Trying to create Gmail account creates only email, no contacts or calendar

11A few months ago, when I was a brand new BB user, I went through several days of headache trying to get my email, calendar and contacts to synch with Gmail. What finally worked was selecting the Gmail option fromt the advanced account settings. BB then automatically created all three -- an email account, a calendar account and a contacts account. Now my mom just also got a BB (also a Q10, but an older version of the operating system (actually, mine had been the same version, but I had upgraded). I'm trying to set up her accounts the same way and am having problems. For starters, specifying Gmail under advanced options created only an email address. So, I thought maybe the problem was that Mom didn't actually have any entries in her Google calendar, or entries with phone numbers in her Google contacts. I created one in each. Didn't help. Then I thought maybe the behavior was different for the earlier OS version, so I decided to try to create a separte CardDev account for contacts and CalDev for calendar. I haven't tried the CalDev yet, but, when I try to create a CardDev account and enter all the same Gmail info, I get the following error message: "Your login information for account (Contacts - [email protected]) has changed or is incorrect. Update your login information and try again." So, now I'm stuck.

How can it be the same? Cardav and caldav are different systems and contacts aren't events. I did do a search for server settings for carddav and found one ref that said just www.google.com, which is actually what I already set it to.
Anyway, the error isn't telling me it doesn't recognize the server.
I also don't understand why it isn't just working to set it up as a Gmail type account with email, contacts and calendar all present like I have on mine.

Why do some emails show up when I go to gmail directly, but not when I open Mail (which uses gmail as my only email account?

Sometimes I don't receive a message in Mail (which uses gmail as my only email account) so I have to go to Gmail through Google to find it. This just started recently. Can this be fixed?

DO you have rules set up on mac? If Mail is closed and not talking to gmail and you use your browser it will not have processeed all the rules, junk, spam, etc?

By setting up your GMail account to forward emails to your iCloud email account address.
You won't be able to reply from your Gmail address from within iCloud though.

The iPad will support multiple Gmail accounts, but of course you have to set each one up individually. Did you set up both accounts? Go into Settings/ Mail, Contacts, Calendars to confirm both accounts exist. If they do, also familiarize yourself on how to navigate between accounts to make sure you can view your Inbox. You may also want to check your settings to make sure that you have the default account set up as you expect for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes (if you're using all those features). That is important only when initiating something new, you have to have a default account to do such a thing so make sure the default is your account since it is your iPad (assuming that's what you want).
Alternatively, install the free Gmail app and then use only his (or your) account with that app and use the standard iOS Mail app for the other account.

Assuming that you can send email on the iPad, Maybe something is corrupt in Safari that is causing this. Try clearing Safari and see if the sites will accept your email address.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching
Check the "Last Sync Time" to indicate if this device is still active or not.

Trying to create an email address

Today I created 2 email addresses successfully for a BC site. I got the invite email, set the passwords and everything worked just as it should do.
Then I tried to create a third account. Got the invite email, clicked the link, set the password - then nothing.
Here's the initial screen to set the password...

And from there, it won't let me go any further. I've deleted the email address and started again several times. I'm already logged into BC in another tab. And I've tried 3 different browsers.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is? Is it a BC server issue?

Someone from Live Chat support got the email going ok in the end. But they were unsure as to why it wasn't working in the first place.
They escalated the issue to be looked into properly and nobody was able to replicate the issue, so couldn't really solve anything.
Anyway, the email is working fine, so problem solved for now. Probably just a random glitch.

Trying to update my account with new email address.

My original account details I put in the wrong (non existent) email address.
Problem is appears I have since already setup a new account with new email address from my iphone.
Now verification emails are being sent to non existnet email address and I can't change itunes account on laptop.

Did you update your old iTunes account or create a new one ? If you updated the old one then try logging out of your account by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad. If you created a new account then you will need to continue to use the old account to download updates to its apps (or to redownload its content) - content is tied to the account that bought/downloaded it and it can't be transferred to a different account.

Multiple Gmail accounts but only one notification icon

I just got the Z2 after struggling for a while with an ageing and annoying phone, and in general I'm pretty happy with it.
But I have a problem with gmail notifications, and it's hard to find info on this on the web because it just turns up a lot of stuff about the notification sounds, which is not my issue.
I have three gmail accounts, two private and one for work. With all my previous phones, when I had mail incoming, I'd get one notification icon in the status bar per account. So if I had unread mail in all three accounts, I'd three gmail icons in the notification bar.
The Z2 seems to lump them all together, and I only get one single icon regardless of how many accounts have unread email. I find this quite annoying and not something I expected at ALL. (Even my first very crummy internet-capable phone did multiple notifications.) Is this a bug, or is there a way to change a setting?

As far as i'm aware the icon in the status bar is a standard thing, like you i have 3 email accounts (BT Internet tho) & when i have an email the icon appears & i have to toggle thru the accounts. I dont really use GMAIL but on the Gmail App does it not register with a number saying how many you have?????
You could look into perhaps a different notifier in the Play Store......

Error message when trying to open Gmail account on iPhone

When attempting to open my gmail account on my iPhone, I get a message that pops up each time that says, "Cannot get Mail" The connection to the server failed. When I hit the OK button about four times, the message goes away and my email is accessible. How can I fix this problem?

I have 2 Gmail accounts, one Google Apps account and one regular Google account.
I use one for my business and the other for personal use.
Each account has a number of contacts (business contacts in the Google Apps account, and personal in the other). My problem is that when I made the configuration, only my personal contacts shows, not the one in the my business account
E-mail and calendars work just fine but the issue with contacts really bothers me. Can some one help?

You can't sync contacts between iPhone and Google directly and (i've tested this right now) you can't sync iTunes with two Google Accounts but only with one Google Account.
There is only one solution: First go to your private Google Account (use the website) and select Contacts. Select all contacts and export them as vCard (for Apple addressbook) and import them into iCloud addressbook. Now do the same with your business Google Account.
It is possible that there is a 3rd-party software which can do this automatically but i don't know any. Sorry!

Under the mails settings, the gmail account is the default account. You can change that. If you go into another mailbox, say yahoo. It will use your yahoo account to reply or send. You have to be in that specified email box. As far as clicking a an email off a site or emailing when your not in a specific email box, it will use the default email. You can either change the default in settings or click your email address in the email and change to the one you'd like.

Zeen only shows exchange contacts and calendar setup?

When I open the caldendar or contacts app, the only accounts to add is "Exchange". I could have sworn this thing had google or some other kind of option. Did they take everything out after the last updated code?

You can add a Gmail account, it also works. It's not just for Exchange. Choose Contacts, then follow the instructions, Menu, Accounts, Add account, then type in your @gmail account and the password. Select Next button to configure your settings.
