Trying to connect a Bluetooth wireless PS3 controller to Macbook Pro

Hello,  I've got a Macbook Pro  2.2 GHz Core i7 with 4 G Ram.  Running OS 10.7.5.  I would like to use a 3rd party PS3 controller with my Macbook.  I have a Datel Turbofire 2 wireless.  I've read about pairing wireless controllers with Macbooks, but my problem is that my macbook doesn't seem to detect the PS3 controller at all.  I don't get a pairing request and when I look for bluetooth devices, my computer does not see any.  Any suggestions?

I've been trying for the last half hour to pair a PS3 Sixaxis controller (cechzc1u) to my iMac, without much luck, it shows up in my bluetooth menu bar and says connected; but it does not show up in my bluetooth system preferences.
I'm curious if this requires the DualShock3 (cechzc2u) to work instead; i haven't had any luck with answers on the rest of the interweb.
any ideas?

Make sure you set the speakers as discoverable, which usually involves holding down a button for a few seconds. Go to System Preferences / Bluetooth and you should be able to add it.

  • Use PS3 controller on Macbook Pro?

    Hey,
I saw that there are some smart guys out there who have found a way to sue a PS3 controller with the Mac for gaming. I was wondering whether anyone has any experience with this setup?
How is the gaming experience? Does this work fluently and is it recognized by every game even when using bootcamp?
    Thanks!

First of all it wont work trough Blutooth, it only works wired.
under macos no theres nothing yet, but it really works well under windows 32 bit. I think there are a 64 bit version that works well too. But for playing games under windows the best it's a xbox controller beacuse it work very nice out of the box and there's no need of any patches or sniky methode.

  • Trying to connect a LOGITECH WIRELESS BOOMBOX to a macbook

hey guys - i'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to fix this.  i recently bought a logitech WIRELESS boombox and cannot connect it to either my macbook (running 10.5.8).  my mac recognizes the boombox but when i try to connect it i'm prompted to enter a passkey.  obviously there is no way for me to enter the passkey into the speaker so it doesn't connect. i've been able to get this to sync very easily with both my husband and i's droid phones and his MBP so i'm kinda bummed.
i'm wondering if this is something i can fix or if i'm just not able to use this speaker with my macbook.

  • Trying to connect to a PC printer from my MacBook Pro

I have a HP PSC 1350 All-in-One printer connected to a Windows computer. I am trying to print to that printer. I have attempted to install multiple drivers, and still nothing. When I try adding the printer, I go to the Windows setting, it shows the printer, but when I try adding the driver it does nothing. Then when I try to make as a "General PostScript Printer," it just pauses the print. Can anyone tell me what to do? PLEASE!?!

Typically there are a couple of ways.
    1. What you did followed by emptying the trash, and
    2. Use the uninstaller that may have been bundled in the package.
If available, you should run the uninstaller provided by the application.

  • MacBook Pro 1,1. OS X 10.6.8 Trying to connect an Edirol FA-101 via FireWire, Macbook not recognizing device.

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect an Edirol FA-101 to my MacBook Pro. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Other fireWire devices and drives work on the port, but the Edirol is not showing up in Audio MIDI setup or anywhere. I've tried both DC power and Bus power on the Edirol. Did the SMC reset, flashed the PRAM. Reset Permissions in safe mode. Still nothing. The lights on the device show that it is on and connected, but in system profiler I get "Warning: Unable to list firewire devices."
    Any ideas?

Hate to say it, but it sounds like the device has gone kaputt.

  • Trouble setting up wireless printing between my Macbook Pro w. Mountain Lion 10.8.1 and my HP C4780 Printer

    Hi all,
I'm having a frustrating problem trying to set up the wireless printing between my Macbook Pro 13" to my HP C4780 printer. I had no problem installing and configuring this before on my previous computer, a Macbook. However, when I got my new computer (the Macbook Pro), my wireless network wont show up when I try and install the wireless capability during the printer setup. I had to buy a new router and set up a new network around the time I got my new computer, so I wonder if this has something to do with it. My wireless network is a WPA/WPA2 personal, but so was my old wireless network with the old router and I didn't have a problem installing the wireless. I thought I might not have had the most up-to-date driver for the printer software, but I do. So, i'm stuck! Any thoughts??

Go here and download all the manuals and read them on how to set up your printer.

Then use multipel 99 picture slideshows.
You can have up to 8 or 9 slideshows per menu.  If you add a sub menu reduce that by 1 and add 8 more to the sub menu.  The top menu can have links to up to 8 or so submenus (depends on the theme) and each submenu can have up to 8 or so slideshows.
However, converting a very large slideshow to a QT movie as Terence suggested does not envoke the 99 slide limit in iDVD.  It just becomes a single video/movie file.  So you should not have a problem with exporting at the large size, 720 x 540,
and dragging the resulting file into the iDVD menu being sure to avoid any drop zones.

  • I want to connect my ps3 to my macbook pro wirelessly.

I want to connect my ps3 to my macbook pro wirelessly, my macbook pro is connected to the internet via ethernet.

OS X offers a feature known as Internet Sharing. With this feature enabled, the Mac Pro would perform as a "software" router. If the Mac Pro has built-in wireless (AirPort), you could then use this feature to share the Mac Pro's wired Internet connection via AirPort to the PS3.

  • My laptop continually tries to connect to HP3050 wireless even if I am not near the printer.

HP3050 wireless printer Samsung Laptop with Win 7 SP1
My laptop every minute or two runs a program in the background. I see an egg next to the mouse pointer. I used Process Explorer to establish that it is trying to connect to HP3050 wirelessly. This happens even if I am nowhere near the printer. It is very annoying and uses up computer resources. I have removed the printer for now and the problem is cured. How can I fix this and use the printer again?

    Topgunb,
Try re-installing the latest version of the full feature software located here:

my iphone 5 is not finding any bluetooth divises. trying to connect to bluetooth hands free but its not searching the divice. what do i do to connect bluetooth headset.

have you tried toggling bluetooth off/on again? if so, try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If you still can't detect or pair with any compatible bluetooth device you should offer the device for service.
If you're not able to restore the device, this one might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using his article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
    Good luck

i have tried to connect my c310 wireless although i have connected with usb.  help!
Printer does not recognize the network name.  I have  run the setup many times with no success.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am trying to add a wireless printer to my MacBook Pro.  It was working properly until we had to get a new modem.  I have gone through the steps with the printer customer service rep, and it was working properly for one day.  When I booted up the next morning, the printer was no longer "connected".  It will work if I have the printer and computer connected, but I much prefer the wireless capability.  Suggestions? The printer is a Brother MFC7860DW.  The other laptop in the house (Dell) can print wirelessly so I don't think it's an issue with the modem or the printer.
