Trying to activate phone on pre-pay and get disconnected from *228 after 1 minute
It says "congratulations your phone is activated" but I need to dial *228 Send to program the phone. I do this and I am disconnected after 1 minute. I have tried this a dozen or so times with the same result. I had my old number transferred and now I can't use that phone either. HELP!

I'm so sorry for the trouble getting your prepaid device to activate! We definitely want to make sure you're connected and running at 100%. While we only have access to Post Paid on this site, I would like to make sure you can get in touch with our PrePaid team. Is there another line you can call from? To reach our Prepay Team from another line, please dial 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4 (for questions or to change something), then 5 (for Store Locations or Billing Questions), then 4 (for Customer Service Rep) and then enter your pass code for your account. If you do not know the pass code enter in four zeros. Then the system will transfer you to a Prepaid representative.

Or is it more complicated than just finding a Verizon-branded phone?The lugs that hold the base onto the phone are not strong enough and the base often needs to be replaced. Give the base (the bit with the button on it) a tug to see whether it's broken.

iphone wont let me recieve yahoo mail, tried switching off phone,taking account off and on. did a restore on my phone the yahoo server says on but it is pale so you cant switch off or on. my phone will recieve bt mail and internet not affected. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.

Might even be a good idea to turn off the phone, reseat the SIM card, and turn it back on.

That's definitely enough to start.
It sure seems like it should work...and then I saw that you're using a router. It could very well be that the router is the weak link here.
Instead connecting to your network router, try using a direct USB connection from your MBP. If that doesn't work, you read this post, which may be relevant to your problem:

I have a new device. When selecting the language and country I am trying to connect to a wifi connection and getting the error 'Your Iphone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting to your Iphone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes.
Where exactly did you get this phone?
Do you have a SIM in the phone?
There are 2 primary causes for this.
Either you don't have a SIM in the phone, which is REQUIRED to activate it, or the phone was hacked to unlock it. -
When iTunes was upgraded to the lastest (11.0), many of of songs/music/audiobooks were deleted! I tried syncing my phone to my computer to get them back, but many of those were deleted too! How do I get my purchases back to play them???
It shows on iTunes SOME of my past purchases, but not all (looks like around 30-40% of purchases). It shows on my apple id purchase history everything i have purchased; but in iTunes, some not all of these show up. What does show up is kind of "greyed out", so NOTHING will actually play. I have followed the steps in the iTunes support about how to redownload past purchases, but this dowsn't work, as the download button is also "greyed out".
I am extremly angry and upset about this issue. Could someone please help / advise re how to fix????I'm hoping that this may be just a misunderstanding somewhere.

I am running windows xp. Trying to download latest version of iTunes and get error message: Microsoft Visual C Rundtime Library. Runtime Error. Program:C\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.exe. R6034 An appliction has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the appliction's support team for more information.
2nd/ message: iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7(Windows error 1114)
I have removed iTunes serveral time and tried to reinstall many times and get the same results noted above.

A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -
I have been working on the same numbers file for the past few weeks. The last time I opened it was 1 week ago. Today when I tried to open it I am unable and getting a message that the file is invalid and the index.xml file is missing.

I upgraded to Maverick OS X 10.9.5, numbers spreadsheet is saved. Upon re-opening, it appears to be frozen, a warning "file is invalid as index.xml file is missing". I checked, and the file is not "locked". This appears to occur only with using the new numbers app. When I open previous spreadsheets from old iWorks, no such problem occurs.
How did you resolve your problem?
Would appreciate any help here.
