Trying to create the login sample portlet.

Ok, I did the following:
1. Created a portal domain on my system. (But it was not a choice in later parts so did not use it.)
2. Created a new portal application and added a portal web project to it - http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/portal/buildportals/addPortalApp.html?skipReload=true It had the server set to "c:\bea\weblogic81\samples\domains\workshop" so I left it on that figuring the default was correct. It told me that that server did not include a portal so I then selected "c:\bea\weblogic81\samples\domains\portal"
3. In http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/portal/samples/login.html?skipReload=true it then says to copy files to "<PORTAL_APP>/<project>/portlets/..." - is this "C:\bea\user_projects\applications\MyFirst\MyPortal\portlets\..."? There is no portlets directory. Also, there are a boatload of files under this directory - does WebLogic Workshop put all of these there when it creates a portal?

i donot know the server he used in his example. All you need is to
replace the server deployment descriptors he used to weblogic descriptors. then rebuild. go to admin tool--localhost:7001/console
and login with weblogic as username and password
then on ejb you can then deploy the ejb.read on the console.

Satellite U205-S5034 - Error when trying to create the recovery discs

Hi Everyone,
I am having trouble with The TOSHIBA Recovery Disk Creator. When trying to create the recovery discs this error comes up:
An unexpected error occurred. Please quit this application and restart it. (Error Code: 0F00FE-F1-00000002)
The machine is a Satellite U205-S5034 running XP Pro SP3.

What kind of DVDs you are using for creating a Toshiba recovery disc? As yet I have tried Verbatim DVD-R and TDK DVD-R and never had a problem with these discs. Friend of tried DVD+R and he couldnt create a recovery disc. After that he tried DVD-R and all was fine but I dont know why this happened.
So please try other discs.
Furthermore check the Toshiba page for a firmware update of CD/DVD drive. Maybe it will help you.

I find that if you have multiple 3d object they must be merged into a single 3d layer their positions reset to align to the same axises then sized and positioned along them. I am trying to use that API using java, so i created a java file with native methods. and created a cpp file in which i am trying to create the instance of the dll file using CreateInstance(__uuidof) method. But the problem is, when the native call tries to execute the CreateInstance(__uuidof) line, jvm quits abruptly, Please suggests me where i am wrong.

It all depends on the strategy you manage for the budget and availability control. Do you manage budget through BCS? You have to check what budget address is derived when you post a document on your FC (via FMBSDERIBO transaction). Additonally, you can check what AVC object is derived (if you have AVC strategy for deriving controlling objects) via FMAVCDERIAO. Another thing, is to check tolerance profiles - FMAVCDERITPROF.
Another thing to check is to reconstruct the AVC ledger, becasue sometimes system requires it, otherwise wrong budget amounts are checked while posting documents. You can do it via FMAVCREINIT.
Budget will be taken from upper nodes, only if you say so (in the transactions I mentioned).
Regarding your other question, if the budget should be derived on FC 'XXX' and no tolerance profile exists, then zero-budget does not mean unrestricted budget.

I can create a table in my own schema. I am left to assume copyEvolve is trying to create the table someplace else, but where?
The oracle docs say "If there are schema-based XMLType tables or columns in other database schemas, you need privileges such as the following: CREATE ANY TABLE" I have CREATE TABLE but not CREATE ANY TABLE (and have little hope of getting it from our DBAs!) but I didn't think this would be an issue since the XML schema I am trying to evolve is only used by an object in my schema. Anyone have any idea what privilige it is that I am missing?

Getting error while trying to create the push certificate...

I am getting the following error while trying to create a push certificate for the mdm from the apple site.
Certificate Signature Verification failed because the signature is invalid.
I am mdm vendor as well as the customer. I did the following steps.
openssl x509 -inform der -in mdm_identity.cer -out mdm.pem
openssl x509 -inform der -in AppleWWDRCA.cer -out intermediate.pem
openssl x509 -inform der -in AppleIncRootCertificate.cer -out root.pem
openssl req -inform pem -outform der -in customer.csr -out customer.der
created the plist_encoded file using a java program which uses the "SHA1WthRSA"
When i tried to upload the plist_encoded file to the apple site (https://identity.apple.com/pushcert/), it creates a file with the following error

I am attempting to follow the directions at:

on the creation of an import /export job. However, when I follow through to the point of:

Quick Glance, click Create an Import Job.
Under my management portal, I have a dashboard, but I do not have a "quick glance" or anything that leads to a 'create import job'.
It seems like there is something that I am just not getting here..

This is caused because the dimension ids need to be unique across the entire dimension. If you generate a key that this is guaranteed.

Just few minutes after asking this question on forum, I was able to find the workaround for opening the DashboardDesigner.exe.
What I was trying earlier was that, In my "Business Intelligence Center" site, i was trying to open the Dashboard Designer from "PerformancePoint Content" list by clicking "New Item" from "Items" tab in Ribbon.
Instead Now I go to the connections library "Data Connections", Go to "Documents" tab in Ribbon and then click on "New Document".
Voila!
Finally "DashboardDesinger.exe" opens up! :D
Now from this designer application, I can add other Lists directly and can add "PerformancePoint Content" list for creating actual ScoreCards, Dashboards, KPIs etc.

Trying to create a login form using j_security_check

Ok, here's the deal.
I have a login.jsp that uses the j_security_check. The page works great if I request a protected resource and the container forwards me to the login page.
However, if I access the login page directly "http:/server/app/login.jsp" and submit the form I get a 404 "Page not found" error. This really stinks because I need to add the login fields to the index page of the site and allow people to login at their discreation (only peices of the site are protected, but unprotected pieces have different functionality for logged in users). From personal experience Tomcat, JRun and WebSphere allow you to post to the j_security_check uri at anytime. What's the deal?

Directly going to login page will not work because "j_security_check" cannot work independently and is supposed to work in conjuction with a protected URL.
I looked at Servlet specification (Section 11.5.3 of Servlet 2.2) and this does not say anything about directly going to login page.
You can create an index page and have that secured and whenever users can try to access that page they will be forwarded to the login page.
You may use Programmatic Security if Declarity security is insufficient for you.

Hi,
The account group for which you are trying to create a vendor is having external number range assignment.
So, in XK01 you need to enter the vendor account number which you are going to create.
Since the number range is external, system will not generate the vendor number automaticlly. user need to enter the number externally while creating the vendor.
