Trying to create and buy ringtone

I have tried twice to make a ringtone from one of the purchased songs that I have in iTunes. I go to the trouble of setting the start and end times of the song, click the "Buy" button, sign in to iTunes, and then... NOTHING.
There isn't any proof that anything that I've done has been shipped off to have the tone created or anything else. No pop up message that says I did well or failed. NOTHING.
I haven't ever made a ringtone on iTunes before so I don't know whether I'm doing something wrong. I just want my ringtone.

I've already found one way that helps. I wasn't able to buy when the tone wasn't playing. So, I tried it with the tone still playing and it worked. Of course, a pop up asking me if I really wanted to buy without having heard the tone...
Duh.

    Why does my credit car decline when I'm trying to review my credit card details? I'm trying to creat and finish  my apple login but it keeps saying declined. Does Apple charge credit cards just for registering a credit card??

    Just to add to AnaMusic's list:
    Does Apple charge credit cards just for registering a credit card??
    Yes, Apple will validate the credit card, when you are setting up the account information for an Apple ID. The credit card must be valid in the country of the store, that you are trying to buy from. And the card you are using must neither be blocked by the issuer of the card nor by the Apple for store services.
    The error message  you are citing is misleading: The error message could either mean
    that you are using the wrong type of card (Are you using a debit card or a credit card?)
    that the AppeID or the credit card you are using has been blocked for security reasons,
    or that you are encountering a store error, because you are trying to use the iTunes Store or AppStore from a country, where it is not yet supported.

  • Ringtones, Creating and buying

    Why is it that in the new Itunes 10 there is no way to create your own ringtones, and when I search for an artist to purchase a ringtone I simply get ones made by people...not from the actual artist. So how do I add the category back to my library so that I can make my own, and then to add it as a search result?
    Thank you!!

    I do agree that it was very convenient to have the ringtone feature. I hope Apple reimplements it back into iTunes in a future version. I for one, do not have the time to go looking all over the internet for alternate ways to create ringtones from purchased iTunes songs. That's why I used iTunes for that.

  • UPDATE ON CREATING AND SYNCING RINGTONES

    There is a link...
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3792
    to create and ringtones using iTunes 10. This video, be it helpful, is completely out of date. The interface is completely out of date and basically useless. So I am reaching out to any iphone users, is there is a better reference to create ringtones and syncing them to the latest Ip5s utilizing the latest iTunes 11 and higher?
    I am in need of specifics of why the conversion from .mp3 to .m4r doesn’t work as prescribed per the Cnet tutorial video (see link below)…
    http://cnettv.cnet.com/create-free-ringtones-itunes-10/9742-1_53-50093086.html
    …,that is still floating around on the apple site as a reference tool, how the simple drag and drop option does not function the same in the later versions of iTunes 11 and later. Any assistance would be greatlful.

    DIY version
    1. Select a title (.mp3 or .m4a) in your iTunes Library
    2. Do File > Get Info on selected title (Windows do Edit > Get Info)
    3. In the dialog choose Options tab
    4. Set Start Time and End Time (no more than 35 secs otherwise won't work)
    5. Close dialog.
    6. Now control click the title (right click) and choose Create AAC Version
    Note: If you don't have Create AAC version, switch in menu File > Preferences...(Windows do Edit > Preferences...) > General > Import Settings... > Import Using: AAC Encoder.
    7. When it is done, drag the newly create title to the desktop.
    8. Delete the newly create title in iTunes. <-- This step is important
    9. Rename the title on your desktop from ringtone.m4a to ringtone.m4r
    10. Drag and drop it into iTunes
    Now you have a ringtone.
    Make sure it is selected in iTunes > Tones for syncing with your new iPhone.

  • Trying to create and save a new site for the Bayside Beat tutorial but am having trouble

    trying to create a new site as explained by David Powers in this tutorial but I am already getting hung up.
    It tells me to go to site and then to New Site. I do that and type in Bayside Beat on the first line. (as soon as I do that you notice a red X on the right side of Bayside Beat.)
    I'm told to Browse for my folder which is on my desktop and click ok. When I press SAVE another window pops up.
    This time it tells me another site is named Getting Started and I'm asked to enter a different name.
    Question, where is this other site that is named Getting Started? What name do I call it now!?
    So I rename the site name San Francisco and press SAVE and another window pops up.
    This time it tells me I may have further problems still...What am I suppose to do?

    Do you mean, are the contents still in the original folder  or was it transferred to a new folder?
    Does it make a difference if it’s in the original folder?

  • Trying to create and excel graph and having trouble finding properties and methods for active x.

    I am trying to use Active X in labview 7 to create an excel graph and the HasMajorGridlines property for charts is not in my menu. Where can I get this property and others that appear to be missing and what is a good resource (looking for anything, especially books) for for using activeX/Labview/excel together?

    I am not sure if there is a book or tutorial how to use excel with LabView. I ncluded a Vi which gives you access to the HasMajorGridlines property. I hope it gives you the clou how to work with excel obejcts...

  • Problem trying to create and manage external tables

    Hello guys,
    I am having problems having created my external tables trying to select from them. I created the table thus:
    create table job_ext
    (job_id number(3),
    FUNCTION varchar2(30) )
    organization external (type oracle_datapump default directory test_dir
    access parameters (records delimited by newline fields delimited by "~" (job_id number(3) ,
    FUNCTION varchar2(30) ) )
    location ('testdump.lst')
    but on running select * from job_ext, I get the error
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    KUP-00554: error encountered while parsing access parameters

    what am I not doing right.
    Secondly, I wish to ask if an directory object is created, will it be visible on the OS file system?? I am using Oracle 10g complete reference for study but it does not throw light on this.
    thanks

    Hi,
    It looks like you may need to grant permissions to the target directory.
    The ORA-29913 error can also happen in external tables when you don't grant read and write permissions to the directory:
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY extdir AS '/u01/app/oracle./extdir';
    GRANT READ ON DIRECTORY extdir TO myowner;
    GRANT WRITE ON DIRECTORY extdir TO myowner;
    Also, see BUG 5172459 (MetaLink Note:373168.1)
    The problem is that the message file for external tables oin not the English version. These steps will address the issue:
    1. cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/mesg
    2. cp KUP<lang>.msb KUP<lang>.msb.BAK
    3. cp kupus.msb KUP<lang>.msb

    You read a stack trace from bottom up to get a chrnological list of events that led to the problem.
    The last line says that you were executing the main method in
    the Calculator.Main class. On line 26 of the file Main.java, the
    constructor of Calculator.CalculatorInterface was called (see line
    above the last one). <init> stands for constructor. On line 95 of
    CalculatorInterface.java, you called Container.add. As you can see,
    other calls follow. They are internal to the Java libraries, therefore
    not so relevant. You now know that the problem is on line 95 of
    CalculatorInterface.java. Why would a library method "crash"?
    Probably because you gave it a wrong parameter as explained in the
    other answer.

  • Price Difference between creating and buying a iPhoto Book

    I am wanting to purchase an XL iPhoto Hardcover book which is listed as $49.99 plus tax.  When I go to purchase my book however, it is telling me that the book is $73.85?  Any thoughts?  I didn't add any extra pages.

    The base book is 20 pages and that is the base price - extra pages have an additional cost - you have 16 additional pages - if you delete 16 pages and order the base book of 20 pages you will get the base book price - as you have additional pages (no matter whether you added them on purpose of did it using AutoFlow) you have an additional cost per page
    That is not a problem - it is a fact and has been the same since the first photos books were introduced in (I think) iPhoto 6 some eight years ago

  • Creating and Binding View Objects dynamically : Oracle Jdeveloper 11g

    Hello,
    We are trying to create and bind view objects dynamically to adf data visualization components.
    The view object is a result of multiple tables.
    We are using Oracle JDeveloper 11g Technical Preview. ( can't upgrade to TP2 or TP3 now).
    We have found this : http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/07/15/creatingUpdateableMultientityViewObjectDefinitionsDynamically.html on our search for the same.
    The sample application however, is in 10g , hence required migration.
    Also, it was a standalone application with the TestClient.java having a main() method.
    Our requirement is for Web Application; we use Adf+jsf .
    Guidance of any sort is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Anil Golla

    Hi,
    there also exist a forum for JDeveloper 11: JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview
    What you are trying todo is not trivial because you need to not only dynamically create the VO, you would also dynamically need to create the binding meta data for it (assuming you use ADF). Not sure if the API to modify the binding is public, so posting it on the JDeveloper 11 forum bears a glimpse of hope for an answer
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3 you can't do this

    does anyone has a clue maybe???

    You must have an IMAP email account in order to add additional folders on the iPad mail app.
    If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
    If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

  • I Can't create and add en entry in Ldap using Java

    Hello there,
    I'm pretty new to LDAP programming, and I have been trying to create and add an entry to a directory using the code sample provided in the JNDI tutorial, but for some reasons, I didn't manage.
    the configuration file is well set up because I can't create, add, delete and modify just about anything I want from openLDAP command lines, but my real problem is to do it with java.
    here is my code:
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import javax.naming.ldap.*;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import javax.net.ssl.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Newuser
         public static void main (String[] args)
              //LDAPEntry myEntry = new LDAPEntry();
              Hashtable<String, String> env = new Hashtable<String, String>(11);
              String adminName = "CN=ldap_admin,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org";
              String adminPassword = "xxxxxx";
              env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
              //set security credentials, note using simple cleartext authentication
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION,"simple");
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,adminName);
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,adminPassword);
              //connect to my domain controller
              env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://localhost:389/o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org");
                   // Create the initial directory context
                   //JNDILDAPConnectionManager jndiManager = new JNDILDAPConnectionManagerImpl();
                  try{
                       DirContext ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
                        System.out.println("Connection to LDAP server done" );
                       final String groupDN ="ou=people,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org";
                      //DirContext dirCtx = jndiManager.getLDAPDirContext();
                      People people = new People("Thiru","Thiru","Thiru Ganesh","Ramalingam","ou=people","[email protected]");
                      // The Common name must be equal in Attributes common Name
                      ctx.bind("cn=Thiru," + groupDN, people);
                      System.out.println("** Entry added **");
                      //jndiManager.disConnectLDAPConnection(ctx);
                  }catch(NamingException exception){
                      System.out.println("**** Error ****");
                      exception.printStackTrace();
                      System.exit(0);
    }adn this is the class People that i want to instantiate
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import javax.naming.Binding;
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.Name;
    import javax.naming.NameClassPair;
    import javax.naming.NameParser;
    import javax.naming.NamingEnumeration;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    public class People implements DirContext {
         public People(String uid,String cn,String givenname,String sn,String ou,String mail) {
        BasicAttributes myAttrs = new BasicAttributes(true);  //Basic Attributes
        Attribute objectClass = new BasicAttribute("objectclass"); //Adding Object Classes
        objectClass.add("inetOrgPerson");
        /*objectClass.add("organizationalPerson");
        objectClass.add("person");
        objectClass.add("top");*/
        Attribute ouSet = new BasicAttribute("ou");
        ouSet.add("people");
        ouSet.add(ou);
        myAttrs.put(objectClass);
        myAttrs.put(ouSet);
        myAttrs.put("cn",cn);
        myAttrs.put("sn",sn);
        myAttrs.put("mail",mail);
    }as I said, I can add the new entry using an LDIF file "new.txt" that looks like this:
    dn:cn=Hamido Saddo,ou=People,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org
    cn:Hamido Saddo
    mail:[email protected]
    telephonenumber:3838393038703
    sn:hamido
    objectclass:top
    objectclass:person
    objectclass:organizationalPerson
    objectclass:inetOrgPersonusing the following command:
    ldapadd -D "cn=ldap_admin,o=JNDITutorial,dc=org,dc=img" -W -f new.txtand eveything works
    but when i try with the java, i get the following error:
    javax.naming.directory.SchemaViolationException: [LDAP: error code 65 - entry has no objectClass attribute]
    so, can anyone help me please !!!

    uncomment these lines
    /*objectClass.add("organizationalPerson");
    objectClass.add("person");
    objectClass.add("top");*/
    you need all of them to add successfully
    your LDIF has all the four lines
    objectclass:top
    objectclass:person
    objectclass:organizationalPerson
    objectclass:inetOrgPerson
    hope this helps
