Trying to configure WRT54G v5 to block ping
I am trying to configure my WRT54G v5 to block ping requests with no luck. I have ensured to check off the option to "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" as well as block the ping service. When i ping my router i am still getting a response.
Can anyone offer some suggestions as to what i might try to remedy this issue.

Trying to configure WRT54GS as a wireless client
I have a WRT54GS v6 wireless router which I would like to configure as a wireless client.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible?
My main gateway/router on my main PC is a WAG354G v2. Another PC in the house connects to the gateway/router via a Linksys PCI card.
There is a third PC in the house (with a lot of media on it) which, for some reason, is unable to access the WRT router at all, but I have successfully connected to the router from a laptop with an ethernet PCMCIA adapter and updated the firmware to the latest revision.
So far, so good.
Now, in the short term, it would be useful to connect the WRT router to PC3 in order to retrieve the media there - via ethernet would be fine, via wireless would be better.
Once that is done, it would be similarly useful to have the WRT router set to connect to the main gateway router for internet access and network filesharing and use it as the client for the laptop. I know there are easier ways, but I won't bore you with the details as to why and what I have tried and tested in this respect.
So, is it possible to do what I want?

DMAs per my under standing you need WRT54GS router connected to computer for internet access & file sharing ..... but in that case the WRT54GS router should be connected to main router using Ethernet cable at the back panel at internet port.....
After such connection ......the second router will able to provide internet to computer connected to either 1-4 any port....
It is not possible to let the router connected to computer only..... because the WRT54GS will generate signals ........but connected to that will not make you online ...... -
I am trying to configure my SCXI-1540 w/1315 card for excitation voltage and frequency using MAX - but it is not giving me that option when I click on the card and then properties, am I looking in the wrong place?
I have LabVIEW Express 7.0 Professional - SCXI-1000 Chassiss - along with SCXI-1112, and SCXI 1520/1314 - cable to the PCI-6052E is attached to the 1520 card.
MAX says it recognizes all the cards in the chassiss.Jeremy, Thanks for the reply.
I tried to set up the system as DAQmx.
I had MAX auto-detect the set-up - and it recognized all the cards - but did not select the 1315 accessory on the 1540 card - I had to do that manually - but in the configuration section I would select the accessory and it would deselect itself. I had to get out of the set-up and then right click on the 1540 card and click on the "Accessories" tab and select the 1315 terminal block that way.
It didn't seem right that the system should behave that way, but I pressed onward.
I then tried to create a new DAQmx Task
When I create new DAQmx task and then click on Analog Input no "Position" Tab appears for me to select, all I get are:

Do you think there might be something wrong with either my hardware or perhaps my configuration that is not allowing it to recognize the 1540/1315 in DAQmx?
I had included the system report of what programs I am using, etc. as attached file nireport.txt
After the DAQmx did not work I tried installing everything as Traditional DAQ and it did let me set-up the 1540 Card with Excitation Voltage and Frequency and gain - I then went in to the VI that I had built and tried to use the Express DAQ Assisant to read the channel that I am connected to on the 1315/1540 - when I try to use DAQ Assistant it gives me an error saying that "Device not available in NI-DAQmx. It is possible that the device is being use by traditional NI-DAQ"
Which I guess it is since both configurations are now set-up in MAX.
I would PREFER to use the DAQmx set-up, but I am confused as to WHY it won
't come up with
Analog input>>POSITION>>LVDT
When I try to create a new DAQmx task.

Trying to configure a network connection on Fresh installation!
Hello,
I am new here. I am trying to configure a network connection. I prefer to configure a static Ip connection. So, i want to follow this guide-article:

At the bottom of the page Static ip Network is located. So my main question is what is container and what is host?
Also, i would like a tip if possible, My computer is connected to a switch which gives IP to many computers. For this situation what is best? DHCP or static IP?

I am trying to configure two WRV200 from 2 different loca...
I am trying to configure two WRV200 from 2 different location and ADSL
accounts. One location has PPPoE and the other has PPPoA. Both of it are
having a Speedtouch 356 6V modem. The router which using PPPoE and having a DDNS from TZO.com has no problem with the Quick VPN but the router which using a PPPoA connection could not able to connect even the quick VPN.
There is an option to ridirect the Public IP of Speedtouch to other network device and I manage to configure it and now my router who is having a PPPoA connection has a Public IP. But still the same problem VPN still not working.
Is there any chance that I could make this router work with the PPPoA connection. I will really appreciate if somebody could help me with this problem.Sorry for making you confuse. Here is the VPN log details of the 2 routers.

How do I block pings from the outside to the ASA 5505 outside interface?
I was asked to block pings from the internet to the outside interface of our ASA-5505 firewall. I found a post that said to enter "icmp deny any outside", however that does not do it.
I created an ACL to try and do the trick, also to no avail:
access-list outside_in extended permit icmp any any echo-reply
access-list outside_in in interface outside
access-group outside_in in interface outside
Anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong? I'm not the firewall guy as you can tell. :/

Block / Deny ICMP Echo (Ping) on Cisco ASA Outside Interface
Most networks that you protect with a Cisco ASA device, will probably want to deny ICMP (maybe not all ICMP types, but a lot of network admins will want to block ICMP Echo, etc.) on the outside interface. This will make the network harder to find through external enumeration, but not impossible.
ASA5505(config)#icmp deny any outside
You will deny ICMP on the outside interface, but if you include ICMP as a protocol in the default global policy map, you can ping from the inside to any host on the outside, and it will be permitted back through the ASA, as it knows about the previous ICMP “connectionYou are allowing echo-reply, thus it will reply to a ping

OIM is not able to Restart the Domain when I am trying to configure it with the Config.sh

I have installed WLS1211 (64-Bit) on OEL 6.3 OS & also installed the OIM 11.1.1.7 (64-Bit) on the same machine.
When I am trying to configure the OIM (using config.sh file), system fails to restart the domain & in turn fails the configuration. I navigated to the domain created for OIM and verified that log file displays following error:

When I tried to google it to find some information I found that I need to provide full access (0777) to the cwallet.sso file available under the MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\domain_name\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\ location. I did this but was not able to succeed.

configure a Win 2003 Server to use TLS server authentication following Method 2 in KB 895443 - see below:-
Method 2: By using the Certificate Request Wizard
The following steps describe how to obtain a certificate from a Windows Server 2003 Certification Authority. You can also request a certificate from a Windows 2000
Certification Authority. Additionally, you must have Read permissions and Enroll permissions on the certificate template file to successfully request a certificate. Use this method if one or more of the following conditions are true:
You want to request a certificate from an Enterprise Certification Authority.
You want to request a certificate that is based on a template where the subject name is generated by Windows.
You want to obtain a certificate that does not require administrator approval before the certificate is issued.
To obtain a certificate, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type mmc, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
Click Add, click Certificates, and then click Add.
Click Computer account, and then click Next.
If you want to add a certificate to the local computer, click Local computer. If you want to add a certificate to a remote computer, click Another
computer, and then type the name of that remote computer in the Another computer box.
Click Finish.
In the Add Standalone Snap-in dialog box, click Close, and then click OK in the Add/Remove
Snap-in dialog box.
Under Console Root, click Certificates (Local Computer).

I get as far as step 11 and I get the error message:-

Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group exists in the domain that hosts the certification authority. This group is in the CN=Users container.

Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group is in the right
pane. If the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group is not in the right pane, go to step 4.

The CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group does not exist.
The default membership of the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group is incorrect.
The CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group does not have the correct permissions.
If any one setting is incorrect, run the following commands at a command prompt. Press ENTER after each command.
certutil -setreg SetupStatus -SETUP_DCOM_SECURITY_UPDATED_FLAG
net stop certsvc
net start certsvc
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to verify that all the settings are correct.
Note If the changes affect the group membership of the certification authority server, you must restart the server for the changes to take effect.
The only part of the above instructions which I have not been able to complete is:-
“you must also add the Enterprise Domain Controllers group to the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group”.
When I click on the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS user then click the Members tab & go to add Enterprise Domain Controllers the option is not there.Hi Nick,
Have you successfully set up an enterprise CA?
If yes, is the enterprise CA’s certificate located under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store?

I am getting below error message while i am trying to configure app server domain in PT 8.48.16. I have uninstall TUXEDO 8.1 and then install 3 times. But, no luck.

When I try to install and configure the Oracle JDriver v.2.0 to work with Commerce
Server 3.5 SP1 and WebLogic Server 6.0 SP2, on starting up the commerce server,
I get the exceptions that follow this message. I cannot run the dbping utility
because it says it cannot find the BEA license file to verify that JDriver is
licensed for use. I looked over previous discussion threads on this particular
Oracle error, and the problem in the previous cases appears to have been use of
the wrong TNS name. I am referencing the same TNS name that is in my server's
tnsnames.ora file. I can connect to the database using SQLNet and the same connection
parameters that I have set up in weblogic. My Oracle home directory is set to
the directory just above the client install. I am trying to configure Commerce
Server on a Sun SPARC system running Solaris 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to configure Portal to run off the network
Hi all,
I am trying to configure Oracle Portal 3.0.9.8.2 to run off the network. I have taken all of the recommended steps in terms of configuring hostname, using a static IP, running and checking the ssoodatan script, updating the hosts file, and configuring a loopback adapter, but can still not make it work. The Portal works and functions fine when connected to the network, but as soon as disconnected from the network Portal returns

Sometimes it will display the banner, but the Portlets and the Providers will instantly timeout. I have cranked up the timeout levels of JServ and the Providers but to no avail. I have put the recommended timeout, stall, requesttime, buffer, minStall, minTimeout in the zone.properties file, but no luck.
I have noticed within the jserv.log the error message below. The link that jumps out at me is UnknownHostException: www-proxy.us.oracle.com. I did have my proxy server set at one time, but I erased it from the global settings page, and I ran the procedure I found somewhere on this discussion board to make sure it was set back to null. When I run the diag.cmd program it shows my proxy server being empty. Where could this be picking this up from, I also have proxy servers turned off in my browsers. Any suggestions or help??

I'm trying to configure the survivability.tcl service but I can't seem to get it to work. I've followed the instructions on the CVP config/admin guide but no luck. Attached is the config from a 2811 I'm using on the LAB.
My setup:
ICM 8.5 server running Rogger, Logger, PG, CTIOS, HDS (x.x.x.82)
CVP 8.0 server running CVP call server, vxml server, media server (x.x.x.83)
UCM 8.6 call manager server (x.x.x.81)
2811 running (C2800NM-IPVOICEK9-M) 12.4(24)T5 (x.x.x.254)
4 FXO ports

I opened a TAC case and the engineer found it right away.
Symptom:
In a Cisco CVP solution installation it might be observed that the survivability tcl script takes 60 seconds to kick in on the gateway when the CVP server is down or unreachable.
Conditions:
When the CVP server is down or unreachable. So far seen in CVP versions 4.1 and 7.0.2.
Workaround:
comment out the following line in survivability.tcl:
# set fsm(any_state,ev_proceeding) "StopTimer same_state"
and load the new file and service on the gateway, after that you can set the following under the survivability service to desired time in seconds to control the time it takes to start the script.

Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Restore the iPhone.
