Try to access contacts from BB desktop software (PC)
My BB Bold died and I am trying to get my contacts from desktop software from a backup file. I was told o needed to connect another BB cell to get the info. I have BB Storm and connected it to the PC...what do I do next?
Hello,
There is more than one way to deal with your situation...
From what you were told, you indeed could restore to the Storm:
KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file
Then configure to sync to a compatible PIM:
KB12268 Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows
KB03315 How to setup organizer data synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Software
Or, you could find a PC app that can extract the data from the backup file, avoiding the use of another BB entirely. There are several, and you can find them quickly via your favorite Internet search engine, and many are free.
Good luck!

i have a ipod version 1.1.5(4b1) when i try to access itunes from the ipod it says cannot connect to itune store
Hello dawn2020,
I would suggest this article named Can't connect to the iTunes Store found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368.
Troubleshooting on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking on Check for Update in your device's Summary page in iTunes.
Check and verify that you are in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you are on a 3G capable device, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to 3G, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Check to make sure you have an active internet connection. You can check the User Guide for your device for help with connecting to the internet.
Check to make sure other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router
If the issue persists, see troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Note: All iPhone, and iPod touch models support 802.11b/g Wi-Fi networks. In addition, iPhone 4, and iPod touch (4th generation) support 802.11n Wi-Fi networks (2.4 GHz only).
And if needed there is a more advance troubleshooting article named
iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting

I have Adobe Photoshop CS4 and have just upgraded my Mac operating system to Yosemite with the newest version of Java 2014 running. When I try to access Photoshop from Bridge or directly open it asks for a Legacy Version of Java 6. As I am a pensioner I cannot afford an upgrade does anyone know of a work-around for this problem?
Hi Daddyfred,
CS4 Photoshop has not been tested on Yosemite. But still you can try the Java 6 update using the below link.

Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums. -

Move contacts from Palm Desktop to Cell??
I've got a non-responsive Centro which I've taken to Verizon for trouble-shooting. In the meantime, I plan to use an old LG for a couple of days. Does anyone know how to move contacts from Palm Desktop to the LG?
Unfortunately since it's two different operating systems you will not be able to transfer your contacts to your Lg device. However, it might be possible to do an address book transfer in the store from your Palm to your Lg.

I just got my first mac pro and I can't get the photos out of iPhotos and move them on my hp external hard drive, I try export says unable, then I try to drag it from the desktop to the external hard drive but same problem. what to do? Thank you so much
How is your external drive formatted? Use Disk Utility to check the volume format. If it is NTFS, you will need to reformat the HDD as exFAT in order to retain universal compatibility (RW to it on both Mac and Windows).

I try to import contact from sim card, but could not do, can any one help?
i try to import contact from sim card, but could not do, can any one help?
Either the contacts were not actually stored on the SIM, the SIM memory is defective, or they are in a format not useable by the iPhone.
Go to one of your carrier's stores. Most carriers have equipment that can do this, see if they can extract them for you. -
Can't Change, Add or Remove Outlook Contacts Folder in Desktop Software
I’m using version 7.1.0.41 of the BlackBerry Desktop Software. I recently created a new updated PST file in Outlook 2010. When I looked at the BlackBerry Desktop Software Contacts Configuration by going to Organizer, then Contacts – Microsoft Outlook: Configure…, Advanced Options: Advanced: Folders, I saw that the Desktop Software had defaulted to the default Contacts folder in my new Outlook profile. This wasn’t the Contacts Folder I had been using with my BlackBerry Curve 9320, so I chose “Select different contacts to sync”, double-clicked on my new Outlook Profile at the Root Level then selected the Contacts Folder I had used previously.
I found I could not use the Green Add button to add this folder and I couldn’t use the Red Remove button to delete the existing Main Contacts file. If I double-clicked on the Contacts folder which I wanted to use, the correct file path showed under “Select different contacts to sync”. However once I clicked OK and then returned to the Advanced Options, I found that it had reverted back to the original default settings.
I did notice that Outlook’s main Contacts file which I don’t want to use has a “Contacts” icon while the contacts Folder I want to use has only a generic folder icon. Under “My Contacts” in Outlook, however, all my Contacts files have the same icon. If I try to sync now, the Desktop Software wants to add all the contacts from my main Contacts group to my BlackBerry, which I don’t want. This all worked just fine before I updated my Outlook PST file.
Thanks for your help with this.
Solved!
Go to Solution.I've now resolved the problem. I had an email folder name "Mobile Contacts" which was causing me to use the wrong path. I needed to open the folder with the Contacts icon to get to the next level down where the Contacts folder I wanted to use was.
I couldn't add, remove or delete the folder I was attempting to use because it was actually an email folder, not a contacts folder. -
Suggestion: contacts editing in desktop software
As I have masses of contacts, I want to be able to easily get at them.
Android have lots of neat ways to make it easy to search, but my new Bb Torch does not.
Unless I'm missing something, there is no really fast way to scroll through contacts - Android gives you a fast scroll button on the screen for this.
Editing contacts is a nightmare - they are all lumped together - whether they are either email or phone, they are still in together. They may have come from different address books, ported from gmail etc.
Can't see a way to merge contacts - where one has an email and one has the phone numbers for example.
It would make life easier to have a function on the desktop manager allowing the editing, merging etc of contacts.
Also, a fast scroll button for the device itself.
If there is anything already out there that could assist, please let me know.
Thanks
MiguelHi and Welcome to the forums!
"Automated" merging of contacts is always a tricky proposition...the decisions to be made during such a merge are often beyond the ability of computer code to handle. The human brain is capable of extremely complex evaluations and decisions, with variability in the results on the fly. Computer code simply can't do such things (at least not yet!).
Further, RIM has made an intentional decision to not provide an editor as part of their Desktop Software. Rather, they provide a conduit capability to various popular desktop Organizer applications. This KB discusses those that are compatible:
KB12268Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows for synchronization
Hence, the thing to do is:
1) Choose, obtain, and install a desktop organizer from the compatible apps
2) Conduct a 1-way synch from the BB to the desktop organizer
3) Reconcile the data (manually) within the desktop organizer
4) Re-synchronize to the BB and all should be well
Good luck!

Hello,
I have installed multiple 3-rd party applications on my phone through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. I am attempting to remove certain applications from the list.
Here is what I experience:
I click on Applications icon. BBDS communicates with the phone and then displays a list of native applications. I click on Install/Remove button. A list of third party applications are displayed. I de-select an application and the hit Start. The phone is restarted. I can confirm that the application is removed from my phone, however, the application name is still displayed under Install/Remove applications. I even clicked on the app and highlighted the application but there is no option to remove the app from the list. When I click on Edit the delete option is disabled. My goal is to remove the 3rd party application from the list completely. Please help!
Here is my system information:
System: Mac
OS: 10.6.8
BlackBerry Desktop Software (Version 2.3.0 (build 12))
My phone information:
BlackBerry Curve 8530
Carrier: SprintHi Bessick

Can you access contacts from calendar
Hi I would love to be able to access contacts when entering an appointment in calendar, I mean it makes sense doesn't it , well to me anyway , your more likely to make an appointment in calendar with someone you know? And if you know them they are likely to be in contacts? So why not be able to create a new appointment and simply add all the details with one touch ie address mobile email etc I currently look up the person and copy and paste details but that's a faff!
Any ideas ?
RichardI have same issues and I am still with Snow Leopard.. I am terrified to switch to Lion or Mountain Lion due to the fact I will lose all my Word documents I have created for many years. I have been with apple since the 80's I worked for them when the mouse was developed... It has far surpassed me I can't keep up anymore. icloud will not work with snow leopard and my iphone has icloud. my software won't keep up with any changes either, nor my printer. Everytime I let the computer add new updates something else goes haywire. My apple id, my passwords etc. I'm on fixed income and can't afford to keep up, does this mean I will lose all my pictures, documents, and sooooo many other items I have created over the years. I miss the good old fashion put a picture in a scrapbook to keep it. Now I have to save and print out everything I create in a document or risk losing it. I will become a hoarder of paperwork in order to save all my documents and writings that I have done and collected over the years.... Does anyone out there have a suggestion or solutions for good old me.... What good does it do to put things on a disc if you are unable to open them because your software can't read them anymore. PLEASE someone help me.....
