Trying a recovery from a livedisc and chroot fails to run /bin/bash?!?

The title pretty much says it all.
Trying to do a repair on my daughter's laptop, booting from a live image on USB. It's an old eeepc with only 1 partition, all on sda1.
I'm using the Kernel Panics wiki like I usually do when I have to go through this: ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Kernel_panic) but when I try to chroot, I get this:
chroot: failed to run comman '/bin/bash': No such file or directory
Any ideas? I'm pulling my hair out here.

Ah, maybe you're trying to use a 64-bit binaries from the USB on a 32-bit system or vice-versa.

Please google search for "Mountain Lion disk crash" before upgrading you mac pro. You might need to replace you Mac hard drive after the upgrade.So many people had the same problems including me.
Be aware of the Mountain Lion upgrade problem.

Firefox just sits on the default search page and attempts to connect to websites by typing URLs, or by clicking on the links on the default search page don't work.

You could try the following:
* Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version)
* Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs, then add it back. For detailed instructions, see Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet.

What you are seeing is a kernel panic, often but not always connected with a hardware or peripheral issue, so, unplug everything except mouse and keyboard, reboot and hold the shift key as soon as your hear the chime, continue holding it until you see the Apple Icon and spinning progress indicator, then post back.
It will take noticeably longer than normal to start.

AlexCarey, I've been having issues purchasing recently and place a number of calls to the support team. On Oct. 5th, and on my own decision, I went into my itunes profile and re-entered my credit card expiration date and security code. (Notice, it is not displayed for safety measures.) Today, I received an email from Apple support verifying if I made changes made to my account. For the heck of it, I logged back into itunes; click "Buy". It's working again after three days of failure. However, diagnosis still displays "Secure link to itunes store failed". Very confusing state of affairs, lately. See my post on "Itunes dilemma"

ITunes tells me there is an update (5.1) but it never gets any further than trying to connect to the iPad server. I've tried updating directly from my iPad and it too times out saying it cannot connect to any server. My regular Apple updates work fine.

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?

Trying to Arch-Chroot after messing up an update, can't run /bin/bash

Hey guys,
I made so absolutely dumb errors recently I just haven't been sound in mind.
So I'm updating my system after months and I'm doing what is described here https://www.archlinux.org/news/binaries … ervention/
My first mistake is when I forgot to do pacman -S bash and pacman -Su after doing pacman -Syu --ignore filesystem,bash in the last section. So I had to chroot into my system to do the last 2 updates.
I chrooted in and succesfully updated bash. But then I forgot to do pacman -Su! So my filesystem is still not updated haha...
Well I tried to chroot in again to do the last update, and now I get this error.
chroot: failed to run command (block ascii)/bin/(block ascii)sh(block ascii): No such file or directory.
Which probably actually reads as /bin/bash: no such file or directory.
I'm not sure how to fix this issue with bash. As I said I updated bash without updating the filesystem when I chrooted...hoping someone knows what I can do.

Either point it to /usr/bin/bash (arch-chroot /mnt /usr/bin/bash) or just update from outside the chroot (pacman --root /mnt -Su)

Try extracting part of the file and see if the extracted part can be Exported. If so, repeat with the next set of pages. When done, try to load all into the first file.

Chromium OS - cros_sdk:make_chroot / chroot fails to run command ...

Anyone encountered this error recently when working with cros_sdk and make_chroot? I previously had no problem building ChromeOS with Archlinux earlier this year. But now it appears there are some fundamental issues with the chroot set-up that are incompatible. I realize that only Ubuntu is supported, however any tips on isolating this issue so that I can get it working myself would be much appreciated. Details below.

WELL. A quick 'df' shows that I am using 100% of my filesystem. How embarrassing.

Tried the fix from last contact and still does not look right.

I tried the fix that you recommended and that had no effect. The colors on some web sites are off to the point that I can not read the material since the colors are so dark or even one site came up with an all black background that I never had that before on that site. Some sites are scrambled so much that it shows the site as an outline looks when writing a paper. On Monzilla, when you click on; i.e., 'cut' the bar highlights but the writing on the bar becomes so faint that you can not make it out. I never had this problem until I allowed the latest version to load. I also shut down the computer but that had no effect. If I look for something and use Yahoo it comes up with writing over writing on some lines. So why did this occur?

That's consistent with trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.
