Trying to access my Apple Logo Top Left Causes Java Crash and Desktop to go
Away..?
Ok when I try to go to my top left of my desktop icons go away and I when I can access the
Apple Menu it blinks and goes away and my Desktop Icons Hard drive, External
Drives etc. shows up again and remains there until I again try to access Apple Menu
I can access System Preferences from the Dock ?
I have never had this to happen to me and I've used Macs since the late 80's
iMac 24" 2.4ghz 4gb ram, 750gb Hard Drive OS 10.5.2
Please help as I have ran Disk Utilities, Zapped P-Ram no luck all says it's Ok
even ran the Command S=fsck -fy
Note***I tried to open the Apple Menu in Safe Mode No Luck

I had the same Issue on a 5 i bought. Exact same screen and writing. Battery was totally drawn, first thing I had to replace. The screen had been replaced and since then it wouldn't work anymore according to the previous owner.
It took me a couple hours, after recieving a few errors like 4013 it just never completed the restore, got really hot as well. The Flexwire of the Dock Connector seemed damaged, replaced the dock, but that didn't help.
I almost gave up, thought the Logic Board was bad.
BUT! Then i deceided to check if it has anything to do with the Screen assembly, and it did.
Long story short, on mine the front facing camera, and sensor assy were bad.
Anyhow, the phone works ''perfect'' when i leave them unplugged. So I just ordered a new one and we will see if thats the problem or if the damage is in the Logic Board.
If so, i can live without the sensor and front cam.
Just wanted to share, good luck everyone. -

Hello All;
I just bought an Airport Extreme Base Station today and am all ready having problems. I am running a PC. I connected a Motorola DSL model to the Airport's QAN port and then I connected the computer to one of the Ethernet ports. When I first loaded the software that came with it, things worked perfectly and I was able to connect to the internet. Then, when I opened up the configuration file, and try to enter the configuration manually, I receive the error ... "An error occurred trying to access the Apple Wireless Device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again". When I try to open the Manual setup I get that error. Also why are the "settings" always grayed out ? I am connected ot the Internet but can't understand why I can't do a manual setup or change any of the settings. I reset my passwords and need to change them again but am unable to do that. Thanks for any help and advice you can give me.
TimI am about to return this unit to the store I bought it at. I keep getting an error 6753 whenever I try to do any kind of configuration. Most of the configuration options are grayed out in the setup utility anyway. There is a ton of stuff about this problem on the internet. There are a few solutions offered like modify the tcp/ip properties but I sure can't figure out what they're talking about. Not everyone who buys this is going to be tech savvy.
I'll call tech Support tonite and if they can't offer a permanent soultion, I'm returning the Airport Extreme and separate dsl modem tomorrow and getting a wireless dsl router specifically designed for the PC.

Error (-6722) occurred while trying to access the Apple Wireless device
I receive the following error when I press 'manual setup' or 'continue' from within the airport utility:
"An error ocurred while trying to access the Apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again
Error -6722"
Everything is working on the Airport express but I can't run the utility. Should I hazard a reset of the device to factory settings?Aaaaaaand as I was writing that, I managed to fix it. Not sure how exactly. The variables that were used that worked:
On windows, running AU 5.5.2, right clicking upload firmware in the device list, choosing other, selecting a random firmware other than 7.3 (I think i ended up using 7.4.2) and clicking upload. Instead of trying to communicate with the APExpress, it directly uploaded the firmware and then it restarted, I got a crazy amber blink cycle I have never seen before (Three fast long blinks, and the three short fast blinks, repeat). Then it restarted and it was back to normal. Woohoo! There goes 5 hours of my life. -
I did the upgrade to the IOS 8.0.1 or whatever the latest upgrade is and for the past 12 hours my phone has shown the apple logo, went to a blue screen, blanked out back to the apple logo, to the blue screen over and over. I have re-booted the phone and it still does that. I need this fixed. Please help !

I've just downloaded itunes 12 onto my pc. When I connect my IPod classic 160gb, it's name shows up briefly before the ipod silhouette at the top left simply greys out and nothing happens.
Please advise.I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!! -

My mackbook pro suddenly freezed and when I swiched off and on again, a grey screen appeared with an apple logo then a loading circle underneath, and after a few hours, a blue screen appeared. What shall I do with this?
What operating system version, and do you have any backups of your data off the machine? TimeMachine? Option Key bootable clones? Storage? DVD's?
A reinstall of the operating system may be in order as a last resort, so if any of these steps on these links get you into the machine, make sure to backup your personal data (Music, Pictures, Documents, Movies) off the machine to a non-encrypted powered external drive regular storage drive (not TimeMachine as it might be corrupted too) and disconnect as soon as possible.
Good Luck and report back all what you tried.
Also report what change occured before this tragedy happened, was there a Software Update? A EFI firmware update? Etc.

I have iPad 2 and trying to connect to apple tv. Have gone into videos and music and put in my apple id and password but won't work. Pick up my PC fine though.

– Have iOS 5 installed on your iPad 2
– Make sure your Apple TV software is up-to-date. You can check for updates on the Apple TV by going to Settings > General > Update Software.
– Have your TV turned with Apple TV active and showing.
– Double-tap the home button on the iPad to bring up the Multitasking Bar.
– Swipe to move to the left of the Multitasking Bar, so you can see the set of controls just to the left of the volume adjustment slider.
– The button just to the right of the Fast Forward button – the one that has a rectangle with a solid, upward-facing arrow in it – is the AirPlay button. Tap to switch from iPad to Apple TV.
– Once you do that you’ll see the Mirroring section appear just below the entry for Apple TV. Just tap to turn that On, and the iPad 2 will immediately begin mirroring to your TV screen. -
my iphone keeps blocking in a "boot" mode... blackscreen with apple logo... the restarting (home and power button for 10 sec) doesn't work. when i get it in DFU mode and try restoring with itunes it remains the same... provider already "fixed" this problem twice with a "software update" only to get the same problem again... it just "reboots" this time it happened @ night while charging... previous time in my jacket pocket... this is the 3th time it happens, and my provider (Mobistar belgium) doesn't wish to exchange or refund my iphone witch clearly has something wrong 3 times same problem in 3 months...

I had to reboot my iMac, it froze... When I went to reboot it started up as usual... Made power sound, showed apple logo (white screen)... And pin wheel started after 3 to 4 mins., went to black screen with error messages. Rebooted 5x, shot off power source, disconnected external devices... Now won't go past pinwheel... Since it does not go to black screen, I cannot convey error messages... Please advise what I could try... Thank you... I have an iMac 2009... Upgrade operating system to new system this spring... Don.
It is guitardad's again... I read past topics on this issue... As I am not overly computer savvy, I want to be careful that I don't mess things up further... Of course the extended warranty is done... There is talk about booting from the system disc... I'm not sure if this is the first thing to do or not... Can the support community, advise me on what logical steps I should take ( in order) or direct me to a website and/ or you tube video that walks one safely through the processes... Once again thank you for reading and offering your advice... I am on fixed $$$ so I'm trying to avoid calling apple, unless I have no options and/or the suggestions do not resolve the issues... There is always a blue screen appears after the Apple logo during the booting process. And then everything is back to normal. What is this thing? Is there something wrong with my screen or something?
