encounter can generally be trusted) vs. the open web (where you should trust very little).

  • Chrome, Mountain Lion and Full Screen Interactive Mode

I'm running into an issue when entering Full Screen (Interactive) Mode-- long story short, the Message and "Allow" button are over-magnified and don't appear on the screen for me to click, thereby making it impossible to use other keystrokes (and see certain things in the interactive game window t'boot).
This issue does not exist in Snow Leapord on an older machine, though the same updated versions of Chrome (and assumedly Flash Player) are at work there.
Any suggestions on something I can tweak-- or even a work-around/hotkey for Allowing FSI Mode?
The actual game screen itself is fine, albeit slightly cut off around the edges.

Man, do you have Sophos antivirus? If that so, you need to uninstall it the right way:
For Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 7.x , go to Macintosh HD|Library|Sophos Anti-Virus.
    Select 'Remove Sophos Anti-Virus.pkg'.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE, if you are running Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 4.x, the path in step 1 is Macintosh HD|Library|Application Support|Sophos Anti-Virus.
It seems that Sophos antivirus is crashing ML. They have an update but I'll wait some time becuase I've really had a painful time these days.

  • Full Screen Interactive Images?

Apple's video demo of the interactive images widget  (as seen on this page: http://www.apple.com/ibooks-author/gallery.html ) shows the image opening full screen when clicked. I cannot make this happen. The 'full-screen' option is always disabled in the widget editor, and all interactivity occurs within the confines of the page. Any idea how to make iBooks Author deliver the result shown in this demo? Thanks.

When you place your 'Interactive Image' Widget onto your page...when you Preview/View on your iPad simple pinch to fully zoom the 'Interactive Image'.. TAP the X in the upper left to close full view mode.
I suppose you would think a double tap would bring you to full screen mode...but that could be a bad feature for interactivity where readers don't realize its interactive or a static type image.
    Hope that helps.

  • Mail does not scroll while in full screen!

When on full screen mail just ignores the fact that there's more stuff (text, pics...) in the email and does not scroll down. No bar on the side, no scrolling with arrows, touchpad or space bar is working. When I bring it back to a smaller size or just open the email in a sparate screen it works OK.
Not a huge issue, but an irritating one, wonder if this is happening to anyone else? and if anyone has a good fix to it?
    Thanks

the release notes say it has issues in non-interactive mode,
    I'm using doing :
    stage.displayState =
    StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE;
Is there maybe something else I need to set to full screen
interactive? I know I saw somewhere that the person was setting the
htmlLoader's stage to full screen interactive. I tried that but it
    did nothing.
I have the window style set to "system chrome". I tried
transparent and no flash sites worked(full or normal screen) and
opaque worked the same as system chrome.

  • Full Screen + Html + Flash Issues

Hello, I have an Air app that will be running in Full screen
interactive mode. Inside this app, I have an html control that is
setup to view a page of mine that contains a flash file. The flash
file is setup to fill the page and runs great in ie and firefox,
but when i run the air app, the screen flashes and jumps all over
the place and is very glitchy, if I bring it down to less than full
screen it returns to normal, then glitches out again when i
maximise...what do you recommend I check out with this odd issue?
The following url is my flash page link:

    Thanks!

    Hi,
SWF content in HTML has some limitations in AIR as mentioned
    in the
    AIR
release notes. But this seems to be a new issue.
If you can create a minimal sample that reproduces the issue,
it would be great if you could submit a bug report at

  • Impressions of 11.6 full screen nuisance

I think Adobe is going the wrong way with that obsession around the "Full Screen Permission Dialog". It is something disrupting, intrusive and bothering since it was first implemented. I'm sure many, many users said it should NOT appear every single time fullscreen mode is opened. Now you add it as a fat BIG box in our face?! What's happening there?
Why we don't need that dialog every time? Simple: because not being able to use full keyboard in fullscreen does not prevent the app from being used in any way. Furthermore, sometimes when we need to toggle fullscreen very often it is a great nuisance.
I'm a multi-threaded user and I toggle programs very often, I go to and out fullscreen very often. "Full Screen Permission Dialog" is a monolithic approach.
It is not a useful dialog like UAC of Win7 is, it does not mean extra security or anything. It just mean: "You can use your keyboard when on full screen". Doesn't it sounds like Captain Obvious talking?
Bug: Move mouse over the topmost pixel of the screen and another unnecessary screen is displayed saying I'm on fullscreen (Thanks Cpt. Obvious!).

Adobe shuts down for a couple weeks at the end of the year for the US holidays.  We only have a skeleton crew around for mission-critical work.  We're all just getting back to work and caught up on mail.
The full-screen interactive keyboard dialog exists as a mitigation to phishing sites that would otherwise be able to create convincing spoofs of the entire browser chrome, SSL lock icon, etc.  This isn't as big of a concern when keyboard input is restricted to non-printing keys, but becomes a serious threat when full keyboard input is allowed.
Adding a per-URL user preference to suppress the dialog is a reasonable suggestion, although the potential for content hijacking is a little scary.  Consider the scenario where an attacker pops your machine and replaces your game SWF with malicious content.  If your users were instead presented with a convincing Facebook login screen, for instance, and they did not see the full-screen warning because it was suppressed, it would probably fool a lot of people.
It's definitely an improvement to the end-user experience and reasonable feedback that we've seen echoed a few times already in this forum, but we can only implement it if we can do it in a way that's safe, even in the event that the content is specifically designed to be malicious.
I'll pass your feedback along to your product management folks.  I'd also recommend that you file a feature request over at http://bugbase.adobe.com/ and post a link here so that people can vote on it.  Requests with large volumes of votes carry a lot of weight in terms of how we prioritize new work.
Just to set realistic expectations, because of the potential risk with a feature like this, once the work was scheduled and completed we would subject it to extensive internal testing.  We'd also bring in third-party security auditors to review the final code and design, and penetration testers to exhaustively test it before we would consider shipping.  This is a lengthy process, and not something that will be resolved in a few weeks.

  • Interactive rollover function isn't working in full screen mode.

I've created an interactive document with animation in Indesign CC.
Part of this document has menu bars that change to longer bars when rolled over. I export as an swf and then place that in a separate document to export to pdf. When I open it in Acrobat Pro XI everything works correctly...until I make it full screen. The text and images look fuzzy and low res and the roll over function on the menu bar doesn't work. Unless you click and drag over them, not hover.
    Things I have tried:
Changing the document to A3, as it is currently A4 - no change.
Changing the resolution in both flash exporting options and interactive pdf exporting options. I've tried 72 dpi, 96dpi 110dpi (to match the acrobat settings) - still no change.
Have tried both multi state object method of changing the menu bar and a show/hide function - This hasn't made a difference either.
I've had a flick through Acrobat settings but I'm not sure what I am looking for.
The buttons used with the roller also have a on release or tap function to go to a destination as well as the rollover option. I'm not sure if this button having multiple actions might be affecting this as it seems to have no problems handling multiple interactive actions when not in full screen.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Jodie

    Hi,
I would like to inform you that you need to use keyboard shortcut V to bring up the select tool (Ctrl-V does not work).
Also, you may try pressing the F8 key to un-hide the toolbar.

  • Interactive pdf video full screen

I am designing an interactive pdf with videos, I have the controller set to do full screen, but it isn't working? How do I fix this?
    I am using CS5.5

So I made a bit of progress on this, if you right click and then you have the option of playing the video in a seperate window (which can be made fullscreen) or directly fullscreen but I dont like that you have to right click it, if it took me this long to figure it out no one will ever bother to full screen the video
they will just see the button"doesn't work" and move on.

  • Interactive Images - Way to Block Full-Screen?

The way I see it, Interactive Images are useful because they dont' require a large area of the screen to zoom in and see crisp graphics and descriptions. So when I set my images up, set the views for the "embedded sized" viewer, it all works great. But as soon as I attempted the "reverse pinch" to expand the widget on the iPad, the quality of the image goes way down. Is there a way to either: specificy different view settings per item in both embedded and expanded view, OR a way to shut off the full-screen version of the Interactive Image widget?

Hmmm... IBA will scale down images if they exceed the resolution of the device, but will otherwise not compress them, as far as I know. I don't have a good suggestion for you, other than to somehow get higher resolution. One option might be to, instead of using an interactive image widget, to use a gallery. When taking your screenshots, size up the window as large as possible, take the screen shot, and crop to 1024 x 768 (or something near that size). Then show the full screenshot in one image in the gallery, and the close-up in another.

  • ID CC 2014 - interactive pdf - video full screen?

I just finished an interactive pdf with some videos inside. The videos work fine except I need them to open in full screen and cannot find any process to do this.
    Any help?
    thx
    RD

In my experience, here's what I have encountered. I have inserted various video formats within Acrobat. You can assign playback controls for video, like play, stop, mute, etc. but not for full screen. You can also set the video to play on page or play in floating window. The floating window when activated, can be stretched to the full screen. But, there is no button to maximize screen automatically. I have had no luck with inserting a swf file with player skin.

  • How do I make a Full screen button in inDesign for interactive PDF?

I posted this question in the inDesign forum and someone told me to post it in the Acrobat forums.
I would like to make a button in inDesign to give users the option to view a PDF at Full Screen. Much like the button the inDesign Magazine PDFs have.
    Thank you for any help!
    Best,

How do I add a Acrobat button to my inDesign button? I created a button in inDesign with a rollover feature and I want to preserve this feature in Acrobat. Can I apply some type of "invisble" button in Acrobat with a Acrobat JavaScript action?
    Thank you!

  • How do I make full screen button for interactive PDF

I know in Acrobat I can set the PDF to open in full screen mode. I want the PDF to open in normal view. There will be a full screen button. Click once and the PDF expands to full screen. Click again and the PDF reverts to normal size.
I wasn't sure where to post this but figured this is the place to start. Any advice on how to do this appreciated.
Here's a movie of a PDF that has the feature I'm seeking:
    Full Screen Normal Screen button
Was testing the link and I see you need QT Pro to download. Here's a zip archive of the same movie for download.
    Movie Download

The client (a woman's club) indicated that about half the women found the full screen annoying and the other half found normal view annoying. So I made it an option. Also, most PDFs I receive such as ID magazine have the option to view normal or full.
One thing I haven't figured out is how to get the page you're on to be highlighted. So if you go to page 5 in PDF, I would want the button for 5 to be highlighted in red. I ended up using page numbers but would like to be a bit more streamlined.
I received a PDF the other day and at the top when the page numbers and left/right arrows are, the page numbers read
    FC, IFC, 1, 2, etc.,
IBC, BC. I thought that was pretty cool. I imagine it has something to do with pagination in ID. Have to see if I can figure that out.
