If it's showing the red disabled screen due to incorrect passcodes then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad via your computer's iTunes and restore/resync your content to it

i just replaced my mac pro with an iMac and i can't get it to work with my epson stylus 3800 printer? i have downloaded the 3800 software three times and the imac keeps telling me there is no software to run the printer? Any help here?

Trying to connect 2 mac mini's as a network, and sharing printers
Hello to all. Please help me as I'm a newbie on these Mac mini's. I am trying to create a network between the two mini's and I would like to share files between them and be able to print from the upstairs mini to the printers hooked up to the downstairs mini.
Mini 1 (downstairs) has 2 printers attached directly, a HP color laserjet and a Epson 800 Artisan
Mini 2 (upstairs)
Mini 1 and mini 2 are both connected via ethernet to the Netgear router.
Here is my problem:
on the mini 1, I can print and even access the mini 2 via sharing. I can screen share and view folders that is on the mini 2.
However, from the mini 2 computer, I cannot get the screen share and folder sharing from the mini 1 computer. I show that it is there, but when I try to connect, I get a message that states: CONNECTION FAILED The server may no exist or it is not operation at this time. Check the server name or ip address and your network connection and try again.
On the mini 2 I also cannot get anything to print. It doesn't even show that the printers that are supposedly shared at the other computer are present. I tried to add them, via default icon or even ip from the print and fax preferences, but I get error messages and cannot print.
ON THE mini 2: When I used the 'default printer' icon, both of my printers showed up using bonjour shared and I 'added' them. But when I tried to print, I got a message stating:
*Connecting to downstairs-mac-mini.local on port 631...*
*Unable to connect to printer; will retry in 30 seconds....*
I deleted both printers as bonjour shared and tried to make the printers an ip internet shared, and put in the ip address xxx.xxx.1.2 (mini 1 ip address) but I got a message saying that that ip address was being used. I changed the ip address to xxx.xxx.1.5 (mini 2 ip address) and it looked like it was going to print, but it automatically goes to pause. (doesn't matter which printer it is, I can't print from either. I never did get either of the printers to work on mini 2.
I have done the following: On the mini 1, the printers are marked shared. On both computers the shared folders are marked shared, along with screen sharing. I also added all files on both computers to be shared as to who can read only or read and write.
Also, I have also gone to the 'system' icon and on internet sharing, I have made both computers to be shared, with the appropriate check marks done on the list of services I want shared.
ON both the mini 1 and mini 2 I have set the network to XXXXX Home and it automatically configured and states that my ethernet is connected.
On the downstairs computer, I can see the 'shared computer, and am able to access the files.
BUT on the other computer upstairs, I do see the downstairs computer, but it fails in the connection.
I noticed that the ip address for each computers state the same number, except the last digit is different. xxx.xxx.1.2 for the downstairs mini and xxx.xxx.1.5 for the upstairs mini. The router number and dns server along with the subnet mask are the same numbers between both of the computers.
I am going to set the power settings NOT to sleep when idle so that might help when I am trying to view files on each mini's.
So right now I am stuck with how to make the upstairs mini to print on the downstairs printers, and how to see the downstairs mini on the upstairs mini display.

You have to upgrade to 10.6.8 to be able to download iTunes 10.7 or 11. The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion. -
I'm trying to get an overhead projector to identify my macbookpro. If I go to Prefs and select screens that dialogue box comes up on screen. So I know there's nothing wrong with the VGA cable. But when the screen box is collapsed nothing happens. My computer is not recognized by the projector. Can anyone help?
On a PC I used to hit "control F5. But I don't believe that works on a MacBook. Any suggestions?About the only thing you can try is using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion on your Mac over the top of the current install. that will reset all system files and should not touch your personal files or the apps you have installed.
Or iof you have a recent Time Machine backup use that to restore your Mac to that point in time. -
Trying to install a Lab-LC Card into an LC. Can't get it to work!
Can't get the settings to work and its driving me mad! I know its an old bit of kit, but I am working to a very tight budget and would be greatfull for any help you can offer.
Thanks for your responce but I'm working with the Lab-LC from way back from 1992! (Sorry I'm poor it's all I can afford.) I've got it working now I think! I was a bit of a muppet and was trying to test it with the Lab-NB test app. Hindsight is a wonderfull advantage, but not as much as the ability to read my documentation! Those 2 letters meant I didn't go to bed until 3:30am and only then with a greatly diminished folicle count!
Do you know what is the latest version of Ni-DAQ software will work with it. I'm using a steam powered Mac LC, OS 7.5.5, 36Mb RAM, 400MB HD and the Lab-LC board.

Itouch is connected but can't get email to work from Verizon account

I have a new I-touch which is connecting fine to my wireless and will recieve and send email from an alternate email server.
But I cannot get the settings correct for my verizon.net address to work on the I-touch. It confuses me as my email address is verizon.net, but my old settings on my pc are incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net. Should I be trying incoming.verizon.net, or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net.
I have my user name without the @verizon.net and I have checked the password many times.
I have the port setting at 587.
It is on password authentication.
Can anyone share with me which settings are working for them???

Go to Solution.I don't have a iTouch, but I do have an iPhone ... the answer to your question depends on what "experience" you have when you get your mail from Verizon. Are you using the Yahoo! portal experience perhaps?
If so, the iPhone has a Yahoo! account profile which appears to work. You use your full @verizon.net email address as the logon userid and your email password for Verizon.

Some of these settings are obviously personal preference, but there should be enough here for you to piece toogether what you need to get up and running. -

Would you like to download iTunes now?" when i download the app it just keeps telling me the same thing!Did you just download the installer or did you you actually install it? Are you starting from the application icon the in the Applications folder or from the dock? Have you checked there are not two version of iTunes on the computer?

No, you did what i suggested. If it asks for the password, then you are talking to the router. That is a good sign. Some folks dont get that far. What is happening now, is the security in the router is not accepting what you are inputting from the pad, or there is some setting in the router blocking your access.
With all the time you have spent on this, and re reading the previous posts, it sounds like you have done everything that i can think of.
Maybe the trip to costco is the answer, and if so, sorry i wasted your time.
Are you comfortable enough with your router to open its contro
Panel up and look at the settings? If so, take a peek. Some routers are set to only allow new devices that are identifed by mac adress. Others, in the securit section, may have a block turned on. But if either of those were the case, you would know, because you would have set it up that way.
If you are an experimenter, try turning off the wifi security entirely, and see if you can join the net work. If you can, then you will have confirmed that the isue js tied directly to theway the router and pad were trying to negotiate the security.
If you can join if it is open, then reset to the lowest type of security you can, get it owrking, then keep moving up until you find the block point.
Glad it is a holiday weekend, so maybe you have the time to **** with it. -
