Try to download Maverick, stopped a d says 3 incompatible files,an error has occurred

Tried to update to Maverick, have MBP,10.8.5,after a while a message came up,an error has occurred, three incompatible downloads.Cannot restart or remove the downloaded portion of Maverick. Many thanks.  i Photo 9.5.1,Pages 5.0.1 and Numbers 3. are named incompatible programs.

I dont understand your question.
While the download progresses, it does not check for software. Only after you run the installer.
The installer goes into your apps folder and can easily be removed.
Start over.

You need to reinstall the App Store.
Use Lion Recovery to do that.

  • HT1926 When i try to download itunes during installation it says something about a fatal error and closes down. how can i fix this?

i have had itunes downloaded on my computer before but the computer had to be repaired becuase it had viruses and now i cant reinstall itunes. whenever i try to install it again something pops up that says a fatal error has occured or something like that. does anyone know how this can be fixed?

the older version of bonjour could not be removed
Let's see if we can make some progress with that one first.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Whenever I try to sync my iPod touch, it tells me that an unknown error has occured. (error no. 13019)

I need help! I want to sync up my ipod, but it won't let me. I recently got a new computer and transferred my music through homeshare. Some of my songs from my old computer don't show up in my library on my new computer (which is actually slightly older than the other I was using). Ever since my new computer, I have been having problems with syncing, but it hasn't been this bad. I can't add or delete songs from my iPod anymore. It says the problem is that this computer is not authorized to transfer certain songs, but when I try to authorize my computer, it tells me that this computer is already authorized. The error number that keeps popping up is 13019, if that helps. Thanks!

  • When I try to download Mavericks from OS X Uilities, it says "this apple ID has not purchased Lion", will it work it I buy Lion code from Apple ?  Thanks

I have erased my drive and when I try to download Mavericks from OS X Uilities, it says "this apple ID has not purchased Lion", will it work it I buy Lion code from Apple ?  Thanks

By OS X Utilities, do you mean Recovery? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718
Can you explain exactly what you did to erase the drive?
And, which Recovery were you in, regular or Internet? (internet recovery starts up showing a spinning globe).

  • When I try to download Mavericks OS from the App store, it says "waiting". The download process doesnt actually start. How can i fix this?

when I try to download Mavericks OS from the App store, it says "waiting". The download process doesnt actually start. How can i fix this?

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select Mountain Lion. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • When i try to download mavericks i can't . it said that i need at least 2 Go of memory but i have a lot. What to do?

when i try to download mavericks i can't . it said that i need at least 2 Go of memory but i have a lot. What to do?

Also, if you really do not know or sure of what you are doing,
Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. Then, use either OS X Time Machine app to backup your entire system to the external drive OR purchase, download, install and use a data cloning app, like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to make an exact and bootable copy (clone) of your entire Mac's internal hard drive.
This step is really needed in case something goes wrong with the install of the new OS or you simply do not like the new OS, you have a very easy to return your Mac to its former working state.
Then, determine if your Mac meets ALL minimum system install requirements.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space
    Next,
If you run any older Mac software from the earlier PowerPC Macs, then none of this software will work with the newer OS X versions (10.7 and onward). OS X Snow Leopard had a magical and invisible PowerPC emulation application, called Rosetta, that worked seamlessly in the background that still allowed older PowerPC coded software to still operate in a Intel CPU Mac.
The use of Rosetta ended with OS X Snow Leopard as the Rosetta application was licensed to Apple, from a software company called Transitive, which got bought out, I believe, by IBM and Appe  could no longer secure their rights to continue to use Rosetta in later versions of OS X.
So, you would need to check to see if you have software on your Mac that maybe older than, say, 2006 or older.
Also, check for app compatibilty  here.
    http://roaringapps.com/
If you have any commercial antivirus installed and/or hard drive cleaning apps installed on your Mac, like MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneUoMyMac, MacCleanse, etc. now would be a good time to completely uninstall this apps by doing a Google search to learn how to properly uninstall these types of apps.
These types of apps will only cause your Mac issues later after the install of the new OS X version and you will have to completely uninstall these types of apps later.
Once you have determined all of this, you should be able to find the latest version of Mavericks by clicking on the Mac App Store icon in the OS X Dock and then login to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID and password.
You can then begin the download and installation process of installing OS X 10.9 Mavericks from the Mac App Store.

  • When I try to download songs from itunes it says I have to answer my security questions(which i made a year ago) I can't remember them, and I can't get on my email to reset the questions.. please help ASAP!

I recieved an ipod 5 for a early christmas present a day ago, I already owned an ipod 4 so i just used my info from that ipod as a back up for my 5g. but now when i try to download music from itunes it says i must use my security questions (which i made over a year ago) I can't remember the answers and i can't get on the email that it sends the reset info to. i don't know what to do and its really frustrating. please help ASAP!

You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.
Whichever method you use, you probably won't get a response until the 26th. If you absolutely must make a purchase before then, create a new Apple ID; you won't be able to transfer previous purchases or iTunes Store credit to it.
