Trying to build pacman ...

... but makepkg is struggling to download the source, even though I can easily do it via web browser.
So, after extrating the source, and realising that I can now do:
makepkg -e
I then get:

    I'm trying to build HTMLDOC as part of my larger attempt to install FOG which is a free ghost clone. I'm running into a make error 1 presumably related to the png configuration. But if it is the png conf, I'm not sure how to pinpoint what part is causing the error. Your help is kindly appreciated.

    First, I agree with Karol, use the AUR so that pacman can do its job.  Second, when you do your make, there is no reason to run it as root (until you do the make install)  For the initial build, it is much safer to not use root; plus all the files in your home directory will continue to belong to use, not to root.
    But, try the AUR.

  • Build pacman occurs test error on other architecture (sh4)

    I was trying to build Archlinux on sh4 cpu by cross-compile.
    But, I found it is very difficult for me.
    So, I changed to another method, build it on sh4  directly (slow cpu & 256M ram).
    After build several library, I've compiled pacman.
    There are three unexpected fail when I run 'make check'.
    How could I let it pass all test?
    BTW, my sh4 environment is still messy, there contains STLinux,fedora,home-made packages.
    Only a few library which is build following the PKGBUILD steps.
    One of the bad thing, it is still bash 3.0.

    I am trying to build an executable from a program in which i am communicating with several instruments, whenever i am trying to build an exe labview is crashing and i am getting the error Exception: access violation(0xc0000005)at eip=0x10054DD1.
    after reading some posts on forum i tried builduing an exe on other system also, but still i am getting the same error.

    That being said I would try to disable the large amount of code.  Say you have a Main that launches a bunch of stuff, put a disabled diagram code around the launching part and then try to rebuild.  It is a very slow process (especially when the build takes a while to fail) but by doing this you can more isolate the parts of the code that can cause the crash.  The only time I've seen a crash on build like you described, I simply rebooted and it was fine.  Usually because of my own fault by stopping code in a bad way previously leaving things in memory.

  • Just trying to build DBD-Oracle

    here is the setup Oracle 8i on NT and I want to connect to the DB from Linux using perl. I tried to build DBD-Oracle but this fails b/c I need to have the client portion of oracle installed to build this. So I started fooling around trying to install Oracle on Linux and I get a whole bunch of errors saying
    "Warning: translation table syntax error: Unknown keysym name: osfSelect
    Warning: ... found while parsing ':<Key>osfSelect: set-anchor()'
    Then this is followed by a long list of java errors. The question is: Do I have have to install all fight this installation battle to build DBD-Oracle or is there an easier way to do it that I don't know about.

    So you're trying to build HAProxy 1.5.5 from source?
    Do you have libopenssl and libopenssl-devel installed? What does "rpm
    -qa | grep ssl" report?
    You might have better luck installing HAProxy 1.5.5 already built for
    SLES11 SP3 via the openSUSE Build Service @
    https://build.opensuse.org/package/s...ackage=haproxy

  • Error when trying to build to iOS

    I am using Flash Buidler 4.7 on a Mac OS X 10.7 with latest java version 1.7 (64bits), I am trying to build some samples provided on this page:

    I can test on the AIR simulator, but when I try to build on iOS simulator or device, I get the following error:

    I don't really understand the error, does it means I need to remove the java version and install another one? And old one or a 32bit one? I'm not sure

  • SQL SP works, then throws 0x80040E14 after trying to build executable

    I have test software in LabVIEW 2011 that logs results into our SQL Server database with a stored procedure.  Once I got it working consistently, I checked it into our Visual Sorce Safe.  It was working until I tried to build the software into an executable.  Upon trying to log results in the executable, I received the following -2147217900 error when trying to execute the stored procedure (the ati_sp_InsertProcedureRun stored procedure) to create the procedure run in the database:

    What's really odd is that I began receiving this error in the development environment.  On multiple computers.  I have verified that the code is still the same as before; I pulled the VI from Source Safe, which predated the last time I successfully logged results.
    I don't know if attempting to run as an executable was the precipitating event.  Around the same time, I attempted to solve a problem where the test software kept referring to VIs from the 2010 Database Connectivity Toolkit by uninstalling the 2010 Database Connectivity Toolkit and letting LabVIEW update the called VIs to the 2011 versions and saving.  I've also since tried repairing and then uninstalling and reinstalling the 2011 Database Connectivity Toolkit.
    Attached is a standalone implementation of my database logging code, a little sanitized for proprietary information.  Has anyone encountered similar mysterious errors when changing from 2010 to 2011 or when building executables?  The code I'm using is the same, and IS assures me that there have been no changes to the database.

    Hello,
    So far I have been unable to see anything that gives me a lead as to what the problem could be.  For this I am sorry.I think both of us will have one of those face palm moments.
    I have a question and comment for you,  does the Code still work on the original computer?
    Second,  I think it would help if you compiled a version of code with the ability to highlight execution. after being installed as an executable.  Try running the executable (in highlight mode) on the other computers and see where it breaks.
    Could you also send me a version of your code in Highlight execution mode?
    As for me I downloaded your code and I was unable to get it to even run on my computer.

  • While trying to build a dll I revive an error

    I succeed to build the dll on one computer, but when I am trying to build the same code on other computer I receive the attached error.
    Please find the h file that Labview build on the first computer.

    Hi Gabi,
    It is recommended by NI to install LV2009_SP1. It has fixed many issues. Here is the link to NI LabVIEW 2009 Service Pack 1

  • Once repository downloaded, and then I deleted .repo folder. Again trying for building the source. Then it is failing to Build the source with .repo error.

    Hi,
    I have downloaded the repository source (1.4) for nexus-4. Trying to build the source after deleting .repo folder.
    If I delete that folder it is not building at all.
    please suggest me to handle this scenario. due to space issue I have removed the .repo folder.
