Trying to connect LG Muziq to MacBook

I have recently switched over to the world of Mac, after having been away from all things Apple for the past decade. I always liked Apple products, but I valued compatibility over quality when I went off to college back in the 90's.
So I have a new MacBook, and I was trying to connect my LG Muziq via USB cable. The MacBook did not recognize it, which wasn't too remarkable. The phone came with a driver CD, but since the MacBook is so advanced, I figured it wouldn't need it (didn't need the HP driver to use my printer!)
So I pulled out the box for the LG Muziq, and retrieved the CD. The first problem, is that the CD is a small disc. It works fine with "tray" style CD ROM drives, but I was skeptical to just insert the little disc into the CD ROM port.
*First question: Can I insert odd-sized discs into the CD ROM drive?*
So I went to the web, and found the driver software on Sprint's website. Here they asked if this was to be run on a MS Windows 2000, XP or Vista. Hmmm....
*Second question: If the software is only meant to be run on MS operating systems, am I SOL? Should I choose Vista, and hope for the best, or is this futile?*
My phone is a camera, and I'm trying to pull the pics off of it to use on my MacBook. Is there another way? The phone is Bluetooth enabled, and so is my MacBook.
*Third question: Can I link up my MacBook with my LG Muziq via Bluetooth?*
Thanks for looking, and I hope someone can help!
Jerrell

So we're left with this question...
"Second question: If the software is only meant to be run on MS operating systems, am I SOL? Should I choose Vista, and hope for the best, or is this futile?"
I assume I'm SOL, unless someone knows something I don't?

    Hi,
I purchased Huawei Dongle and trying to connect with my new MacBook Pro (OS- Mountain Lion) USB port 3.0 but unfortunately it does not support.
When I plugged in my macbook the power is flowing in dongle due green light blinking twice in every 3 sec but no connection found or diver shown.
Please let me know how I have to use it. I got some suggestion for USB hub 2.0 but It does not make any sense and driver installation.
So please suggest proper direction to use it and provide link to install any driver.
    Thanks
    Tauheed Ahmad

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and  3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.
    Thanks

  • HT1941 trying to connect time  apsule to macbook air with the ethernet cable in the WAN port the airport utility doesn't detect it

trying to connect time  capsule to macbook air with the ethernet cable in the WAN port but the airport utility doesn't detect it but when i put it in the LAN one it does but it doesn't let me configure
    any ideas?

Isn't it fun trying to do things without an ethernet cable direct to the computer.. Apple sell a usb to ethernet adapter cable fairly cheap.. makes life a lot easier having something to do hard connections.. or as hard as usb can manage.
Since you have to access the TC by wireless .. press and hold the reset button on the TC for about 10sec until front led flashes rapidly.. don't worry about the ethernet cable.. leave it disconnected.
Now click on the airport symbol and join another network. The TC should revert to its home name.. which will be a combo of Time Capsule and its MAC address. There is no wireless security and you can do the setup.

  • Trying to connect HP1020 to new MacBook air

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect my HP Laserjet 1020 to my new MacBook Air. I have a cable so it's not wireless. It's an excellent printer, has served me for years and I really don't have the money to buy a new one. Is there any way I can use the printer on my new computer? The HP website say that don't have a driver for Mac. Can anyone help? I'd very much appreciate it!
    Many thanks.

  • Trying to connect my g5 to macbook pro with firewire?

Can I connect my g5 to my macbook pro?

If your G5 (whatever) has firewire then yes you can.

  • Trying to connect iMac to new Macbook Pro

    Hi,
I just got a new MBP and am trying to network it with my intel iMac (late 2007). I can only connect as a guest. I try to connect as an administrator and am asked for a password. I enter my password and it says it is not correct. I have only assigned one password on my mac and assumed it would be the same one for the network, apparantly not. I am not sure what to do. I have enabled home sharing in itunes and that works. I tried using the generic password for the netgear router but that is not it either. Any thoughts?

Screen sharing setup in 10.5, 10.6 are described by the links by operating system.  10.7 is fairly similar to 10.6.
And if both Macs have Firewire, you can setup a Firewire over IP network for fast communication between machines.  Note if you have two different Firewire ports a 6 pin to 9 pin Firewire cable does exist.  There are no Firewire to USB cables.

I am trying to connect my newly purchased MacBook Air to my existing wireless printer, a Canon MP560.  When I go to printer preferences and try to "add" a printer I'm not allowed to type anything at all in that window.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks!

Does the printer appear in the window so you can select it?

  • Help Connect my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro to my new YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 SE 27" LED 2560X1440 WQHD DVI-D Dual Computer Monitor

    Hi,
I am trying to connect my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro to my new YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 SE 27" LED 2560X1440 WQHD DVI-D Dual Computer Monitor.  I am not having a lot of luck.
    My machine:
    OS: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Processor:  2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I am trying to connect it using the:
Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
    DVD-D HDMI cable
YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 SE 27" LED 2560X1440 WQHD DVI-D Dual
    (http://www.ebay.com/itm/150788045871?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m149 7.l2649#ht_16597wt_877)
    Here is what is happening.
    1. I connect the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter + HDMI Cable to Monitor
    2. Main monitor powers up like it is trying to display
    3. Laptop Monitor displays second part of desktop
    4. I can never get the Yamakasi to display a picture
Here is what I have tried:
    1. Different HDMI-D cables
    2. ATLONA AT-DP400 Dual Link DVI to Mini Display Port Converter
    3. Zapping the P-Ram
    4. Powering monitor with laptop closed
    5. Forcing the system to see the second monitor
    The nearest I can figure:
    - The laptop does see the catsleap (it displays resolutions I can set it to)
I am completely stumped, I was hoping someone could advise me.
    Thanks,
    Don

    Hey Kytarx,
I found the winning combination this weekend.
    I tried:
    - Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
    - ATLONA AT-DP400 Dual Link DVI to Mini Display Port Converter
    - Monoprice Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt® to HDMI®, DVI & DisplayPort Adapter
    My experience:
    - Altona didn't work at all, and their support claimed it would not.
    - Monoprice didn't work to Dual DVI, it did work to HDMI (great price I wish it did)
    - Apple Mini Displayport adapter did work, but would only work with certain USB + Display port combos.
The thing that was tripping me up was that two of the Dual DVI-D cords were bad.  Once I found the working cord, it was easier to find the working adapter.  The experience I did find to be a frustrating / expensive one. However, the Monitor itself is beautiful.
    Hopefully this helps someone else..
    Don

  • Connecting my Late 2009 Macbook to a Samsung Series 5 TV

So I'm trying to connect my Late 2009 Macbook upto my Series 5 Samsung TV and I've stumbled across a bit (a lot!) of difficulty.
I have the picture coming through perfectly on my MiniDisplayport to HDMI connection but I can't for the life of me work out how to get the sound through as well. I have literally every cable at my disposal at the minute, RCA to audio, optical with a TOSlink connector and a standard 3.5mm audio cable. I assumed the optical to TOSlink connector would be my best option but no such look, I've tried every combination I can think of. Whenever I connect the TOSlink connector in, the sound icon greys out immediately and my TV doesn't appear in the Output list.
I'm really hoping somebody would be able to help me out, I'm fast running out of options, something I thought might be a good idea is quickly turning into a bit of a pain...

The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
Check your TV manual though to see if it might have audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate audio input plugs on your TV.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

  • Connecting Canon MG5350 to MacBook with WLAN

    Hello!
I just bought a Canon MG5350 and I tried to connect it with my MacBook which runs in iOS 10.6.8, using the wireless network. During the last step of the instalation, I am getting the message: no printer is dectetable. I checked the WLAN settings on both the printer and the Mac and they share the same Gateway and Subnet Mask. On top of that the printer is perfectly dectable from the System Preferences Menu (Print&Fax). I cannot understand what I am doing wrong.
    Any suggestions?
I am really thankful in advance!
PS: I will buy a USB cable tomorrow (I just realized that I have no USB cables at home anymore) and try to connect it like that. It is a pity though not to use the wireless connection.

You need to get a 9-pin to 4-pin FireWire cable.

I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro to my TV with a mini display port to HDMI converter. Its not working. Any suggestions?

Depends on your model TV.   Read your TV user manual.  The newer models have "how to hookup" instructions for computer & games.
You can also do a forum search as well as a Google search.

im not sure what to do next - can anyone help?
    im running OSX 10.7.4

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
