Trying to add photos from pc to ipod using Icloud...Help!!

I have an Ipod touch, I simply want to add some photos from my pc  (which is not a mac, I`m running Windows 7) to my ipod, I thought I`d be able to do this through `ICLOUD PHOTO STREAM` but I`m not having any luck, can anyone help??? I`m not a computer dummy but I`m not a computer genius either, I wish they`d just make something simple that works for once! Most people that use these programs are just the avg. person not a computer tech.

Each time you use iTunes to sync photos from a computer, it sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/selections on the Photos page of iTunes. For example, if you have previously selected 2 folders or albums to sync from the computer and want to add a 3rd, you need to select all 3 before you sync. That will add the 3rd folder/album and will also add any new photos that are on the computer in the original 2 albums. It really isn't what I would think of as a sync since it is one-way -- it will move photos from the computer to the phone but will not move in the other direction or have any other affect on the photos on the computer. It is a sync in the sense that it will keep the selected folders on the phone in sync with those folders/albums on the computer (i.e., if you add to or delete from the selected folders/albums on the computer then the same changes will be made to the phone).

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

You can transfer photos outside of iTunes. I do it all the time. THat said, i have a 50/50 success rate with them. I'd avoid sandisk and kingston, their bundled software triggers the 'too much power' warning.
I've had mixed luck with lexar, some work, some don't.
I did have good luck with an older 4 gig geek squad one.
Look for drives without software on them, without bright LED lights and I haven't gotten any larger than 4 gig to work, but that may just be me.
For a less troublesome way? h onestly, I use a SD card that I've formatted with the DCIM folder. I've never had one of them trigger the 'too much power' warning. Just make sure they're not SDXC. those don't work.

  • IPhoto doesn´t work after trying to load photos from iphone with newer version. Help!!!!!

First, I do not have a recent back-up of my iPhoto Library. (But, I learned my lesson for next time). When I tried to load photos from my super duper up to date software I-phone to my outdated iPhoto on the computer (only version 8.1.2), a message came that I cannot open your Mediateck with this version of iPhoto,. You have changed your mediathek with a newer version of iPhoto.
(in German, because I am writing from Germany "Sie konnen ihre aktuelle Mediathek nicht mit dieser Version von iPhoto öffnen. Sie haben Ihre Mediathek mit einer neueren version von iPhoto geändert").
How can I save all the baby pictures of my 3 kids??Help

    Did you update iPhoto?
    If not:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new iPhoto 08 library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • HT204053 transfer photos from iPhone to mac using iCloud?

transfer photes from iphone to mac using icloud ?

Connect the iPhone to your Mac and launch iPhoto.  It will detect the photos and indicate those that are not already in the library so you can import them.
Be careful in letting iPhoto delete the photos from the iPhone.  It's best to delete them manually from the iPhone so you have more control over what gets deleted.
Once you have your iPhone and iPhoto setup with Photo Stream to automatically import all new photos taken with your iPhone it'll be a seamless transfer:

However, when I eject the iPod no photo album exists under the photo menu and under the "About" menu it shows I have 0, photos. When re-connected to iTunes, iTunes then ID's 25 photos on the iPod. It appears to work but I'm unable to view photos. Can anyone help me? Appreciated.

i am using windows xp. transfer all your images into one folder in my pictures and then sync from the ipod menu under preferences under edit menu in itunes. it optimized and copied more than 700 pictures onto my 30 gb ipod. hope this helped.

I am trying to use icloud to sync photos from pc to ipad. The photos are in the photostream upload folder on the pc.

Another thing: am I not supposed to have an icloud icon on the ipad? I dnon't

  • How do I move photos from iPad1 to iPhone using iCloud?

I thought that if I put photos on my iPad, it would automatically move to my iPhone or at least ask me. Is there a setting that I need to refer to or what?

Photo Stream only adds photos taken on each device to Photo Stream and syncs them between devices. It also only adds photos taken since Photo Stream was activated.

  • How to transfer old photos from iMac to iPad using iCloud Photo Library

iMac with Yosemite, iPad with iOS 8.1.  New photos taken on any device are shared automatically with all other devices.  But, older photos on iMac are not being shared with iPad or iPhone.  The options to synch selected photos on iMac with iPad don't seem to be there any more now that iCloud Photo Library is enabled on iPad.
I imagine that iCloud Photo Library's capabilities only apply to new photos.  Is there a way to move old photos over for viewing on other devices?

    John,
You can share selected photos to your Photo Stream, if you enable the iCloud features, or create an album of the selected photos and transfer them using iTunes Photo sync.
For iCloud see: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ, iCloud: Using and troubleshooting Shared Photo Streams
For iTunes see: iTunes: Syncing photos
Or, simply mail them in high quality and save them from your Mail to your camera roll, if it are only a few photos.

  • When trying to add playlists from pc to ipod, not all playlists display.

I have a TON as in over a thousand playlists. I just love music, but when I go into the ipod configuration section of itunes to check which playlists I would like automatically updated on the ipod, I can only scroll to the 'T' section of the list. No further. Does anyone know why this might be or how I might fix this? I have checked .ini files for some kind of settings. I have restored the ipod, reinstalled itunes, even deleted and recreated the playlists with a new library. This appears to be a limitation of the itunes software. Anyone have any suggestions?

I turned on the iCloud status thing and it says the song I'm after is "waiting". It plays on my laptop on iTunes but still grey on my iPhone n won't play.
Right. Because the song has not been processed by iTunes it will not be available to your other devices yet.

The silence shows up fine on iTunes and plays (silence) but on my Iphone on wifi it shows not downloaded, I press it to download and it starts to but then doesn't finish and says it can't be downloaded at this time. And when not on wifi the silence track in the playlist disappeared altogether today!
What is the iCloud Status for these short tracks?
A first trouble shooting step is to turn off iTunes Match wil holding down the Option key. Quit iTunes, wait a few seconds, re-launch it and re-enable iTM. Let is finish it's scan then click the iCloud Status column and see if any tracks are still "waiting." If they are they will not be available on your iPhone until they have been processed.

I have resized my photo's yet when I try to upload them on the the person's contact details it says 'server error cannot upload photo at this time'.
    Any help would appreciated!

I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

  • How to transfer photos from pc to ipod

I am trying to add photos from my pc to my ipod touch 4g. On iTunes, I click on the "photos" tab and select a folder, the photos are transferred but the photos that were already on my ipod get deleted. How do I stop this from happening? Also, how do I keep the folder from duplicating once it is on my ipod...under photos---albums, I have two folders 1. photo library 2. name of the folder that was transferred, and they both contain the exact same pictures. Why does this happen, how can I just have 1 album.
One more question, I can't seem delete photos that are already on my ipod, how do I delete an entire folder and how do I delete just a couple of photos?

"How do I stop this from happening?"
Select EVERYHTING (All pics/folders/albums) that you want ot be on the ipod then sync.  If it is not selected then it will not be on the ipod.
"Also, how do I keep the folder from duplicating once it is on my ipod...under photos---albums, I have two folders 1. photo library 2. name of the folder that was transferred,"
You do NOT have duplicates.  This is how the ipod works.  It is normal and correct.  ALL pics synced to the ipod can be accessed from "Photo Library".  Those exact same pics can also be accessed from  the albums.  There are not two copies.  Just as a book can be in the public library and also in the fiction section, one pic is in the Photos Library and in the album.  This is the way it works.
"I can't seem delete photos that are already on my ipod, how do I delete an entire folder and how do I delete just a couple of photos?"
You delete them them the same way you put them there, the sync process.  Deselect the album in itunes and sync.
Don't think of the ipod as a external storage device.  It simply mirrors the selected content from your computer. Whatever you have selected in itunes will be on your ipod.  If you do not want it on the ipod, then do not select it.
