Trying to burn a CD...nothing working

Question

I have a new Gateway computer with Windows and I just downloaded itunes last week, bought $25 worth of music and have not been able to burn it to a CD. I do not own an ipod. I have read all of these postings and nothing has worked for me.
I have been highlighting the playlist and clicking the burn icon in the upper right corner. It seems to be burning the first song and then it just stops. I do not get any errors or any messages. The Burn icon just goes back to Browse. I know the songs are authorized b/c I can play them on my computer.

Drive is empty.
The last failed data CD or DVD burn had error code -128(0xffffff80). It happened on drive D: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-832S on -128(0xffffff80) media at speed 0X.
I cannot find any way to contact Apple. This is absolutely ridiculous. If no solution is found, can I get my $25 back?

OK, just to be awkward, this is the exact same conversation that a number of us are having on a different forum elsewhere on this site...the link to one of these is below. Apple are being totally ***** about it, no help at all, and those who can find a fix find it by luck, accident or freak-of-nature. Here's hoping for itunes 7 to sort this out...but please all carry on with the pressure in the meantime!
