Trying to connect my 13" macbook to HD Cinema model 1082

can someone help me connect my HD monitor with my 13"macbook?

The FireWire cable is not needed (unless you want to use the display's FireWire ports) so just leave it unplugged.
Is there an Arrangement tab in Displays system preference?  If not, leave the display connected, shutdown (not just sleep) the  omputer then restart.  If that doesn't help, try a PRAM reset:

If no luck, try a SMC redet:

I have a HP wireless printer, and im trying to connected to my macbook pro. But will not connect..

Isaaura - what printer model do you use?
While opening Safari click the Bookmarks icon and select Bonjour.. can you see the printer listed there?
(If Bonjour is not listed click Safari > Preferences > Bookmarks and check Bonjour within the Collections section)
Can you access the printer by typing its IP from Safari?
If the printer not available only thoguh Bonjour but an be reached by its IP, what router brand and model are you using?
Templeton Peck - correct me if I'm wrong, the different OS X forums have a dedicated forum for printing and scanning.. as Apple no longer produce printers about the last 2 decades I would assume those forums meant to deal with other manufactures over OS X..

  • IPhone 4s keeps trying to connect to a Macbook Hotspot but no internet

    Hello,
I've setup a hotspot on my macbook (OS X10.5.8 leopard) and created a WEP 128 bit password. I found the network on my iphone 4s, selected the network, entered the password.
The iphone4s keeps trying to connect to the network (the moving circle that means something is loading) keeps appearing beside the network's name without turning into a tick when the nwtwork is selected. this happens although sometimes the wifi bars appear at the top of the iphone screen.
When i got a website on safari, i get "can't open the page because you're not connected to the internet"
Anyone knows what is the solution?
    Thanks

I figured it out. Thanks for taking the time to read. Incidentally, if this happens to you: Go to your PODCASTS. find the annoying podcast that is causing the issue. Delete that bad boy.

  • Trying to connect my 2008 Macbook Pro to a DVI cable

Ok I am kind of struggling here. I bought an external Sansung monitor which has the blue cable in the first picture and I want to find an adapter to get this connected to one of the inputs on the macbook pro in the second picure. Thoughts?

The cable you've pictured isn't DVI, it's VGA. You need a mini-Displayport-to-VGA adapter to connect to it. The mini-Displayport is the fourth one from the left in your lower picture, just to the left of the USB ports.

  • "INVALID PASSWORD" trying to connect with a MacBook...help!

I've got a WRH54G wireless router...has one pc connected via ethernet and two Dell PC's connected wireless...all are working fine. I've got a new Apple MacBook, and I am not able to connect to my wireless network with security enabled. MacBook does connect via ethernet. MacBook does connect to my neighbors unsecured network. MacBook does connect to network at the local Whataburger restaurant. MacBook does recognize my network if I broadcast the SSID. When I try to join, I enter the network name, then select security (WPA Personal), then enter password, then click on JOIN. I then receive a INVALID PASSWORD message. Not sure if it matters but my password is like this Xxxxxxxx9( with X = letters. Does anyone know the trick to making the MacBook work with my security enabled Linksys network? Thanks for your help.

Here is what I ended up doing....all computers were talking as of last night: 1-Obtained the mac address for all 3 wireless computers. 2-Accessed the router, then went to the wireless tab>wireless mac filter. 3-Enabled mac address filtering, then entered the mac addresses of the three computers. 4-Selected the option to only allow these mac addresses to access the router. 5-Turn off the wireless security. 6-change the wireless security setting on each computer to none. Even with broadcast ssid disabled, all were able to detect and connect to the router. As I think I understand it....to access my router, you'd have to know the hidden (ssid broadcast disabled) network name, but since I am allowing access only to the mac addresses listed, you can't access my network....so this should be pretty secure. I'm a network novice, so if I'm wrong, please correct me (nicely).

  • Trying to connect a Macbook Pro with a G4 circa 2000

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect my new Macbook Pro to my older G4 via an ethernet cable.
I've turned ON file sharing in the network pref's on both machines.
Have them attached directly to each other via an ethernet cable. I start up the Macbook Pro and then turn on the G4 but it doesn't show up as an option.
When I click on the ethernet option in the network pref's it states that I'm not connected.
I'm wondering if I should plug the ethernet cable from both the Macbook and G4 into my wireless router?
The G4 isn't set up for a wireless connection so something tells me this won't work unless the hard wire from both simply serves as a pass through.
    Anyone have any ideas?

according to the op, he's doing a G4 tower <---> Macbook pro.
FTA: +Products that require a crossover cable if connecting to another product from this list...+
a MBP isn't on the list that title heads up, so only a std ethernet is needed.
I did this with a PM G3 <---> 15" PB one time. The crossover cable didn't work. The std cable did.

  • Can't connect my 2009 macbook pro to new 2011 LG TV

I just got a new LG LED LCD TV and I'm trying to connect my 2009 macbook pro to it. I bought a Belkin Mini Display Port to HDMI Adapter at the Apple Store. I also bought the Apple HDMI to HDMI 1.8m cable to connect the computer to the TV. I set up the video fine by using System Preferences-Display. Unfortunately, the sound does not work though. I bought a Dynex stereo mini to RCA "Y" cable to connect my computer's head phone jack to the Audio In RGB/DVI port on my TV. The problem is that I can only get sound to work when I set the input on my TV to AV1. I can only get the video to work when I have the input set to HDMI/DVI. I need to be able to get them to work simultaneously. Can anyone offer me some advice?

Unfortunately, you won't find your TV audio in the System Pref > Sound section. Macbook pro's, before 2010, don't have the ability to send and audio signal through the mini display port. They can only send video. Apple added the new hardware for audio in the 2010 models. You have to use a seperate audio cable from your MBP earphone jack and plug it into your TV. This can be a problem sometimes too. Depending on your TV. I ran an HDMI cable to my TV and I plug my MBP earphone jack into my portable Bose player. That works pretty good.
I think you need to go into System Preferences>Sound, and make sure the output is through the Headphone Port.

  • No audio when connecting 2009 White Macbook to Sony Bravia TV

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect my 2009 Macbook to my Sony Bravia TV but having problems with the audio.
I'm using a Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter to connect the Macbook with a VGA cable connected to the back of the TV in the PC location.
I'm trying to connect the audio from the Macbook to the TV using a two male 3.5 mm audio cable from the Mac's headphone jack to the audio port behind the TV under the VGA port.
But no sound is coming from the TV. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

OK, I feel a little foolish. I had to rerun AutoProgram to let it rescan the channels. I had tried that but gave up too soon. When it hadn't found any channels at all when it was about 60% done, I assumed it wouldn't find any. I finally had the patience to let it run and it found the channels.
Does anyone have a QAM channel lineup map for the Boston area?

  • Wifi connecting speakers for macbook pro

I am so confused.  I have fios WiFi and need to connect a speaker to my MacBook Pro.  Some suggestions please.

    Hi Mary,
Can you tell us what brand/model of speakers you are trying to connect to your MacBook Pro?

Depends on your model TV.   Read your TV user manual.  The newer models have "how to hookup" instructions for computer & games.
You can also do a forum search as well as a Google search.

im not sure what to do next - can anyone help?
    im running OSX 10.7.4

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Dave I'm glad to say that it works perfectly but I'm embarrassed to say that my 12 year old nephew hooked it up in about 10 minutes.
If you have the Kanex Mini DisplayPort cable it will work, what confused me was changing the display settings in System Preferences,
and dragging the mac screen from the mac onto the tv. Sorry I cant be more helpful but you have the right cable now you need a 12 year old nephew.
    Good luck Derek
