Trying to change computers for my ipod please help!!!!!
my question is this. I bought a new notebook ,and I downloaded the itunes software. I can not access any of my old play lists that were on my other computer. How can I get those on this computer. Any help would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance..

If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. The transfer of purchased content to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7, look under under File>"Transfer Purchases from iPod". A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
If your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting to your new computer and an empty iTunes. You will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Don't uncheck Sync Music it will be unchecked by default when you choose the manual setting: Managing content manually on iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

After downloading IOS 8.0.2 on my iPhone 5, my email messages are not coming through automatically. JesseHi Chris. Thanks, for the suggestions re: my email issues. They were helpful and yes I did check all items you referenced. I even contacted Apple support and spent about 40 minutes on phone checking all settings. However, after all these efforts, my mail and calendar issues were not resolved. Apple Support finally recommended deleting the mail account and then reloading it - and it worked! I am now receiving my emails and calendar appts. in real time again.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone elest has a similar problem with mail/calendar after downloaing i.O.S. 8.1 onto iPhone 5.

Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.

Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

No. If it states designed for both iPad and iPhone, then it won't run on an iPod touch.

You must be using an update CD. You need the software that has the full version first - install that, then you can use the update one if needed. I know, cuz I made the same mistake - lol

I have been trying to put some of my music and artwork, on youtube. Youtube says you need an encoder to upload music. But the problem is the only encoders available are for windows. Please help, thank you

Since YouTube supports AAC, the file format iTunes uses by default, it's probable you don't need any sort of converter.

I did force shutdown on my MacBook Pro (2006 year, 15.4"), so, when I tried to boot, it shows apple logo (as usual) and shuts down. When I booting MacBook with Option key pressed it shows lock icon and field for password. Please help me.
Wait for advice on repairing a damaged filesystem. Forceshutdown stops processs in mid-stream and leaves some parts not-valid.
Do not proceed until you get that avice. -
HP iPod versus Apple iPod (please help my HP iPod is in ipod heaven :( )
I have a 20G HP+iPod that i bought from cosco that i use with my apple computer. Everything has been working fine until one day when i turned it on and a "sad ipod" flashed up on the screen. When i turned it back on it worked as normal so i thought nothing of it. A little later while listening the ipod froze up so i resetted it. After reseting it a folder with an exclamation mark came up. A little later though it started working again and it worked for a couple of days. I was listening to my ipod in the car for a long time until the batteries ran out and when i plugged it back in the folder with the exclamation mark came up. So i went the apple.com/support and it said i have to restore it. Now this HP iPod would not restore. everytime i restored it it would say an error has occured. Finally i get the thing to restore and i plug it in to put in all my songs again. Unfortunatly my iPod freezes in the middle of uploading the songs so i gave up. Today i tried restoring it again. And updating it again. it froze again. I give up now so i am returning my iPod to cosco tommorow...
Now here is my question. Is an HP iPod different than an Apple one. Because after returning my HP iPod to cosco i am thinking about going to buy a new Apple iPod but i am afraid that it might not be any different than the HP one. (and yes i am defienatly planning on buying the insurance for it). Please help! (good thing about cosco u get a full refund for anything)The HP has the same hardware as the apple one. The warranties and service offered by each company is where the differences lie.
Since your iPod broke so early with those icons, it was probably a lemon and the HD was having issues.
Since you have a mac though, get an apple iPod because HP doesn't support any connection issues between an HP iPod and a mac.

Hi, I have just bought another ipod, I have now a 60GB video ipod and a new 8GB ipod. Does it pose any problem when synchronising ? Can they have different names ? ThksYou can name your iPod whatever you like. If you are connecting a second iPod for your own use, just connect it to your computer and it will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update the whole library, selected playlists or you can manage it manually.
When using a small capacity iPod like the Nano with a large library, you can choose the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - All songs and Playlists in iTunes 7). This would allow you to create a playlist specifically for your Nano and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Nano (around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB).
