Trying to compress the m2v file

I have a two hour seq exported from fcp into compressor, and compressed at best quality 4:3 2 hr. The file size when finised was over 5 gig. I want to author a dvd using dvd stuio pro 4, but the file size of my m2v is two big.
What should be my next step. I need to make the file no bigger then 4 gigs. I have mpeg streamclip, but can't figure how that will help. Any suggestion. Thankyou.
I could export from compresser at fastest quality 4:3 2 hrs. The first time I compressed it took around 5 hrs.

thanks. thats whats i did. double click the settings of my compression, and then it alowed me to change teh "Mbps and the bit rate". it also tells me how much time it allow me to have my video content.
If I have a M2V file thats 5 or 6 gigs (took me me 5 hrs to compress), and I authored a dvd with a total a litel over 6 gigs. Is there a way to build the dvd and create video_ts files, and then I can take it to a program like dvd2to1. Or do I have to compress the original all over again. It just took 5 hrs, and since I already have the file, I don't want to compress it using compressor again. Thankyou. e.

Trying to edit the .js file again, but...I now have TWO .js files

RE: Putting a song into my iweb page, following Mike Wong's instructions with considerable and valuable help along the way from James Tseng.
I have spent all day working at this and failing countless times.
I finally got to the point where I was supposed to edit/change the .js file with the changes in height from 32 to 16, the controllers from true to false, the autoplays from false to true, and the loop from false to true.
Although I was not totally clear on what was going on, I slogged through it and had to re-do it and still have to re-do it because thus far the song is not on the page. Meanwhile, due to a townhall meeting that I went to, the site will be getting more visitors, and I want a song on that page.
MY QUESTION AT THIS POINT:
I have TWO .js files for that particular page in my iDisk. Shouldn't I have just ONE .js file? I started out with only one .js file and I worked on it and have no idea how TWO .js files got there with the .html files and all the others.
I was under the impression that if I changed something on that particular page and then republished, I would end up with a brand new fresh, up to date .js file. But No. I still have TWO .js files and at this point when I have to go back and re-do the information changes that I listed above, I do not know which .js file to pick.
Beyond that, I am disturbed (1) that I have TWO of those .js files, and (2) why, when I changed the page and republished, I did not end up with just ONE .js file, new and up to date and unburdened by the other two pages that may be wrong or who knows what.
If this is an omen that I should just quit tryingto put another song on my page, then maybe for now I will just relax and give it a rest. I do have ONE song on my page, but that was with a lot of hand-holding help and although I did take notes, I apparently did not take sufficiently good notes to see me through a solitary run.
I would appreciate any input on the issue of why I have two .js files and why republishing did not resolve said problem.
I don't feel that I should try to edit html on the wrong page.

Somehow you duplicated your js file. No big deal;
but I don't know which one to tell you to delete.
Would it be a big deal to just republish your site
and start over?

I just now did that. You can read my report in the post.
When you edit your js file with an editor, all you
will do is "Save" the changes. You're not going to
"Republish" the changes. Just click "Save" and
that's it.

And that is exactly what i did! I clicked Save. Didn't get me my song on the page, though.
Assuming you have successfully converted/compressed
the audio file and that part of it is done, for now,
let's just worry about changing SIX WORDS in the js
file. That's all you need to do...republish the
thing and well get it figured out.

I did. I selected the .js file. I opened it with Text Edit (learning so many new things.) I went thru all the text between thet two words <object and object>. And I clicked Save.
No song.

at the end, you say "import preferences", which program are you describing?
So im safer using footage that is remotely being pulled from iphoto...
vs
using footage that is imported into FCP from imovie?
Is there anything i can do in fcp to make this footage more reliable or safer or more stable as i pull remotely from iphoto?
All the footage, and all the libraries to all programs, or on a new pegasus 12tb raid 5 setup fyi.

DVD Movie is "lighter" than the M2v File - ?????

I need help . . . . again!
I used the NTSC monitor to color and export the my short film and it looked FINE. Many of the scenes were dimmed (darkened Intentionally) intentionally to create and omnious effect.
I had to take the monitor back but everything seemed fine. I exported the project via Compressor - Best - 90 minute setting.
I watched the M2V on the computer and it looked great, so I imported the M2V into DVD pro and created a very basic DVD.
I burned the DVD pro project to DVD using Toast Titanium 6.
Now here's the twist. When I watched the DVD on TV, the images were significally ligter than in the M2V file and the DVD SP viewer.
I said ok, let me put the DVD into the computer and see if it looks different on the computer LCD and it did not, it was still lighter.
I then did a side by side comparison - with the M2V screen up on the left and the Mac DVD player screen up on the right. I went to the same frame in both and behold, the DVD version is noticable ligher. Things that are concealed by Shadow in the M2V can be seen in the DVD version.
Is it possible that something in the burn process did this. Or could it be that I saved the file a certain way in DVD SP and that did it?
I don't think it's an issue with Compressor, because why didn;t the M2V file look light on the computer.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It's probably not a problem with Toast or DVD SP. It's the same old display and TV calibration issue that many complain about. Try this with Apple's DVD Player -- switch to an NTSC display profile and see what the DVD looks like then. However, the latter is not a "fix," just an example of how display gamma and calibration can affect results.

It's tough to tell without seeing more of your code, but it might be that you're missing these lines of code at the top of your actions window:

Try extracting part of the file and see if the extracted part can be Exported. If so, repeat with the next set of pages. When done, try to load all into the first file.

The best you can do is pre-plan your project.
- use compressed images;
- use less dependency on local font or script references and use CDN or available web services instead;

Using firefox browser v.4.0.1, a blank page comes up when trying to download the .torrent file(s). Previously it was working. When the "Download" button was pressed, it used to ask for the location where the .torrent files is to be saved. But now on pressing the "Download" button, a blank page comes up.I do not know when the firefox browser was updated to 4.0.1. (as it is configured to automatically update itself). I tried to see the debugging information in "Java Console", "Error Console", "Web Console", "Page Info" under the Tools option, but I can't make sense out of it. Kindly help.

If you remove the mimeTypes.rdf file then all current download actions should be removed and Firefox should ask what to do.

Cannot compress the WebFolders file

Hi,
I encountered an error when I try to backup an AppSet.
It was Cannot compress the WebFolders file.
Anybody can help to solve this issue?

To compress the webfolder the BPC is using zip of windows.
Windows zip can not be used if the appset webfolder is bigger than 2GB.
If the size of yor appsetr webfolder is smaller than 2GB then the problem it is other.
In this case you have a file without owner.
That's means you have to use explore to select the appfolder to click right and properties of that folder.
You have to go to security and click on button advance
Go to tab owner and there you have to be sure that you have at least one user.
Select check box "Replace owner..." and after that ok, ok, ok
After that you have to go one more time into security of that webfolder and to propagate the security to all childrens.
If you did all these things then you should be able to backup the appset. (at least to zip the webfolders)

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Trying to delete the Apple Folder from Program Files/Common Files. I can delete all the contents except for the Internet Services folder which prevents me from making the deletion. The error message says "you need permission to delete this file".
Discovered this problem when trying to upgrade from my 3G iPhone to a new 5S iPhone unsucessfully.
