Trying to be a good neighbor

My next door neighbors have just gotten a notebook computer (they're in their 70s), and I'm letting them piggyback on my wireless signal. Problem is, I'm moving to the apartment right across the hall from them, but three flights up!
Does anyone know if it will still be possible for me to share my signal with them? I don't mind buying a little extra equipment, as long as I know it will work, and won't denigrate my own signal. (I've seen something that shoots a signal in a very direct line, but am afraid that I won't be able to have wireless in other parts of my apartment if I use it.)
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

The Express has a 150 ft range as per Apple advertising. Also take into account that your building could affect this (thick stone walls etc). You can get equipment that extends the range as you state, but I have no experience of how effective this is.

I assume that you have some security enabled i.e WEP or preferably WPA2. If not then antone else in your building might be using it as well, which is not necessarily what you want.
To be honest, your best bet is see if it works once you have moved. I think that it probably will.

I am trying to get a good copy of my home video on DVD using IDVD. On editing the video all the viewing screens show the video perfectly in HD. When I burn the video to DVD all the end results are buzzy with squiggly lines. Any fix? Thanks?

There are several layers to this Q
A. There are no HD in DVD - DVD is as standard only SD-Video what ever tools used to produce it !
iDVD or DVD-Studio Pro or Roxio Toast™ - will only make SD-Video on DVD
B. DVD can be better or worse
• Using "Share to iDVD" is no good way - Better is Share to Media Browser and as Large (NOT HD as result will be worse)
• Using iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - are not tools to chose if highes quality is of importance - iMovie up to HD6 or FinalCut any version is far better as they send over all lines to iDVD and not only every second one.
• Using Right encoder quality depending on movie and Manu duration is very important
• Use of high quality brand of DVD - is important - I use Verbatim DVD-R
• Type of DVD - DVD-R plays on more DVD-Players (even old ones)
• Burn speed - I set it down to x4 - resulting in less burn errors - plays on more players
• I secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up Mac OS hard disk as iDVD and Mac OS needs this and it can not be taked from other hard disks - has to be here.
• What You feed iDVD does matter

COIS024 When trying to display the goods movement in COR2/COR3

Gents,
the system is issuing a COIS024 message (There is no data for the selection) when trying to display the documented goods movements for any process order. The order has both GI & GR. The message is also refering to OPJB saying we should set the type of this message to S in OPJB.
Any ideas why this is happening, or better a solution?

Hi,
2 things:
1. In COR4, for plant - order type combination check in implementation tab if you have flagged the check boxes under documentation of goods movement. If it is not done, then flag the same, then all future goods movement will be documented.
2. If the above is done, then run SU53 & check if you have some authorization issue.

My late 2006 iMac stopped finding my back up drive. I've tried rebooting but no good. Tried unplugging the external drive and rebooting. How do I tell my computer to find the external 500 GB dive that is plugged into it?

I have a Western Digital 500 gig external hardrive that I have been using successfully with Time Machine to back up my files. A few weeks ago I noticed that the external drive light was ON but not moving back and forth indicating that it was working. The light was now simply ON but not moving. So I checked and sure enough Time Machine didn''t "see" it anymore. When I tried to fix it, the drive is no longer on the list. Nothing is on the list. The external drive is not showing anywhere, including the desktop. And when I tried to switch Time Machine on the list is empty and it wants to "look" at airport for a wi-fi type peripheral. Help! How do I get the iMac to realize it has an external drive plugged into it? I don't even know why it worked when I first got it or why it stopped working. I only know that Time Machine doesn't have it listed.

Open disk utility and check the external drive and repair it. If that didn't fix the problem or if you are unable to see the drive in disk utility then the drive could be bad.

I'm trying to find a good diary App

using the calander to make notes is ok but i'm looking for something a little different. i am recording daily performance notes on a small business enterprise. what i want is to be able to go back over these daily notes by flicking day to day as you do when browsing through photo's. having to view a note, then go back to the day, then go to the next day and then into that days note seems very cumbersome. can anyone help?

In this situation, the processor and the RAM are looking good but my concern is the little phrase "Up to" 4059MB video memory. That typically means that memory is not dedicated (although the specs tab implies it) and how much you get varies from game to game.
If you're willing to front a bit more on the cost, this tower would suit your needs quite nicely in my opinion:
HP Pavilion h8-1234
It has similar specs to the one you were looking at but offers 1GB dedicated graphics memory along with 4855MB of that shared memory power. This would be a great gaming computer to start out with and it should keep up with the newer games as well, although likely not at max settings.

Error when trying to reverse a goods receipt using vl09

Hi All,
I'm trying to reverse an inbound delivery using vl09. Getting a message that
"Error at central message handling" . After this the system is throwing me out of the tcode vl09.
Any idea why this is appearing and how to overcome this.

Preparing for trying to get a good new deal

My current contract expired last September. I don't think I got a particularly good deal and was immediately a bit frustrated that I had rather too soon accepted what was being offered. I currently pay about £58 per month for Line rental, total broadband, anytime calls and unlimited BT vision.
I have looked at the prices being offered to new customers and, ignoring the free period, I see Broadband and calls for £16, anytime add on £7, TV essentials £5 and line rental(paid in advance) of £10.75 per month. Does this meaan that I should be able to get these services( I want to downgrade to vision essentials) for £38.75 as an existing user? We do not have infinity so you view is not relevant. Could I even get a better deal?
Finally, my understanding is that the new BT Sport channels will be included as part of the above package - not HD of course.

Well, I was offered more or less what new custoners are getting, except for the free period, so I was happy enough with that. Frustratingly the annual line rental paid up front has TODAY increased by £12 to £141 ,but at least they knocked £1 a month off BT essentials for 12 months so it evened up. Having gone through everything, I didn't really feel like going into ' haggling mode' but I doubt I could have done much better - 12 month contract required.
Of more interest and some disappointment is that I was told that, as I was not in an Infinity area, my Bt box( Black vision +) would not be capable of getting BT Sport via the aerial for 1 August and maybe a while after. I was told they were working on getting BTSport via the aerial and that you would need to be in an area which receives 4 Music and Viva ( I think I am) but, even then, you may need a You View box.
The only option will be to get it via the internet( and play throught the TV if you want to )

Being a good neighbor & sharing internet but not folders?

My neighbor wants to use my wireless network. I have a WRT54G wireless router. I have it set up passworded/private because I share internet, folders, and a printer across my home computers (2 wired desktops, 1 wireless laptop, 1 wireless PDA).
So is there anyway to give my neighbor access to just the internet and not the printer and shared folders??
(especially the shared folders as it contains business stuff) I would still want to have access to the shared folders on my wireless laptop.

No. Not with your router. The only thing you can limit inside your LAN is access between wireless devices, i.e. from one wireless device to another wireless device. All wireless devices have full access to the wired LAN.

Please help, I am trying to do a good deed and unlock an older Ipod Touch.

I know this might seem silly to some of you, but I desperately need some assistance. Every article I have looked up says I need to restore this old Ipod Touch and that will erase the memory, allowing me to get in.
I Don't want to do that!! HERES WHY:
My girlfriends mother was killed several years ago, and THIS is HER Ipod Touch we just found.
I am doing my best to try to get any old photos she might have had on here of her and her mother (she has so few of them that even the possibility of this being on there is precious to us) but it is password protected and if I "restore" it... it will defeat the entire purpose and erase any photos still there!!p please

Sorry, I'll try being rude to you this time maybe that will help you understand.
The ONLY way, genius, to clear the passcode without restoring it is to use means that are not supported by Apple and we are NOT ALLOWED to discuss here which is why I was being so vague.
So I will go ahead and break the rules for your benefit despite your name calling and rudeness:
Google the phrase "ipod touch passcode unlock without restore" (ignore the quotation marks) and you will get the information, including YouTube videos, that you need to accomplish your mission.
This thread will probably be deleted so save the email you get.

All my efforts have rendered rotated images which have suffered greatly in quality, does anyone have any ideas?

remember the aspect of the screen changes when you rotate, consequently you get squat images or elongations... rescale for the accurate aspect once you are done.
