Trusted sites

I want to add a trusted site. How do I do that?

Firefox doesn't have "trusted sites" like internet explorer does. Are you trying to work around an error here?

  • I was told by Borders customer service that I have to add them as a "trusted site" to avoid an error message when sttempting to use the shopping cart. Is this true, and how do I do it?

When I go to "checkout" on Borders.com, I get an error message. The message is as follows:
    [ServletException in:/ConsumerDirectStorefrontAssetStore/ShoppingArea/ShopcartSection/body.jsp] null'
I have tried refreshing, clearing cookies, and everything I can think of. Customer service told me it had to do with security settings, and that I had to add it to my trusted sites. I have never had to do this before, so I'm jsut wondering if this was true, and how to do it.

Are they multi-function units? Do they include a scanner? Most people call these multi-function copiers, not printers. Printers don't have a scanner in them.
Give us some specifics as to the brands and models you have tried.

  • Error: "We're having a problem opening this location on file explorer. Add this website to your trusted sites list and try again"

    Hello,
When i try to open document library from SharePoint Production portal then it throws the specified error. However, when i open document library from SharePoint Development portal then it opens it in file explorer quite easily.
Production portal is on https whereas development portal is on http. Also, UAG has been configured on production portal.
Any idea where it's getting stuck up? Surely, this is not a browser issue on Windows 7 as it's opening the development portal's document library on the same machine.
    I've also done following things:
    - Configured Desktop Experience on production environment
    - Installed the hotfix for Windows 7

    Hello Sohaib.
Here is the list of causes defined here.Hope it helps you
The cause and the resolution methods are the following:
Cause: There is a missing Root site collection...
Resolution: Check and ensure,  that the “Managed Paths” are not changed in the web Application’s page, there is a (root) explicit for
this web application and there is a working Root site collection.
If for any reason this is not the case in your environment, you may try the following:
    - Apply (if not already) the following Hotfix to one of those clients:
Error when you open a SharePoint Document Library in Windows Explorer or map a network drive to the library after you install Internet Explorer 10 in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2846960
Then, try to delete the cache of the IE browser before reproducing the issue. Check the result..
    - Try to temporarily disable the Antivirus and test again.
    - Check if you have installed the Desktop Experience feature on the SPS13 server.
    - Check if you face this behavior with all users, Or only with some specific ones, Or with all different client OSes..
Otherwise you will need to collect the logs to further analyze...

  • Add Trusted Sites by GPO and allow the user to edit / add Trusted Sites manually.

    Hi All
    Greetings for the day....
I have task to add a few Sites in Trust zone, Where I am succeed allowing them by GPO. As user requested to allow him to add Sites to add / edit manually. When I applied the Security Zone : Do not allow user to add sites to disabled , but it not allowing.
    IE options greyed out.
    Need your valuable expertise.
    J D Tech Guy........

    Hi,
On local machines, this setting will be grayed out and users can’t change it, if we configured the setting from the following node:
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel > Security Page\
    Site to Zone Assignment List
However, we can try using GPP Registry to deploy the setting, for this will allow users to change the setting.

  • How do I add a trusted site to FIrefox? Is there a list someplace that I can update? This is not a Java issue (ie. being able to run Java on a trusted site)

I'm working at another company's site on their secure network. They use Microsoft's ShareCenter as a collaborative work environment and have told me I need to add their domain names (....company.com) to my list of trusted sites in Firefox in order to open the pages for their work environment.

hello live2ski, "trusted sites" is a concept of internet explorer that doesn't exist in firefox in this form, so i'm unsure what their instructions would be referring to.
you can edit certain permissions of a particular domain while you're on that page, right click on a blank spot and go to ''view page info > permissions''...

  • How can I add a trusted site in Safari to access our secure Sharepoint site from the internet?

My company has a secure sharepoint site that we access from the internet that requires our Active Directory logon. The Safari on the iPad does not allow you to add the URL as a trusted site and thus it prompts you for your username and password multiple times when navigating to various content.  The solution for full blown browsers is to just add the URL as a trusted site in your browser security settings.  Is there a work around for this or will Apple perhaps add this capability to add trusted sites to the mobile version of Safari?

Non-Windows browsers do not have a concept of a "trusted" site. In Windows, IE and Chrome do not repeatedly prompt for credentials because they use the user's login credentials on the desktop. Other devices do not have this capability. Instead,
you need to use something like ADFS to authenticate users.

  • On a propritary web site I use, I get an error trying to upload a document; in IE I can solve this by adding the site to the list of trusted sites, how do I handle it in Firefox?

    The error message is
    Server Error in '/' Application.
StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex
I can avoid the message in IE by adding the site to the list of trusted sites.
How do I accomplish the same thing in Firefox?

First, you should be receiving email notifications of any reply; you haven't because there haven't been any. Second, should you be able to access that website? Have you done it before? Occasionally, I've gotten a similar message from websites I frequent but trying later will often clear the problem. Other times, I've gone to websites I really don't have permission to access and the website knows it. Also, you might try another browser, such as Firefox or Opera.
Finally, if you mean the Birchmere Music Hall, I get the same error message, and if Ticketmaster needs to access that website for ticket and event dates, it can't get through either. I'd suggest waiting for whomever handles the Birchmere website to fix it, or call them on the phone.
BTW, it's not a good idea to put your email address out for all to see. If you can still edit the post, delete it.

  • How do I get rid of the "Allow" button that pops up sometimes even on trusted sites?

The "Allow" button pops up many times while in a trusted site. It is annoying and does not happen on my other computers. If I knew how to get rid of it, I would.

You should update Firefox to the current version 16.0.1 to avoid known security issues. You appear to be using Firefox 14.0.1:
*If you choose, you can download the full current installer here - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Is it the "Allow page to reload or redirect" message?
*To disable that, click Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Advanced, in "General" section, un-check "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
Other - You need to check and update your Plugins

  • How do I disable "this connection is untrusted" I visit the same web site mutiple times in a day visit I get this same error, these are trusted sites within my work

How do I disable "this connection is untrusted" I visit the same web site mutiple times in a day and every visit I get this same dam error, these are trusted sites within my work environment. This is getting really old, and I am thinking that I should just uninstall, which is a pity becuase I do like firefox

Okay, before you copy 'n paste canned responses, you should read the post first.
'''The date & time on my computer is correct''' I've already checked this.
'''I don't give a damn why the site is untrusted''', I probably know why in fact (behind corporate proxy server).
As for exporting a known good certificate from another browser, sure good idea, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried exporting from IE, Firefox did the import without complaint, but it still complains. At any rate, I don't care about that. '''I just want to permanent disable it for ALL SITES for ALL TIME'''. Is that too much to ask for?
Judging by the number of posts on this topic, apparently I am not the only one complaining about this.

  • Allow/Block dialog comes up even when sites are in Trusted Sites and/or Intranet sites.

I have an issue where a user is prompted with an "Allow or Block" dialog everytime she clicks a link within a company created PDF.  The links all go to intranet sites, which are defined in the intranet section, and even placed in tnhe Trusted Sites as well.  How can I stop this dialog from popping up each time?
    Software versions in play are:
    Acrobat X
    Windows 7
    IE 9
    TIA for any assistance.

    Please be more specific.
How are the servers defined in the Trust Manager and the OS Internet Options Control Panel?
    http://mycompanyserver.mycompanyname.com
But does the link in the PDF file look something like this:
    http://mycompanyserver/pathtothePDFfile/thePDFfile.pdf
If so, then Acrobat and Windows are probably not seeing it as the same server.  The FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) is not defined as the same server.
The same would be said for a server that had "https://" in front of the URL.  It's not considered the same server because it exists on a different port number.  Usually 443 for https.

  • Setting Security in Internet Zone to High affects Trusted Sites

In response to the recent Security Advisory, we recommended our users set the Internet Zone security to High.
However, this is causing our local Intranet site which is in every users Trusted Sites Zone (set at Medium-Low) to not function.
I was under the impression that Trusted Sites are treated different than Internet Sites.
What security settings do they share that would be affected by setting the Internet Zone to High?
    Thank you.
    Jeremy Leigh

    Hi
f12>Console tab, refresh the page to show suppressed error messages, warnings, blocked content warnings.
A 'High' security zone settings is equivalent to the Restricted Zones default setting.
by default Active Scripting, scripting of ActiveX and applets and xss is disabled in the Restricted Zone.... basically domains mapped to the Restricted sites zone will be useless without active scripting.

  • How do I add a trusted site?

I need to know how to add a trusted site on my firefox for andriod phone.

I have a secure site that requires specific settings. It wants me to allow ActiveX and add it to my trusted sites.
This is a site that I use for work. Normally I use IE at the office but I have been told that it should work with firefox as well.

  • Trusted Sites GPO only works for administrators

I've got a major problem and was hoping somebody could help me.  I've got a hundred users or so that connect to an RDS Farm. The RDS farm is made up of several Windows Server 2008 R2 servers.  One with IE 10 and the other with IE 8.
The problem that I'm having is if add sites to zone assignment in group policy and add sites to the trusted zone it will only work for users that are administrators.  I found a reference to this problem and the issue being IE Enhanced Security, but
    Enhanced Security is turned off.
If I'm a normal user with Remote Desktop User rights and I go into IE and check Trusted Sites, there is nothing there.  If I login as administrator and check I can see all the trusted sites.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hi Cyprus,
Please check if you have the computers or users needing the policy are in a group that is specified. Remember that domain users includes all users, domain computers includes all computer, and authenticated users includes both users and computer. By
default, a GPO will be scoped to Authenticated Users.
Also please run gpresult command on non-administrator user to check if it sync to client successfully.
In addition, I suggest you ask Group Policy forum for more professional help:

  • Can't publish to SharePoint natively: trusted sites issue?

I'm trying to publish an RH 10 project to SharePoint using the Multiscreen_HTML5 layout. In SharePoint (Native), I selected the 2007 version option because 2010 wouldn't work. The publish process goes all the way through until I get "Publishing has been cancelled. Access Denied. Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites list, ..." Of course the whole site is already in my Trusted Sites list.
Is there something I can do on my end, or should I bother my SharePoint admin about this? I think it has a problem adding .aspx files.

    Hi Willam,
I can't really tell what version of SharePoint we are using. I'm uploading to our new Office 365 portal. I manage to upload most of the files to the target using the SharePoint 2007 option; there is no authentication in the layout profile for that version.
I get nowhere using the 2010 version. If I use a mapped drive to the target in the SharePoint Site field, I get the error "Value does not fall within the expected range". If I use the URL to the site I get "The remote server returned an error (403) Forbidden." I used my credentials for getting into Office 365.
Does RoboHelp 11 have support for Office 365?
