Try to send text message, (not iMessage) iPhone won't let me

Whenever I try to send a text message to anyone that has no iPhone, or to someone whose iMessage is turned off, a message immedately replies back to me. It says, and I quote: 'Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active'. I tried texting people multiple times, and different people also. Is this an iPhone messaging problem or should I talk to my carrier (T-Mobile) about this?

    for solvingthis problem try these ways:
    1st try To restart your iPhone , by holding the home and power button together
    if it doesnt works try this: SETTING ~> GENERAL ~> RESET ~> RESET NETWORK SETTINGS.

    You need to link your iPhone number to Messages - and Facetime if you use it. For Messages go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at. If your phone number is showing there, select it as your Contact address. If it doesn't appear in there, take a look at the end of this article for help.

    As I bought my iPhone 5 (16GB,White) in the USA from Sprint, full price with tax,  unlocked ,it was excepted to be a global phone.     The Sprint iPhone 5 is NOT unlocked. The SIM slot can only be unlocked by Sprint for Sprint customers in good standing.
    How exactly, did you "unlock" the phone?  There are known issues with SMS on foreign networks.
    If the article you linked to did not fix it, you'll have to work with your carrier.
    The bottom line is, you should not have purchased a Sprint phone with the intent of using it without Sprint service.

    Sorry to learn of any issues since upgrading to iOS7. Let's try some troubleshooting! Do you find that this issue is only for other iPhone users, or does it happen with all messages?     The ability to see and send calendar invites is a function of the calendar you are subscribing to and who owns it. We need more information, like what calendar are you subscribing to? MS Exchange? Google? Mobile Me?

    My IPhone 5 with latest version of ios 6 won't receive some text messages. All text messages not received are from different people on the same carrier (not mine). Some messages come through if they repeatedly send them. I have tried resetting network settings. This fixes the issue for 10 minutes or so before I don't receive the messages again. I dont have iMessage on and I've tried a restore.

    After resetting the network settings everything works fine again.
    YouTube App and the videos you posted above didn't play.
    After resetting, they are playable.

    Hi,
    I have been having some problems with my iphone 5 when sending and receiving text messages and imessages. When i go to send a text or imessage it will take a long time for the message to try to send through, then it comes up with message failure. I have full reception and internet connection and the phone is runing on the lastest ios7.1.2, everything is working in that respect. Sometimes it will freeze my whole inbox and i end up having to turn my phone off and on again to unfreeze it. It has also started taking a long time to receive messages, i will get a message and it will say that it was received 30mins ago when its only just shown up on my phone. I am also having problems deleting messages, as it freezes whenever i try to delete them.
    Any suggestions on what to do?

    Make sure that iMessage is turned on and completely activated. Settings>Messages>iMessages>On

    Having seperate apple ID's will fix it, but here's how to fix it without adding a new ID.
    Go to settings, messages, send and receive, be sure your number is the only one checked. If her number is checked as well you will receive your texts to her as well.

    My mom and I both have iPhones. My mom has a data plan while I don't, meaning my iPhone is Wi-Fi only while hers isn't.     I don't think this works. Even if I turn off iMessage on my iPhone, anyone who has iMessage turned on on their phone will automatically send an iMessage text. For example the picture shows what will show up on a device that has iMessage turned on, when they're about to send a message. As you can see there's an "iMessage" sign in the text box. Wether or not iMessage is turned off on my phone, it doesn't matter to the other device which doesn't know that. It's not like turning off iMessage on my phone will automatically send a message to the other phone saying iMessage is turned off, so they can now start sending SMS texts. So basically, turning off iMessage on my phone does absolutely nothing. Sorry if this was a little confusing.

    This is an iMessage, not a text message as in SMS/MMS via your cell phone carrier's network.
    This means you have iMessage enabled on each device with the same Apple ID. This is by design and intention when using the same Apple ID on multiple Apple computers and iOS devices. I have iMessage enabled on my Mac, on my iPhone, and on my iPad with the same Apple ID and all my iMessages are kept synced between all three.

    The phone number on the iPad is not active for cell voice, only for cellular data. You are not paying anything for voice or SMS (texting services) on your iPad, only for cell data. Texts to non-iOS devices would have to be SMS and use the cell voice system which is not present on your iPad.
    There are apps, such as TextFree, which will assign you a virtual phone number and allow you to emulate sending SMS messages from and to your iPad.
