Trying to connect a WRT610N and a wrt54gs2
I have a wrt610n and a wrt54gs2 w/speedboost and for the life of me i cannot figure out how to make these two routers operate on the same network...im am trying to have the 54gs2 act as a signal booster but they will not communicate wirelessly. 1st off is it possible and if so can you help?
A Linksys WRT wireless router won't connect wireless to other wireless access points. A WRT won't operate as wireless bridge or wireless repeater.
Check if you can install 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt or tomato on your router. 3rd party firmware usually adds bridging and repeating capabilities. However, please note that a bad flash with 3rd party firmware may brick your router and it's not covered by warranty.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

There is a possibility that the stick requires more power than the MBP delivers. Try it on a powered hub.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

Just to confirm you have a macbook air right? If so and it is mid 2011 or later running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or newer you can mirror it. If home sharing is on and ATV and MBA are on same id and network you should get the airplay icon near the clock on the mac and that should mirror your screen.
If you have an older mac or pc a third party app called airparrot can do it for you.

After updating my ipad to ios7 it is on recovery mode. Then I tried to reboot it and it shows an image to connect to iTunes. I tried to connect to iTunes and restore it but it says ipad could not be restored and an error occurred. What can I do now???

I set up sharing on hte imac, file sharing and dvd/cd sharing. from the mbpro i simply went to finder>go>connect to server. I entered the name as on my imac (xxx.local) and immediately connected. This was a massive help to me as I had some software (aperture, office for mac) that were on drive and the new mbpro doesn't have a disk drive. through sharing I could access the disc drive remotely via my mbpro and load the software that way. worked beautifully on my wifi (which is apple airport extreme).

I was trying to connect my ipad and iphone using icloud. After signing in on both devices I clicked merge. I went to check my calendar and all my events were gone. Is there any way I can get my events back?
Check to see if they are on your calendar on icloud.com. If they aren't, all you can do is try to restore to your last backup, although it isn't clear that calendar events are included in the iCloud backup.

After downloading InCopy I click on the downloaded file to install, but the process stops when trying to connect with server and doesn't carry on. Can you please help?

I already stated the problem above, but I am able to download the file. Yet, when I try to begin the setup it says "trying to connect to server" and does not do anything else. I need help to finish the set-up!

It's possible that you've tried the password too many times and you're locked out.
Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
I tried to connect to iTunes and only get a plug logo on iPad
Ok, I got an iPad--my dad got it in a random drawing at work, but he gave it to me to "play"" with.
Now, the problem is:
1. The first day, I connected it to the wi-fi network in my home.
2. It connected properly. I was able to use the iPad to access the internet, play games, etc.
3. I thought at first that the round button below/above the screen was 'off' button, but then I learned it was just 'sleep' mode. Even though sleep mode takes less power, I didn't want to take a chance on draining the battery.
4. So, I turned it off completely, but when I turned it on, I got a picture of a plug and a CD, and I couldn't get the home screen or internet.
5. So I connected it to my laptop, hoping to re-connect the ipad to the network.
6. I got a message on my LAPTOP saying that iPad couldn't connect to iTunes, make sure the network is on and connected.
Now I can't do anything. The iPad won't connect.
FYI: I have Windows Vista, a wi-fi with a router. I don't know which iPad it is. It just has 'iPad' on the box so I'm assuming it's not iPad 2.My ipad is listed on the sidebar but there is no name [I don't think i named it, or knew i was able to].
I uninstalled my original iTunes and reinstalled it. Then I shut my ipad down, and tried again. Miracle! My ipad home page came up. Then, idiot that I am [ I accidentally shut it off again, (pressing the shut down button, thinking it was the volume button] and it wouldn't reconnect! I get a box that says that my connection has timed out, and to make sure I'm connected to the net. Which I am. I disconnected and reconnected. No luck. Tried reinstalling itunes one more time. No luck. I think I tried a couple or restart/restore tips for the ipad. Either didn't work, or I did it wrong.

This is driving me bonkers! I should've put a piece of tape over the shut off button.

Trying to connect a MacBook and a Windows Laptop through WRT54G - no success
I have a MacBook and a Windows XP Laptop and try to connect both through the WRT54G Wireless router which is connected to my DSL modem. The router serves as DHCP and allows 5 connections, using WPA as security.
I can be online with my Windows Laptop no problem, but when I try to connect with the MacBook it connects for a few minutes and then both get kicked off. The Laptop continues to show that it is connected to the wireless network, but I can't go to the internet anymore. The WLAN LED on the router stops being lit. Only way for reconnection is restarting the Router (unplug/replug).
When I go online with the MacBook ONLY through wireless or by cable to the router it gets connected, but stays online for 1-2 minutes only as well, then drops off.
The only way now for the MacBook to stay permanently online is to wire it to the DSL modem, but then I can not get online with the Windows Laptop.
I have browsed a number of online forums and tried the tips (different channel, I switched from WEP to WPA etc) but nothing has helped so far.

thanks, MichaelI resolved the problem !!! Apparently the MAC's had some software/firmware updates that needed to be installed. I installed the updates and am able to go on the internet wireless along with the PC's. I have not lost any connection since I downloaded and installed the updates. These updates included Airport Extreme 2007's which I think may have been the problem.
