Trying demo... crash on import

Question

Hi,
Ok, I know there's a really long "crash thread" but honestly I can't find an answer in there and given so many pages I'm not sure I would.
Anyway, I am trying the demo; cam is a new Panasonic HC-V700M; first clip I imported went fine. Second one crashes FCP every time.
First one, as noted, imported fine, I threw a little music in and added fades in and out, shared 1080 with apple devices, and was able to view downstairs immediately on the apple tv.
Second clip...yikes.
I tried importing optimized, crash.
Tried previewing before importing, and it hung. However, I can scrub through the preview.
Now, I'm not sure exactly what format the 1st clip is (is there a way to see? That one is working fine in FCP) but for the second, I tried activiating 1080/60p. Someone said FCP is compatible with 1080/60p, so it seems it should work ok regardless of format?
Any help appreciated!

Hi Jakob -
No problem opening it in Quicktime.
[edit] Strangely, though I saw I can only import from camera, after copying the file to the desktop and renaming it, it becomes a folder (this is where the quicktime movie was) - I can then import the movie.
Not sure what effect this has on quality, though -
