Hope someone can help me please I am fairly new to more than the basic elements of photoshop. I am using 'Actions' to create a e-book cover and had my design created but when I pressed finalise iget the error box - The command Merge Visible is not available with two boxes continue or stop Clicking on either box produces no results. My query how do I cure this please, I also notice that in the layer detail menu all but the background layer have disappeared.
I have taken back steps and re-entered layers with the same result.
Forgive my ignorance I am a silver haired surfer who was told it was easy to create e-book covers in photoshop.

Sorry that I did not make it clear what I was trying to do. Using Photoshop CS3 I have added a suite of small programmes called photoshop actions, what they basically do for old guys like me is take some of the technical apects out of some tasks such as creating e-book covers; Software box design; 3d button design etc.
I was using one of these add on programmes to create an e-book cover and went through each step of the programme successfully creating layers for each part, when I came to click on finnish it should have created an e-book cover image but locked up and presented me with this error regarding the merge visble section not being available.
I do not know if this makes it any clearer for you or anyone else, forgive me if it doesn't. If you can help I would be grateful

When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
Creating a new User-Account and log into this
This forces iMovie to create all pref. and cache files new and error free
Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
a Codec is used that doesn't work (even though iMovie and/or iDVD tries to / they fail in the end)
version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
USB-flash-memories - usually do not work
Net-work connected hard disks - usually do not work (most often not fast enough and WRONGLY FORMATTES as DOS etc)
iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie. When iMovie starts-up it first look trough this iPhoto library and if faulty it all Halt’s.
This You do by
First - close iPhoto
Secondly - on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
Thirdly - now select all five options presented
THEN - WAIT a long long time (>20 hours are not strange)
free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
Screen must be set to million-colors
Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

At present this feature is not included, although I believe it may be in 4.0. Many people have provided workarounds for this. None of which I have tried. I cannot find the original thread but here is a solution from a chap called Ruud

One way to share your saved reports with others is to 'Publish' your report settings to a few intermediate tables in your application and have other users 'Import' your settings from there. The reason for using intermediate tables is so that not all your saved reports need to be 'visible' to other users (only those that you've chosen to publish).
Basically you have available the following views and package calls that any APEX user can access:-
- flows_030100.apex_application_pages (all application pages)
- flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt (all saved reports - inclusing defaults and all user saved reports)
- flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond (the associated conditions/filters for above saved reports)
- wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_rpt (package procedure that creates a new saved report)
- wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_condition (package procedure that creates a condition/filter for above saved report)
The way I've done it is that I've created 2 tables in my application schema that are straightforward clones of the 2 above views.

NB: P27_REPORT is a "Select List With Submit" to filter the required report page first.
Table MENU is my application menu table where I store my menu/pages info.
2) Import Report Settings
This again shows 2 report regions:-
- Region 1 - Shows a list of all published reports in table USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to show only other users saved reports)

parameter and to 'reverse' any DECODEs that the view has.
- Region 2 - Shows a list of all your saved reports from V_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to only show yours)

This is only needed to give you some feedback as to whether the import succeeded.
A few proviso's:-
a) I'm sure there's a better way to do all this but this works for me :-)
b) This does not work for Computations! I have not found an API call to create computations.
They will simply not come across into the repository.
c) If you import the same settings twice I've made it so that the name is suffixed with (2), (3) etc.
I did not find a way to update existing report settings. You can only create new ones.
d) Make sure you refer to your saved reports by name, not ID, when matching APEX stored reports and the
reports in your repository as the ID numbers may change if you re-import an application or if you
auto-generate your screens/reports (as I do).

...and go to the last paragraph, you can embed predicates in the URL.

Hi I'm trying to update my iPhone 4 to ios7 through iTunes , when I click update it tells me to change media sync options to make more storage available .... Anyone know how I do this please ... Thanks ,Helen
You're out of space. Do you sync music to your phone? If so, try syncing it over in 128kb which will save a lot of room. Option is right in front of you in iTunes when you plug phone in.

How to Make Wage Types Available in Drop Down
Hi,
I need to make a particular wage type available for a particular Infotype(14,15 to be precise.).
I tried entering using the v_t512z maintenance. In that when I entered (actually copied from an existing WT), it gave an error that key already exists.
Now, I would like to know is this the way to make a WT visible in <b>drop down </b>of IT0014/15 ?

The thing is that a particular WT(WT1) is present for a particular molga(M1). Now I need to make this WT1 available in the drop down for another molga(M2).
When I went in view maintenence of <b>V_52D7_B</b>, for molga M1, it showed the existence of the WT, but when I was in molga M2, and the same wage type group(14/15) and copied an existing wage type, and renamed it to what I want, it gave an error saying that this wage type doesnt exist.
I hope I have made my problem a bit more clear. I would appriciate if any of u can tell me what am I missing in my process.
Is it that I <b>need to create a wage type for molga M2 </b>and only then what I am trying to do is possible?
Being a rookie in the field, please do not mind my basic querries.

How to make OBIEE reports available during the DB tables data refresh?
Experts,
We have our production ETL run for 2.5 days every month. OBIEE reports will not be available during the run. We have a requirement to make the reports available all 24 hrs 365 days. So, what we are trying is to copy all the fact/Dim tables to the new schema running in the same or different DB server and amend the connection pool to point this schema during the run. Here are my questions. Is this a workabale solution (or) is there better approach for meeting our requirement

Store the following connection pool values in a table and call them in your connection pool using Connection Pool Scripts
Data Source Name
User ID
Pwd
when ever you want to change db just you need to edit these values that would help your bi with no downtime.
You might have to tweak it little bit if needed.
More or less we have use sometime back to a client where they want to switch dbs dev to test to etc
Try it out.
BTW: 2.5 days load time for Full load or Incr?

Photoshop Elements 11 crashes whenever I try to make a collage.
Whenever I try to make a collage using Photoshop Elements 11, the elements program crashes and comes up with a error message stating that it has stopped working (A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.) I reset all my preferences within the program and the same thing continues to happen. I also tried to increase the amount of ram alloted to the program but things didn't change. Any help given on the subject will be greatly appreciated.
Why not design your own? It is possible to make a collage manually and its quite easy.
Click File >> Open and select all of your photos
That will add them to the project bin
Then select File >> New >> Blank File
Select background color White (or whatever you prefer) and add your width and height for your final image (set resolution 72 for web usage or 240 to 300 for printing) then click OK
In the project bin click your first photo and drag it up into the main window on top of your new background.
Click on the move tool and click in the center of the photo and drag to arrange it where you want on the background - you can hold down the shift key to maintain original proportions whilst dragging the corner handles of the bounding box to get the size you want.
Do the same with the next photo (drag it up into the main window) and use the move tool to position it. Then continue with each image.
Finally Click Layer >>Flatten image and save as jpeg. (Save as PSD if you want to preserve the layers for editing again)
N.B. as you add images they get dropped in the center. So you need to use the move tool to drag them apart. Click in the middle of one and move it around, and then the others until you get them positioned as you want.
When you click again with the move tool a bounding box appears around the image and you can drag out the corner handles to re-size your photos. Hold down the shift key when dragging the corner handle and that will maintain the proportions of the original.
Finally click Layer >>Flatten Image and save your collage - you may then want to use the crop tool to cut away any surplus white canvas, and then re-save. -

My friend is trying to purchase an IAP on Adobe Photoshop Express, however they get an error saying "Can not buy this item. You must buy the application to which this item is intended to buy the item" when they try to make an In app Purchase". Everything other app is working fine.
Any thoughts/suggestion to make this error go away?I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two. Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

For playlists to be available in the cloud they can not reference other playlists or contain content that is ineligible for iTM.

My attempt to upgrade to iOS 8.0 resulted in massage as it requires 4.7 GB Space I am required to make more storage available by deleting items in usage settings I have valuable photos of 6.9 GB. <Re-Titled By Host>Back your photos up somewhere. E-mail them somewhere, upload them to dropbox, back them up somewhere. If you delete them they're gone. Also iOS8 drastically alters how photostream and the such works, so read up and back up your photos or you may lose them.
If you're short on space on your ipad, try doing the upgrade via iTunes and your computer. Then your computer supplies that expansion room and you wont' need to delete stuff off the iPad. -

with yosemite 10.10: streaming fails, bonjour fails, wifi fails, airplay fails, even wired browsing safari fails, apps can't load or open, apps can't sense their servers to activate, wifi is disturbed for other users on network, computers rename and sharing does not work as expected, screen redraw stops, leaving a stalled finder window without visible list of contents, not even text will show up, parts of photographic images are pixelated, I added 32 g upgrade and little changed. Old 2.66 quad 4, 1 is faster with 20G ram and old sata not faster than 7200 rpm. New iMac 5K can't even open images. Is there a way to downgrade to mavericks even though it is not specified for the new imac5K?
Is there an update for the terrible airdrop/airplay/wifi issues? Dropbox is not working correctly. Creative cloud is confused.
I backup manually so at least I don't have time machine creating multiple images of the drive right now.

The new questions show on your account on http://appleid.apple.com ? If they do then try logging out and back into your account on your phone (assuming that is where you are trying to purchase from) and see if the new questions then show on it.

I just downloaded the IOS upgrade, 7.0.2, and now my iPhone 5 won't pair with my Bluetooth in my car, despite repeated attempts to re-pair the two and despite the fact it's been paired fine previously. The car system tells me it's paired but then when I try to make a call I get another message that says there is no paired phone.
You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.
