    Contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click ‘More Produces & Services’. In the next page select ‘Apple ID’, and then 'Other Apple ID Topics’, then ‘The topic is not listed’.  Tell the person who answers it is an issue related to your Apple ID and you shouldn't be charged for the call.

  • Connection to the imap server failed on WiFi

    Hi -
    Has anyone encountered this problem? All of a sudden, I am getting the following error message on my iPhone when I try to check my email (and am connected to my WiFi network): "Connection to the imap server failed." If I turn off WiFi, the connection works fine (using 3G). All settings are correct, and this has worked fine for almost a year before the problem started.
    Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
    Rob

    If you truly tried everything there is no hope of ever making it work. But perhaps you missed something, so here are a few things (and if you've tried them...)
    Reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears
    Go to Settings/Mail,contacts,calendars, tap on a mail account. Make sure there's an entry for SMTP or Outgoing mail server (You may need to tap on Account to see the entry)
    Tap on SMTP and make sure you have entered your email name and password (even if it says "optional")
    If there's more than one server listed make sure the appropriate one for that account is the primary
    If all of the above is correct delete the account, reboot the phone, and add the account back

    Highlight it in Mail > Preferences > Account and click on the "-" tab at the bottom of the list panel.

  • Trying to log into the SMTP account failed.

    I am traveling with my new MacBook Pro, and when trying to send email, I get the following message:
    "Trying to log into this SMTP account failed. Please make sure the username and password are correct."
    I have four accounts, and it happens to all four accounts including my .mac account. Receiving email on these accounts through Mail is no problem. There is only a problem with sending it. These accounts work from work and at home and other places, wireless or otherwise. They only do not work from hotels. Very strange. Any ideas?

    Hello Steve
    The simple and quick fix is right-clicking on that little Safe icon in the system tray (near the system clock) and choose Stop Backup/Synchronization. Do you see that icon?
    Turn it on and off as needed. Did this work for you?

  • Mail doesn't save password for iCloud IMAP account (works fine with other email providers)

    Mavericks Mail doesn't save the password for my iCloud IMAP account no matter how many times I enter it into Preferences or enter it when prompted.  Doesn't seem to be saving in Keychain or wherever it should be saved.  Passwords for all other email providers that I use are saved.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?  Thanks!!!!!

    greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Try the following.
    Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (This removes your data from your device, but not from your account, it will be added back later).
    Restart the device.
    Sign in again (Settings > iCloud, don't use the 'Create New Apple ID' button).

  • Cannot connect to iCloud imap

    The last week connecting to iCloud has been hit or miss. I use my computer everyday and find it frustrating when I get the message "could not connect to could map This is after downloading the new updates

    Ok, so I'm guessing this was a two part screw up in the upgrade.
    Part 1 was that the upgrade corrupted the network settings, which resulted in a lack of connectivity when it rebooted into Yosemite.
    Part 2 seems to have be that if you don't set up iCloud on setup (which I couldn't since I had no network on reboot) it leads to a corruption of the iCloud pref, /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences/MobileMeAccounts.plist, which if I delete and restart brings back functionality in iCloud, iTunes, App Store and oddly Mail.
    I then had to do this twice since the first time I tried turning on my Bonjour account in Adium it screwed the whole thing up again. What the connection is between Adium and mobileme prefs are I couldn't tell you, but I'll leave it off for a bit and see where that gets me.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • "can't sign in at this time", "connection error" error messages while trying to connect to iCloud in Mac

    I have been having problems signing in to iCloud in my macbook recently. I can't use iMessage as well. Not sure what the problem really is.
    When I sign in the iCloud using my macbook I receive this error message. The password is correct but not sure what the problem really is.
    When I go on the web using safari and try to sign in to icloud.com, I receive this error message:
    Again, the password is correct for my icloud and I can sign in to icloud using my iPhone. My iMessage in my Macbook is also not working. It used to work just fine. Please help.

    You may find you can get the sign in to work through Safari if you clear Safari's cache and try again.
    So far as being unable to sign in at system preferences, you might try the following, missing out the steps that aren't applicable.
    1. Sign out of your account
    (If you are unable to do this because System Preferences has frozen, Force Quit System Preferences and try again)
    2. When prompted, opt to delete, contacts, calendars etc from your Mac.
    (You are only deleting this data from your Mac, not from iCloud, the data will be reinstated when you log back in. If you need to check that the data is in iCloud before deleting it go to iCloud.com and check each section for data)
    3. Having logged out, check that the iCloud accounts along with their data have disappeared from the Mail, Address Book and iCal Applications.
    (If necessary, delete the iCloud accounts from each of these application separately from each Applications Preferences)
    4. At this point it may be worth trying to log into iCloud from the System Preferences iCloud settings again, if this works, all well and good, if it doesn't continue to step 5.
    5. Open your User Library folder in the Finder. (When in the Finder, go to the Go menu, hold down the option key (alt) and choose Library when it appears in the Go menu)
    6. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iCloud and drag the iCloud folder to your desktop. (This action only copies the folder and will provide you with a back up)
    7. Select the iCloud folder again in Library > Application Support and drag it to the trash, enter your administrators password when prompted.
    8. Restart your computer.
    9. You should now be able to enter your ID and Password in system Preferences > iCloud and log into your account. Check the services you wish to use and once you are satisfied it's working as it should, trash the iCloud folder you copied to your desktop earlier.

  • Classnotfound when POP3s account connected to before IMAPs account

    I have implemented the DummySSLSocketFactory stuff for handling unsinged certs on POP3s ser vers and it works fine, However is I connect to one of these servers before connecting to an IMAPs server I get the following error:

         ... 20 moreIf the I reverse it, connect to IMAPs first and then to POP3s it works fine. I assume that this has to do with this code:
         // the line below is for java 1.5
         java.security.Security.setProperty("ssl.SocketFactory.provider","com.cc.util.controller.email.DummySSLSocketFactory");
         // these are for java 1.4
        props.setProperty("mail.pop3s.socketFactory.class","com.cc.util.controller.email.DummySSLSocketFactory");
        props.setProperty("mail.pop3s.socketFactory.fallback", "false");which I do before connecting to the POP3s service. In this case the connection being made to POP3s comes from a different thread than the connection to the IMAPs. Everything is in a single jar and this is an applet. I'm confused as to why it can't find the class after it has already found it. I mean at the root the threads should all have the same class loader shouldn't they?

    If I remove the socket factory code everything works but then I can't to a server with a self signed certificate. So I tried this for imaps:
    // the line below is for java 1.5
    java.security.Security.setProperty("ssl.SocketFactory.provider","javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory");
    // these are for java 1.4
       props.setProperty("mail.imaps.socketFactory.class","javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory");
       props.setProperty("mail.imaps.socketFactory.fallback", "false");but that gives me this error:
    javax.mail.MessagingException: java.lang.InstantiationException;
      nested exception is:
