Trying to convert a TIFF file channels into layers, or convert into JPEG.

Hello, I am using an artwork with several different channels which im having difficulty turning into layers in Photoshop, when copying and pasting they will  not copy. It is an 8bit RGB file.
I am wanting to turn it into a jpeg so I can rework the file from scratch as a flat layer.
When i save as a JPEG it saves everything blank,
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated

Thanks c.pfaffenbichler
This has solved my problem for now! Still cant get my head around TIFF files but ill get there one day!
Thank you!

    Hi,
The D810 requires Camera Raw 8.6 or later - the latest version that is compatible with Photoshop Elements 12 is Camera Raw 8.5 as far as I can see.
You need to either buy a new version of Photoshop Elements or use the free Adobe DNG converter.

  • Converting a .tiff file to PDF

I can not seem to convert a .tiff file to PDF, it keeps giving me a error. What can I do? I have Windows 7

Oh dear!  Unfortunately, it sounds like the problem is specific to the file in question, which means that we wouldn't be able to reproduce the error you've been seeing with another file. Why don't you try creating a comparable .tif file and see if you can upload it? I would be very surprised if you received the same error message, so the goal here would just be to isolate the problem as existing only in the other file. If it's not too much trouble, give it a shot.
All that being said, if we can't test the file ourselves, it'll be tough to find a workaround for you. Sometimes certain files contain a piece that our servers have trouble with, so we like to be able to examine the files that prove difficult, and often wrestle them into compliance. I'm sorry not to be able to offer more specific instructions, Sharmaine! Let me know how your experimenting goes.
    Best,

I have the 4S and downloaded a fax reader application that converts the TIFF file to JPEG, solution they recommend is to go to settings, app-general-location services but I don't see a way to do this on my phone, help!

If you are looking for this area, in the newer iOS, it is Settings>Privacy>Location Services. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here, so I cannot give you more information. Is it possible you are trying to give this program access to photos in your Camera Roll? Please provide a little more information.

  • I am an Mac 10.6 Lion user?  How do I convert a .ram file (for a bit of sound) into using with Quicktime?

Having difficulty with a .ram file.  I want to convert it to use with Quicktime.
I also have realised however that my pupil for a lesson (the file is for language-lesson) does not have a Mac anyway, so maybe she won't have Quicktime.  I can ask her to download the latter then.
But -however, the question remains, how can I hear the soundfile and make it compatible with Quicktime?
    Sincerely,
    Susan.

And just for clarity's sake. 10.6 is Snow Leopard; Lion is OS X 10.7. For future questions it will help if you are accurate in the version of Mac OS X you have.
    Regards.

  • How to convert Tiff file into to JPEG....

    Hi,
I want to convert a tiff file into jpeg.
Can someone please show me a simple example on how this can be done.
I want to create a Servlet that reads a blob field that contians tiff image and then convert that into to jpeg and display it in a Browser...
If anyone has any ideas if this is doable i would greatly appreciate if they can advise me on how this can be done.
    Thanks in advance.

Java2 Doesn't support TIFF so you'll have to rely on a 3rd party product. I suggest you look at JAI.
A solution off the top of my brain would be to use a JAI SeekableStream on the BLOB and then send the image to the client throught either a JAI image encoder, or through the default JAI.create statement.
Remember, this is just off the top of my brain. Hope it works out.

  • Extracting Tiff files stored into Oracle 8.1.7 as Long Raw

I have around 1 million tiff images stored into Oracle 8.1.7. The field type is Long Raw. The frontend used to store images into the database is SQL Windows 5 from Gupta Corporation, now called Centura. I guess the images are stored in binary format in the database. I need to extract these images at the OS level. Each Rec_no contains one tiff file in database. The table structure is as follows:
    Rec_no Number(8)
    image Long Raw
My goal is to convert these tiff files to JPG files so that my web application written in ASP.Net can use them and show in IE. The files are required to be converted to jpg as IE does not have native support for showing the tiff files(I hope I am not wrong in this assumption). Can i convert these tiffs to jpg directly inside the oracle database??? or i need to extract them first, save at OS level, convert them and then write back to the database?? Pls give code examples if possible. I plan to migrate the database also from 8i to 10g shortly and this is one of the migration taks. Thanks in advance...

  • TIFF file

In my job , they recently purchased new scanners/copiers, they are TIF files and not PDF.
What is the difference? Is there a converte to Word? I tried to convedrt these files with my PDF converter....obviously it did not work.
    What should I do?

    Good day,
TIFF is a image format that Adobe developed in the early 1990's. To get your TIFF document to a Word format, there are two steps you'll have to undertake with your CreatePDF subscription.
Convert the TIFF file to PDF by logging into the CreatePDF service and clicking the 'Convert a File to PDF' button.
After you've converted the file to a PDF, download and save it to your computer, then use the 'Export PDF to Word/Excel' function to convert the PDF to a Word file.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,

  • How to upload more than one file at a time to convert

I have 1300 tiff files that need to be converted to pdf. Is this possible?? I tried to call for help and set on hold for nearly 1 hour. If this isnt possible then I need to cancel my subscription for it won't be of any help to me

    Hi Derek,
It sounds like you were looking to back convert TO the PDF format.  To do this, you'll want to look at our desktop application, Adobe Acrobat.
As you requested, I have initiated a return of your CreatePDF subscription.

  • Convert slide scan files to .dng?

We are scanning masses of old slide scans and bringing them into Lightroom as .tiffs.  Recently I was told that if I convert those .tiff files to .dng that would enhance developing operations in the Develop module and almost simulate working with a RAW file.
Does anyone have any experience with this process?  And any opinion about it?

The only advantage of DNG over a TIFF is its ability to retain the full RAW capture of a photographic sensor. A scanner works differently, some have a pseudo RAW format...Nikon scanners can do this scanning to the NEF format. But if you have scanned as a TIFF keep the original as a TIFF LR's functionality will be the same with a DNG made from a TIFF and the original TIFF. Whoever is telling you taht you can magically gain information by converting file types is misleading you and DNG compression (whilst the best for RAW formats, isn't any better than TIFF's so the file size remains the same as does the ability to write xmp metadata to the file (rather than as a sidecar file. In brief converting anything other than an original RAW file to the DNG format is just a waste of time.

  • Trying to open a TIF file in 32 bit PS, keeps opening in 64 bit

I have tried changing file type associations in Windows, changing file type associations in Bridge, changing the registry, right clicking and selecting open with, and nothing works. The only way I can do it is to drag my file to the 32 bit PS icon. How do I make 32 bit the default version that opens?
    Windows 7 64 bit
    PS CS6
    Thanks

I was just asking to verify that they were correct.
Windows can get a bit wonky with executable files that have the same name. When you manually try to direct a file to open in a program other than the one it already has set up, if they have the same name, it will just go for the original anyway. I don't really know of a way to force it to work. However, you can set this up in Bridge and from my experience it is entirely dependable. But the Bridge File Type Associations have no control over Windows Explorer.
Have you tried double-clicking the Tiff files in Bridge and have them open in the 32-bit version of Photoshop?

  • Tiff files in slideshow

    Hi there,
Just trying out encore and trying to add my tiff files.
    I am getting
"The software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem"
These are tiff's from Photoshop on my machine, what decoders are needed and where to obtain them, shouldn't they be with the program, the help files state that tiff files are importable?
    David.

    Thanks Jeff,
A follow ... what resolution and format to use for these transcodes? Full-screen (not wide) for NTSC is 720x480, but what about pan and zoom? Do they need any additional resolution?
And the format? JPEG, I guess, but what quality is needed?
    Thanks.
