Trying to build a report

Hello,
I am using obiee 11g.
Have one situation let me explain i hope i can explain well.
I have a user hierarchy in a tableA,
Where there are 5 level means 5 col
Level1 is the highest and level5 is the lowest for a user
Now what i want is
Now i have a dropdown in the report where all the usernames are there which belongs to either level1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5
Now as i select a username then i must be able to get all the immeditate people lower then him in my report?
Lke if level3 is ABC
Then if i select ABC
Then his immediate lower level4,,,, all the users should be visible...
How to do this in a report?Not getting any idea

those are values or characters ,if you want based upon sorting u can do that first give parameter after :paramter=>values then print

    Hi all,
    i´ve tried to build a report with these report vi´s for the first time.
    Because of this i´ve looked at the sample report vi´s first,
    but it seems that none of these is working (lot´s of error messages, eg:
    subvi isn´t executeabel).
    So - why??? Has anyone the same problem???
    Are the sample vi´s bad???

    Okay, I finally found it. Here is the information sent to me from NI tech support:
    1. delete NI-Report from my registry
    2. delete the folder named ni-reports from ..\National Instruments\shared
    3. reinstall the LV 6 Run-Time Engine from the ftp site: http://www.ni.com
    -> downloads -> drivers and updates -> LabVIEW
    Hope that this helps. It worked for me anyway.

  • Not able to build the reports in Bi Publisher with Teradata as a datasource

    In BIP, For Teradata JDBC connection got established and now while i am trying to build a datamodel then its throwing me the error
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
    If i am trying to click on any other thing like report i am getting error(just error with out any message)
    Plssss let me know what it is and do i need to change anything ........

    I'm trying to run SSRS report (Custom Reports) for Dynamics CRM 2011. However, when I try to run the report from the Reporting Manager it errors out "User Was Not Found"!

    Can you preview the report in Report Builder or Report Designer?
    Based on the error message, the issue may related to a invalid user account for the report data source credentials.Please verify the user account is valid and has sufficient permission to access CRM data source.

    Hey All,
    I am trying to build birt from source for adding some logging entries for troubleshooting. The jars I got are in viewer folder, not in the engine folder.
    Could any one tell me how to build report engine from source?

    4.5.0 from the source code.
    The GIT repository seems not to contain the BIRT source code and the
    downloadable source archives contain only jars of which I don't know how
    to make a buildable Eclipse project from.

  • Error when  building a report from 2 different subject areas

    Hello Experts,
    I am using obiee 11.1.1.5.
    I have 5 dimension D1,D2,D3,D4,D5 connected to fact1 and 4 dimension connected to fact2 such as D1,D2,D6,D7.
    where D1,D2 is common to both the facts.
    Fact1 Is in subject area 1 and Fact2 is in subject area2.
    I need to create a report by adding columns of  subject area 1 and 2 with columns from all the dimensions D1,D2....D7.
    As of now i am getting error stating "No fact table exists at the requested level of detail " when i try to add columns from 2 different subject areas.
    Can anyone help me in solving the above problem.
    Is there any prerequisite to be taken care when  building a report from 2 different subject areas.

    I was able to solve the error by doing below steps in additional what you have specified
    -->For the fact table LTSs, set the logical level in the Content tab to the dimension's lowest level for each conforming dimension (leave the non-conforming dimensions level blank).
    Now I have another requirement i,e
    I need to have non measure columns such as Date into the newly created fact in BMM layer.
    I tried doing the steps which I followed for measure column, but it is throwing the same error which I get earlier.
    Below is the error

    I'm I missing some libs or sources from OpenSSL ?
    And/or need to point them out so that make/gcc can find them?
    I have copy haproxy from another machine where I did the build process on.
    But I would like to be able to build it on my SLES 11 SP3 installation.

    So you're trying to build HAProxy 1.5.5 from source?
    Do you have libopenssl and libopenssl-devel installed? What does "rpm
    -qa | grep ssl" report?
    You might have better luck installing HAProxy 1.5.5 already built for
    SLES11 SP3 via the openSUSE Build Service @

  • Urgent help! trying to create basic report with prompt.

    I'm trying to create a report which allows a user to select a item_id value (using either a LOV or manually entering a text_id) and then too display output.
    for some reason apex does not like the '&' prompt, in the SQL.
    Any help or suggestions, would be great? this is quite straightforward so it must be something I'm doing wrong!
    sql statement below:
    select i.item_id, i.title, d.date_logged, d.details
    from tracking_issues i, tracking_details d
    where i.item_id=&item_id
    and i.item_id=d.item_id

    Apex is building a JSP, so instead of you running the page and it poping up a input box that you might be familar with if you run your sql in TOAD or SQL Nav it is waiting on your input(text box/LOV) to populate the item_id field. You need to build your LOV on something like select item_id d, item_id r from items and then once you select that item in the LOV the page will(should - based on how your branch is set up) to the page you are on and your report is displayed.
    Also make sure in your branch you are setting the LOV item name to the value you select for it in the branch since the page needs re-submit.
    Your select statement for your report should look like:
    select item_id, title
    from tracking_issues
    where item_id=:p1_LOV
    --where p1_lov is the name of your LOV

    Your need to use your starthere URL variable as the value of
    the <cfoutput> startrow attribute. The way your code is
    currently set up, you startrow is hard coded to always be 1.
    e.g.:
    <cfoutput query="qstats" startrow="#URL.starthere#"
    maxrows="100">
    not:
    <cfoutput query="qstats" startrow="1" maxrows="100">
    That way it uses the value passed in from the starthere URL
    variable.

    First, I agree with Karol, use the AUR so that pacman can do its job.  Second, when you do your make, there is no reason to run it as root (until you do the make install)  For the initial build, it is much safer to not use root; plus all the files in your home directory will continue to belong to use, not to root.
    But, try the AUR.

    after reading some posts on forum i tried builduing an exe on other system also, but still i am getting the same error.

    That being said I would try to disable the large amount of code.  Say you have a Main that launches a bunch of stuff, put a disabled diagram code around the launching part and then try to rebuild.  It is a very slow process (especially when the build takes a while to fail) but by doing this you can more isolate the parts of the code that can cause the crash.  The only time I've seen a crash on build like you described, I simply rebooted and it was fine.  Usually because of my own fault by stopping code in a bad way previously leaving things in memory.

    I build a table with a column of type ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE then I
    build a form using wizard and populate the table by uploading
    intermedia type and I can make query on that form and see the
    image. But when I build a report using wizard, the report result
    shows image data as it is in text format.
    Am I doing something wrong or there is another way to make
    report on ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE column type.

    This could be because, you might have the display type as text
    instead of html for this column.
    Could you pls verify this by selecting as html and try running
    the report. If it still not working then pls post your Portal
    Version so that we can verify it out here. Presently, it is
    working fine for me.
