Trying to call Northern Ireland; no country code f...
I am actually trying to call northern ireland, and there is no country code in skype for that. I do have credits my calls are not going thru.

A Skype Number is just a regular landline number and can be called by anyone from anywhere. What error message did the caller receive? Make sure your privacy settings allow calls from anyone and save any changes. This is a common mistake made by users who have Skype Numbers.

How can I make local calls without using a country code when it's in my Contacts?
The phone numbers in my Contacts all contain country codes because I do a lot of travelling.
An example of this might be:
+1 (229) 123-4567
+44 (0)12 345 6789
+31 (0)10 2345 6789
I have an unlocked phone so when I travel, I usually pick up a local SIM and use that to make calls.
The problem I have is that when I am abroad and select a phone number from my contact list it doesn' work. For example, if I select a contact with the number:
+31 (0)10 2345 6789
A voice-recording comes on saying that the number I had dialed was incorrect.
But when I dial the number manually:
010 2345 6789
It works.
In the US I do not have this problem because for some reason, the phone knows whether the +1 is needed or not. I'm sure if it uses it at all when you're in the US. When I dial internationally from within the US, the number dialing works fine.
So this problem only occurs when I'm dialing locally in the country I'm in while travelling outside the US.
Anyone have any idea of why this is happening and more importantly, what I need to do to fix this? I would hate to have go and change all my contact numbers and get rid of the country codes. If I ever have to call those numbers internationally, I'll need to manually add the country code back in.

Advice anyone?If you include a country number, you have to drop the initial 0 from the area code. eg +31 10 2345 6789 instead of +31 (0)10 2345 6789

All my contacts are stored with country code for eg +233 244 123456. Contact names do not appear during incoming calls.

I forgot my security answers, so I wanted to call apple. I looked through the list of countries of where I could call but my country was not there(South Africa) so I decided that I would call the UK. I clicked call now and I had to type in my phone number but my area code was not available, what should I do?

The 1.17 update...nice step forward.
I am however still trying to get the few unresolved country codes found in our data, resolved.
ie. for whatever some data for Spain is tag SP, the ISO code is ES.. So I tried to replace SP with ES in PREPARE tab..but the hierarchy still sees SP.
I cannot manually type in the country name or assign it to any country I want in the reconcile menu.
So I am stuck with a few codes I cannot assign anywhere, even though I know the country..
I would have thought a replace data x with y would have done it...or let me bypass the automatic logic and manually place unresolved data in the right place.
other than editing the source Excel file, I see no option.
other ideas?

jimIt's probably not refreshing the hierarchy after you did the replace (my guess)
Could you create a second hierarchy to see if it fixes it?
I keep meaning to try the Esri Maps (as a trial solution) to see if that fixes the unresolved mapping issues but haven't yet - see How to use Esri Maps in SAP Lumira -

How can I call contacts from my list without the country code that is registered with that contact?
I have all my contacts registered with a country code. When I want to make calls from my iphone, I do not want the phone to dial the country code, but only the area code. How can I make that happen?
Your 3G backup contains your contacts already, you don't need to sync them to Outlook or anything just restore the backup file from the 3G onto the 4S and you should be good to go.

Or were you referring to the one in the old temporary replacement device? Would that even be compatible with the newer phones?
The one that wasn't working had a 4G LTE SIM card in it. It should have usable in the replacement Razr. It was only until I read the OP a third time this morning that there might be a third device involved. It would be nice if people would give more specifics on what devices are active at what time. Then the readers of this community can follow the progression of the events better. -
I am currently in Cameroon, Africa and after arriving here, I added Global services to my plan in hopes to be able to use my phone to call local numbers. When I dial local numbers in Cameroon, with or without the country code, the call fails. I suspect it may be that the phone is 3G and this area only supports 2G. Help!

Hi, Thilina66. You say you have entered the country code but still cannot make international calls. I suppose you are adding the international access code before the country code. This internaltional access code (011 in the US, 00 in Europe, etc.) can be substituted by adding a + sign before the country code.
For example, to call a number in the UK from the US you have to dial:
011 44 7540 267898
or
+44 7540 267898
To call a number in the US from the UK you have to dial:
00 1 212 456 1470
or
+1 212 456 1470
Please check that the contact number in your address book is correctly written if you are dialing directly from the address book or that you enter the correct numbers in the keyboard if you are dialing from the keyboard. -

I use an iphone 5 ..my problem is whenevr i set a picture of my contacts in their contacts info..the picture never shows up when they call me..i even added my country code to their no. but it still didnt solve the problem..so wat shud i do now?

i m from india and i have bought my iphone4 from india.After purchasing everything runs ok but i cant get the name for the number which has not added the country code.This problem with my mobile only because my friend has same mobile but he has no problem. he has saved so many names without country code and he is getting the name on the screen.did you insert your sim card into the new phone?
have you contacted your carrier to activate the new phone?
your phone may be just fine but just not activated with your carrier....
