Trying to build this mid/top range PC for PrePro & AE
Upfront thanks for your comments and tips for my coming machine.
I spend a lot of hours on this forum and came up with this conf.
Fractal design Define R3 (bigtower case)
Ocz zx 850 gold
Asus P8Z68 deluxe mobo (easy overclocking, i think.. is 4,.8 to 5.2 easy possible?)
Intel 2600k cpu
Scythe mugen 2 rev.B cpu cooler
LG BH10ls30 BR burner
4x Hitachi Dekstar7K3000 , 3Tb hd's (footage) in raid 10, less demanding on cpu compare to raid 3 or 5? or not with the Z68 chip?
2x WD Velocirapter 150GB (1 for OS, 1 for pagefile, scratch)
(output/back up via Esata to external disks)
MS 7 professional
Kinston 16GB DDr3 1600Hz kit
Zotac Geforce GTX 480 1500 mb memory
What would you change?

Your build looks well thought out, so just a few minor thoughts...
- Suggest substituting 2 1TB 7200 drives in a RAID 0 configuration in place of the single VR 150GB you were planning (much faster for video purposes, not much more cost)
- Stick w/ RAID 10 for your 4x3TB RAID; RAID 3 is not supported by Intel Z68 solution and RAID 5 is not advised unless you get a good hardware controller (for speed and robustness reasons)
- GTX 480 is a good solution, but choose one with dual or tripple fans; those designs tend to cool better and run quieter than the "reference" design; Zotac makes both reference and dual-fan GTX 480 cards
- I can't comment on the Fractal Designs case, as I'm not familar with them at all

This problem has been reported by quite a few forum members, who skipped the update to iPhoto 9.5.1 while running Mavericks. In that case try to purchase iPhoto again instead of updating.
After making your backup try the following:
Uninstall iPhoto by deleting it from the applications folder, but do not empty the Trash.
Launch the App Store, click the "Store" menu, and sign in with your AppleID.
Open the main page of the App Store and search for iPhoto.
If iPhoto is listed as "Free", click the "Free" button to buy it with your current AppleID.

hello ive been trying to get this matter token care of for the past 24 hrs and still no help im getting very upset now I paid 100 plus $$ to have this program that isn't even working I would like to speak to someone about on the phone I got a 1800 number for tech but everytime I call it hangs up and says to chat........ ive been doing that all day yesterday its kinda getting old telling the same thing over n over again so I would like some real live help a number I can call or someone can call me 402 802 1211 everytime I try to do something on this it ask for my serial num I put it in and it says invalid number and when I do my pics it has trail across them

I am trying to build an adaptive bitrate VOD player for AMS 5.
I can't get a f4m to play to save my life. It also doesnt help that i have yet to find a resource that has a proper f4m structure. Every single one, from Adobe.com to Lynda.com all set it up differntly and none of them are for AMS 5. I keep getting error messages from the StrobeMediaPlayback.swf saying that the f4m is not formed correctly.
Also, all of the tutorials use LOCALHOST, which does not apply to me because i have access to a server with AMS 5 on it.
I can get a single video to stream if i do a direct path to the video rather than a path to the F4M file, but that's not what i am trying to do.
IN MY PLAYER, i have a full URL for the VOD.f4m. For privacy reasons, i removed it.
These are the 3 ways i have tried to format my F4M file (all of them were from 'official' tutorials)

Can anyone shed light as to why this does not work?1. Have you verified that the server is streaming properly? The individual streams in the manifest file stream?
2. Use the generator at rootinstall/tools/f4mconfig/configurator/f4mconfig.html to generate the manifest file. -

This fixed my problem. For the last year I could not update after iOS 4 was released, restore or restore from a back up on my iMac model from mid 2007 with intel. The only way around this problem was to use my old HP laptop to use my Apple products. After several phone calls to Apple support, nobody at Apple could figure this out. I was told I would have to pay Apple for the support because my iMac was not under warranty. I have searched the web on and off to try several different solutions and all except this one have failed. If others have found this, I must have missed it in the forums. I am only posting this to help anyone that has had this issue.Downgrading the iOS is not supported. You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.

if anyone has same problem to open their hosts file,here is a short video and you have to type "sudo nano /private/etc/hosts" ,not "sudo nano/private/etc/hosts",remember there is a space between "nano_/private"

I have restored my iPod touch 4G to the iOS 4.3.5, then I tryed to update/restore with the iOS 5 and it pops an error saying my device isn't eligible for this build, how can I solve this issue?
Here's what I found about the error you mentioned, copied from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart. Also, using an older or modified .ipsw file can cause this issue. Try moving the current .ipsw file, or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw. -

I adquired yesterday the appleTv 2g. It comes with the 4.2.1 (2100) firmware. I would like o update it to the ios 5. But I press "restore" button on itunes, it downloaded the 4.4.1 and it keep saying: "This device isn't eligible for the requested build".
I don't know what's happening. Can anybody help me?

If they are superceded or revoked the digital signature can be unobtainable.
Many have posted issues with 4.4 and 4.4.1 and at least one site suggests these firmwares have been revoked pending bug fixes.
I have not tried to update yet - when issues are posted I prefer to stick with what I've got.
You may be able to update to 4.3 via itunes, the last 'good' version. -

SOLUTION FOR ALL.
This works. Thanks. The best way to do this is through the terminal. Just do the following commands in terminal:
Type sudo su
Press enter
Then enter your password and hit enter
Type vi /etc/hosts
Move your cursor with the down arrow to the line that has gs.apple.com without a # at the beginning of the line.
Move cursor to the beginning of that line.
Type i# then press the esc key.
Type :wq
Press enter
Type exit
Press enter
Now you can quit out of the terminal application. This likely is a problem caused by Tiny Umbrella denying itunes communicating with the apple servers. -

And/or need to point them out so that make/gcc can find them?
I have copy haproxy from another machine where I did the build process on.
But I would like to be able to build it on my SLES 11 SP3 installation.

So you're trying to build HAProxy 1.5.5 from source?
Do you have libopenssl and libopenssl-devel installed? What does "rpm
-qa | grep ssl" report?
You might have better luck installing HAProxy 1.5.5 already built for
SLES11 SP3 via the openSUSE Build Service @
https://build.opensuse.org/package/s...ackage=haproxy
