Trying to create even columns of text...

I have a brochure that I am trying to design with 4 columns of text. I like the idea of editing the text easily with the text area type options set to 4 columns with a gutter in between each. In each fold is a graphic as shown. I need the columns to fit into each space neatly with the gutters exactly over each graphic but extended evenly on both sides so that the text has a neat space around it, but somehow can not achieve this.
The layout is 8.5x14 with bleeds bringing the complete size to 8.625x14.125.

You have or a compromise
1. make the text frame that much smaller than the page width than the gutter space on both sides, that is left and right of the page and that much smaller top and bottom.
or
2 If you want it to be equal distance from the edge of the paper and the fold of the panels then make it half the distance narrower left and right by half the gutter width and the same top and bottom
or
3.drag the text box out to the safe area, which I think is too close, and then double the distance from the edge of the paper and the safe area and make that the gutter width. use the safe distance for top and bottom.
I think those are the choices.
BTW the columns look even to me as the added white for safe area and bleed allowance makes the two outer columns look much wider.

Trying to Export Details Column as Text Files

In the bin, where all the information is columned regarding (on the right hand side) regarding duration/in/out... and all the other information...
Is there a way to export only that information as a text file of any sort? I have a feature film's length worth of footage, and I'm trying to create a list of all the available shots we have for the crew, what master tape they were captured from, their in and out points, and all that...
(As opposed to print screening the whole thing...)

Export "batch list" will give you a tab delimited text file that can be imported in to a spread sheet. Hide or add columns in the browser for further control.

Creating even columns and rows in flash

I need to create a grid in flash using the drawing tools. The
grid has multiple (10+) columns and rows. Other than using the
ruler and guides is there a way to ensure even spacing with columns
and rows?

Create the lines for the columns and locate the two end lines
where they need to be using the Properties panel X positioning.
Then, with the remaining lines placed between the two end lines,
select all the lines and use the align tool to space them evenly.
Do similarly for the row lines, but on a separate layer. You can
move them to the column layer afterwards.

Trying to create bookmarks but the text is in all caps

We need to make bookmarks in a pdf. The previous versions of Acrobat (we upgraded to XI Pro) we could highlight text on a pdf, click bookmarks and the bookmark title would appear. Unfortunately the text is in all caps. If it possible to set it up so text won’t be in all caps?
The solution is to manually retype each bookmark from all cps to regular text. But if there is a workaround Id love to hear it.

BTW, you will need to '''restore''' that JSON backup file, import is for HTML bookmarks files that were exported from a web browser.

Create equal columns in Pages

Hello all,
Well once again I find myself turning to the greatest forum on the internet. HELP.....
I am trying to create columns in Pages, but when I do, they are not equal (refer to image). Whatever I do just does not work, how do I get them to be the same?

I found out that when the uneven column on the right was created, all I had to do was create a dummy bullet line above and then delete it. This allowed the formating of a new line to remain in place and therefore create even columns. It seems a bit silly that an additional step like this is required, maybe I did something wrong setting it up, if anyone has a solution to my original problem, please let me know.

Page 50 of the Number'09 User Guide explains how to define columns. Download the Guide from the Help Menu in Pages. Inspector > Layout Tab > Layout Button shows details of the columns.
To see the column margins, View > Show Layout:
The blue upside-down triangles on the ruler show left and right margins for Column 1 (the active column where the cursor is). If you thought they were the left margins of both columns, I can see why the columns appeared unequal.
When setting columns, the default is that they are equal. Hope this helps.

Labeling Columns in Text File

Still new to labview and learning - but having difficulty labeling the heading of the columns when writing to text file. I am trying to seperate 13 columns of text and tried a few solutions I have found on the boards, but not having any luck. All help is greatly appreciated.
I am also having problems where I have to delete the root directory address (C:/) before running the VI otherwise I get an error.

now what is your problem...format of the file? what is it that you want when you say headers? can you post a sample text file of what you want it to look like...this is your code and what it outputs, also put a wait(ms) function in your while loop (your using 100% of your cpu).

Error when trying to create a worksheet with 4 columns

Dear All,
I was trying to create a worksheet in tabluar formate base on a table (folder) that has 3 columns (items) .. the worksheet was created successfully .. but when saved it , then closed and tried to reopen it i got the following error
ORA-03120: two-task conversion routine: integer overflow
when i tried to add the columns one by one to the sheet .. it worked till 3 columns .. when i tried to add the fourth one i got that error agian ...
I changed the combinations of the columns ... to make sure that there's no problem in the formate of one of them ..
it worked with any combination of 3 columns
can you help me to solve this problem

Action: Check parameters to Oracle calls. If the problem recurs, reduce all integer parameters, column values not included, to less than 32767.
Which seems even more cryptic.
Then checking on another forum with this error, I saw:
Q. I am getting the above error trying to run a free hand SQL report on two tables that are materialised views (database links) on our reporting database from our production database. Now the bizarre thing with this is that the report does not work on my computer or our production server, however one of my team mates can run the report.
Can anybody explain why this error might occur? I am able to run free hand SQL on any other table. The Oracle error talks about a CLOB, but if that were the case, why would it work on a different machine?
A1. Check if you have the same version Oracle client on the three machines. What happens if you run the query through a different tool like TOAD or SQL*Plus ?
Final A. The problem was due to the different versions of Oracle Client. I was running 9.2 on my PC, I had 9.2 on the server and it wouldn't work. My collegues were running 9.0.1 and had no issues, once I changed back to this version on both my PC and the Server, the problem was gone.
I think the problem was something to do with BO 6.5.1 as the report was developed in 6.1.a and worked fine, as soon as we upgraded the porblem occured.
If you are not using CLOB's, I would suggest going down the track of checking your Oracle ver.
So, with all that info, I'd check:
1. are you using Disco Desktop and getting this?
2. Materialized views?
3. Links to another database in your folder?
4. Do you have a different Oracle client that others? Can others run the same report and all okay?
5. Can you run the same query in TOAD, SQL*Nav, SQL*Dev, etc?

I've been running into this error message when trying to create a new subsite

The formula cannot refer to another column. Check the formula for spelling mistakes or update the formula to reference only this column.
Note everything was working fine before, this just started happening recently...
At first I thought it was because of my template, but as I have tried, I can't even create subsite using the templates provided by Sharepoint...
has anybody encountered similar problems recently?
Any help is apprieciated!

If you create asubsite using the SharePoint default template, what error did you meet? Was it same with the error?
Which site template did you use for the parent site?
Please check whether you can create subsite at other site collection.
In addition, please trace the exact error by using Correlation ID.

ORA-01450 when trying to create index on xmltype column

Hi,
I have a table that contains an xmltype column. It is a schema-based column and uses object-relational structured storage. When I tried to create an index like:
create index ssual_sipuser_idx on ssua_line (extractValue(ssual_configuration, '/ssuaLineApplication/sipUser'));
I got the following:
ORA-01450: maximum key length (3118) exceeded
The sipUser tag is of string type. I have also tried creating the index on the extract function.
create index ssual_sipuser_idx on ssua_line (ssual_configuration.extract('/ssuaLineApplication/sipUser/text()').getStringVal())
Gave me the same error message. My database block size is 4k. This is Oracle 9.2.0.4 running on Solaris.
Any help will be appreciated.

My field is really small, probably around 10 bytes. Actually I've been testing on two servers, a 9201 and a 9204. I know that Oracle doesn't support XML DB on 9201 anymore but our company hasn't switched over yet. Anyways, here's really what I saw:
9201
- creating an index with extractValue() or extract() doesn't work
9204
- extractValue() works
- extract() still doesn't work
Now I'm using the substr() workaround. I should also mention that extractValue() with a numeric field works (using getNumberVal()).
I wonder if specifying the field length in the XML Schema would make a difference. I may try that next.

That was from a project I did a few months ago. Sounds similar to what you want. I did that in After Effects.
Basically all I did was add a glow effect to the text and messed around with the glow parameters. The black smoke is animated and moves on the actual video and is basically some pre keyed smoke footage that I had. The smoke was originally gray but black looked cooler.
I'd say it's pretty close to your hot branding iron thing.

Try comin out of rsa1 transaction and then going back in...else login and logoff. Its generally happens that the changes dont get reflected and it then shows that error.

Hi,
You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

Try the following:
In Finder, select the problematic volume and then press command-I.
Expand the Sharing & permissions section if it's collapsed.
If the section is locked, then unlock it by pressing the padlock button and then authenticating as directed.
Tick/check Ignore ownership on this volume.
