Trying to add muzzle flashes to a video

When I use picture in picture to insert a muzzle flash, only one will appear in the final video. I can see two when I scrub the time line, but only one appears when I preview the video. I cannot figure out why?

I would do it with a script based on ldapmodify.
If the attribute value is going to be common to all the entries under ou=people, you can also consider using Class of Service (COS) instead.

  • Trying to add a flash please help

I cannot seem to add a flash at the very begining of my clip please someone help

Some effects "fade" in, and don't fully show for the first couple of frames. I run into this with the "Striped subtitle" effect all the time. It takes about 20 frames for the subtitle to show up in full strength. The workaround I found for starting a movie with a striped subtitle in the first frame (so that the movie thumbnail shows the subtitle) goes like this:
First, I pad the beginning of the movie with some extra filler footage. Then I apply the effect, starting at the added filler footage. Once the effect is rendered, I remove the filler footage, and presto, the effect starts in full force on the first frame!
Maybe you can use the same trick to get a flash to show up at the very beginning of your clip.

  • I am trying to add an object to a video.

    Hello,
I am editing a video which is seen through the windshield of a car.  The car(V1) is following a path taken by an accident victim.  What I am trying to do is insert the back of the other vehicle (V2) at the point of impact.  I have cripped the picture of the other vehicle and placed into the composition at the point of impact.  Now what I want to do, is set the position as permanent for (V2) then scale back as I rewind the video.  My end result should be (V1) travelling forward and (V2), which is stationary, getting larger in size as (V1) approaches.  The path of (V1) is straight.  Is this possible in AE CS5.5?  If so how do I do it?

Make the back of the car a 3D layer. Add a camera. Animate the camera so the motiion looks right.
Another option, track something in the frame that is in the same plane as the back of the car. Track scale. Apply the tracked scale information to the back of the car layer.
A better way to get better suggestions. Post a screenshot of the video or better yet, upload the video to You-tube and let us see what you are trying to do.

  • Captivate 5 freezing issue when trying to add closed captions to video

    Hi There --
I'm trying to add closed captions to a video (.f4v) I inserted as "Slide Video" on a slide in an Adobe Captivate 5 presentation.  I click on the video to select it, go to the properties panel, select "edit video timing" and then click on the closed captions panel to try and add captions and then Captivate completely freezes and locks up so not only can I not add captions to the video, but I have to use Windows task manager to shut it down.
I've seen this process demonstrated in a Lynda.com tutorial, and the instructor didn't seem to have this issue with Captivate 5.
Any thoughts?  Have other users found a work around at all?  I mean, I know I could strip the audio from the video, and then attach it to the slide and do closed captions that way, but it would be way easier (and make a lot more sense) to add it directly to the video, especially since that's what you are supposed to be able to do.
I'm using Captivate 5 on Windows 7.  I also have Captivate 5 on a personal Macintosh and haven't tried yet to see if the issue occurs on that platform as well.  Has anyone else run into this issue?  Sorry for the length -- this is my first forum posting, so I'm trying to provide as much info as possible.

    Hi Dan,
    Welcome to Adobe Captivate Forums.
You can try to add the closed captions to Video after deleting the preferences.
Follow these steps to delete the preferences
    1.  Close Captivate if its launched already
    2. Navigate to C:\Users\<userName>\AppData\Local\Adobe
    3. Locate a folder named "Captivate 5"
    4. Delete the folder
    5. Now Launch Captivate and try your workflow
Let us know if this solved the issue .

  • Trying to add video to my site, need help

So, I am trying to add video content to my website. I've converted small video clip to test to the .flv format and have a .swf flash video player. I'm trying to embed it into my site but its giving me trouble. Here is a copy of the code I am using
    <embed src="http://www.myfileserver.com/folder/flvplayer.swf" width="320" height="240"
    bgcolor="#FFFFFF" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    flashvars="file=http://www.myfileserver.com/folder/video.flv&autostart=true" />
here is my question. I am confused to where my server is. I don't have my site content on an online server so does that mean, my computer is acting as my server?
On the embed src= "spot" do I just point to the place where I saved the .swf file on my computer? Same question goes for "file spot"at the bottom, the last line of code?
When I try and follow the directions and point to the files on my computer the video does not play. Hover over the 2nd video explanation to see my problem on my site to see the problem

    Thanks,

When you started in Dreamweaver, you should have created a testing server. This testing server has the root folder defined on your computer:
You would put the flash movie into your media folder (or whatever folder you would designate for media such as this).
In Dreamweaver, on your insert panel, you should see a "insert media" button. Click the down arrow beside the button and choose the media you wish ot insert:
Choose FLV and it will give you the option to put in the URL (local testing server folder), a control button skin, and the size.

It started the first time when I had Firefox. I would be watch an online video and the picture would stop and the sound would become a buzz or a slow buzz and the sound trying to play. It became more and more. I chanced to chrome for a while. I wanted to try out fox again but it started all over again. It also happen when it looked up possible fixes and tried to update my flash player like suggested. It got to the point where it was downloading and the computer crashed. the only thing I can do every time is do a hard boot and start my computer all over again.
I don't think I ever had to do that with chrome. Help me, I really do like Firefox a lot but I am going to have to go back to chrome. Also, another thing that is happening is my firewall program is popping up more with a TCP warning.

  • Trying to add video podcasts to iPod Classic

I'm trying to add video podcasts to my iPod Classic 160GB. I can see them in the podcast summary page get added in the sync, but I can not find them on my iPod. I have 5 TV shows added to it and can find them under Videos but when I add the video podcasts they do not show up in the Podcasts section. Is there something I can do?

They should appear under Podcasts if they successfully synced over to the device. I assume you didn't see any error messages when you synced these video podcasts over to your device?
To be sure, reset sync warnings on the iPod by right->clicking on it under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes and choosing Reset Warnings. Then resync the iPod.

I am trying to add a full screen mode button for non scalable pubished video in captivate 7. For captivate 6 I used a widget from CPguru but that is not compatible with captivate 7.

    Hello,
We have tried the Fullscreen widget from CPguru.
It seems to be working fine at our end.
Could you please try using the widget in a new project.
It could be specific to the project you have created. If possible, share the cptx file with us for better investigation.

    Hello Lynda,
Have you imported/added these videos to your iTunes library? If so, do they appear from under the Movies section?  How do you have your iPod set up to sync videos from under the Movies tab for your iPod?

  • I am trying to add youtube video downloader for firefox having problem doing so

I had uploaded few videos about my website project www.finditdubai.com which i want to download from youtube as once i uploaded i had deeted the video files from my computer. When i am trying to add your tube downloader from mozilla extentions mozilla page is not displaying any extentions there its just a simple white page with text links is it because of some internet issues or there is some problem with mozilla extantion page??? P;ease check https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-video-and-audio-dow/

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search Bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete the addons.json and addons.sqlite files.

  • Trying to add video clips

Hello, Im trying to add video clips, however when I publish the project the video does not show up.  I tried avi, swf, flv.  The avi's do not go in at all because it says it cannot convert it.

    Hi there
Normally Captivate only understands the FLV format. You probably need to find a converter to convert the clips to FLV.

  • Trying to add Flash Intro to my HTML site

    Hi everybody.
I have an HTML site that I would like to add a Flash Intro
to. I would like the Flash intro page to play (about 30 seconds)
then change to the first page of my HTML site. I have searched
through several books, Lynda.com, and google, but can't come up
    with a good solution.
Would someone be kind enough to help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Brian

Before reading all this, make sure you download my example
    files at
    http://www.shan-dysigns.com/flash/flashIntro.zip
That link is further down in my reply, but you may miss it.
Since you want people to see your flash intro before your
html page, you will have to rename your existing html page to
something like homepage.html. When people go to your domain name,
file names such as index, default (I think there might be a few
others) will be automatically loaded first. Because of this, your
flash intro (once placed into an html page) will have to be named
    index.html.
After creating your flash intro, export it to a swf file. Go
into DW and create a new html page (you need a container for your
flash intro). On the menu bar of DW, click Insert, then Media, then
Flash. You may want to create a table or a div tag before hand in
order to center the flash file (then you would just insert the
flash file into that table or div tag).
if you download my example stuff
    here,
you will see a flash document, swf file, the index.html page which
holds the flash intro swf file, a hopepage.html file, and a folder
DW automatically creates when you insert Flash content. Download
the zip file and save it in a temp folder somewhere. Go to Windows
Explorer (assuming you are on a PC), and double click the
index.html page (I don't know if your browser will ask if it's ok
to run scripts, but it's just the script from DW allowing the
flash). You should see the 10 seconds of the flash intro, then you
will be redirected to the homepage.html file when the intro is
finished. If you look at the flash document, on the last layer
where I have the script, there is an absolute path (currently
commented out), and a relative path. Using the relative path will
allow you to test this without having to upload to a server. In
order to test all this on a server, you will need to upload all the
files and the folder to a server (you may want to create a test
folder on the server to place these files in). Make sure you change
the flash document's code to the absolute path and comment out the
relative one, and make sure to change the domain name to yours,
export the flash file and upload the new swf along with the other
files and folder. Then go to yourDomainName.com/test, and you
should see everything. I don't know how else to explain any of
    this...

  • Trying to add video file but does nothing

I am trying to add an mpeg that 85MB but iTunes acts as if I had done nothing.
    Can anyone help?

Itunes ignores any files it does not support. This is very frustrating for the user, because we are used to seeing error messages or popups. In the long run, ignoring attempts to add a file saves time. There is nothing to do, no workaround, no trick. If iTunes ignores the attempt to add the file, then it absolutely does not support that particular file.
