I have tried all the solutions apple has offered online. I will not reset my phone to factory settings unless it is a last resort. What is Apple doing to fix this? It goes on syncing forever, without actually doing anything. I have tried everything, wiped the phone numerous times, deleted all files from the laptop but still no resolution. As a result, the phone does not really synchronise.
This started somewhere in May 2011 when I upgraded what proved to be a problematic s/w version and the phone has not recovered since.
Now I cannot update the iPhone s/w any longer.
Any clue?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

That is because that Firefox 3.6.x version has been released later than the Firefox 4 version.
If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

Running 3.6.13 on MAC OS 10.6.7. Firefox wants to install updates but updater never connects. It's in eternal "connecting to server" mode. Now I get a message that says I don't have permission to make updates on this computer, I'm the only user. Ideas?

Trying to update Iphone 3 using my Macbook, but I have never connected this phone to the computer before

I have an Iphone 3, I never connected it to my Macbook or ITunes on the Macbook before. Will I lose all of my info on the phone? It asks me to restore/welcome to using new Iphone. I'm assuming I will lose all of my info.

Hello jwmoss, If there is an issue with update or permissions the better and easiest way is to download and install firefox:
1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
2. '''''Trash''''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

My iphone 4 says connect to itunes when it is plugged into the wall but is black and doesnt turn on once I unplug it and the computer and itunes doesnt recognise it. I have tried it with serveral chords and computers. The software on it was never updated.

It was my old work phone and when the company went broke we were all allowed to keep our phones. The service was shut off so i just used it as a personal organiser and used the internet through wifi. I had never updated the software for it because i didnt have a computer to sync it too to do the itunes updates. Is that possibly the problem? how do i make it work again?

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

I have been without mu IPhone 4 since yesterday now as I tried to do the IOS6 update and since then it has messed up my phone and I am unable to access any of it's functions as it is locked on the update screen.
My phone was bought through Vodfone and have been on their network ever since, never had any problems like this.

Try a Hard Reset.....

Since updating to iOS 6 on my ipad i am unable to connect to the internet, itunes or the app store. I have tried many suggestions about changing the dat, logging in/out of itunes etc but nothing has worked! Please help :)

Since updating my ipad to iOS 6 a few days ago i can't seem to get onto the internet, the app store or itunes, nor can i update to iOS7!! I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). Some things to try first:

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

You can try a soft-reset of pressing and holding both the home and sleep buttons for 10 to 15 seconds so that it reboots, but you are likely to get the same screen. If it does then it will need to be connected to a computer's iTunes so that it can be reset back to factory defaults - do you have a friend with a computer with iTunes installed on it, or is there an Apple store nearby that you could try going to (if there is then preferably make a Genius Bar appointment at it, or don't go at a busy time) ?
Has she been backing up to the cloud ? If she has then she should be able to restore to that. If not then what she can redownload for free from the stores will show in the Purchased tabs in the store apps.
