Trying to delete some songs from my itunes account.

When I right-click the only option to DELETE that I am given is to HIDE the item in my itunes account. I do not wish to hide the item. I would like to completely delete. Any help??

If you purchased the song from iTunes (not iCloud) then you can only hide it.
iCloud does not sell or store music, iTunes does that.

I just got a new iPhone 4 and i tried to download some songs from my itunes account onto my phone and it bricked my phone! So I can't use my phone, it's locked. It shows a plug going into an adaptor frozen on my phone. How can I resolve this problem? I got my phone at Verizon yesterday so I went back to see if they could help me today and they didn't know anything about it at the Verizon store. Theyy said to try IMac store here in town...

Ask the Verizon store to exchange your iPhone for a different iPhone 4.
UPDATE - Sure, try ckuan's solution first.  Then use mine if that fails.

    Hey renie1515,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
When you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.
    Have a nice day,

I am having trouble syncing my itouch I recently purchased some songs from the itunes store. I ma trying to sync them to my itouch. When I do I get the following message "itunes sync..67 items could not be synced"Anyone have an advice on how to sync these items?

Connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Reset Warnings.  Then sync again and you should get a warning listing the problem files.

  • I want to delete some songs from iTunes but no delete button appears when i right click or when i try to delete it from edit. what can i do?

I want to delete some songs from iTunes but no delete button appears when i right click or when i try to delete it from edit. what can i do?

If the songs are downloaded into your iTunes library (i.e. they don't have the cloud icon against them) then you should be able to delete them by selecting them and pressing the delete button on your keyboard.
If they do have the cloud icon then they are in the cloud - you can turn off the showing of all icloud music via the 'Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases' on the Store tab in iTunes > Preferences (command-comma), or you can hide individual tracks and/or albums so that they don't show in the cloud : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.

  • I cannot delete some songs from 4s and I already tried to sweep and delete will hook to my lap top

I cannot delete some songs from my 4s phone and have tried all the suggestions posted.

    Hey uwscottc,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPhone in relation to music. Does the music that appeared on your device have a cloud symbol next to it when viewed in “Songs”? If so, it sounds like these songs are not yet downloaded to your phone. Instead, it sounds like you have the “Show All [Music]” setting enabled (by default in iOS 7):
    iPhone User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Deleting some songs from iphone 4s

I am trying to delete some songs that showed up on my iphone4s since I updated to ios7.
I have turned off the "show all music" feature and any other feature that automatically adds anything to my phone.
I have at least 2 songs on my phone that I can not delete. Swiping them on the phone doesn't do anything. When I open itunes on my computer and look at "on this iphone" and they are not listed in the list of songs so I can not delete them from there. The songs are listed in the songs in the main itunes listing. They are songs that my daughter purchased so I would rather not delete completely, just want to get them off my phone.
    Thanks

amen i have the exact problem - is there an answer?

  • Some songs from my iTunes library do not show in my Finder music folder

Some songs from my iTunes library do not show in my Finder music folder. For example one of the three CD's form a triple album do not show in Finder. And therefore they do not get saved when I back up my Mac either. Any ideas?

Consolidate ("organize") simply looks at everything you have in iTunes and copies them to the iTunes media folder location specified in iTunes prefs -> Advanced.  If you select to use the default settings iTunes will copy any files in its library in the correct location in the media folder.  Since you don't want the files in a different locaiton really but just want to deal with some stragglers don't do the full "move" in hte instructions below but make sure they are organized.
iTunes 11 for Mac: Change where your iTunes files are stored - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12165
The files will be copied so you will need to find the originals abd once you are content the library is working you can get rid of them (I often archive them on an external drive, delete the originals, then play the files which is a sure test if you have a workable copy on the computer).

  • Transfering some songs from my iTunes library to my laptop library

I have iTunes installed on both my desktop and my laptop. I am moving shortly and will be using my laptop only. I would like to have all my music on my laptop and iPod mini before I go. The problem is when I upload my CD's onto my laptop I can't get the artist/song/album information because I do not have internet access (and won't until I move -- the whole point is to leave my CD's behind).
I know I can use my iPod as a hard drive to transfer my entire library to a new computer -- but how can I use it to transfer some songs from one iTunes library to another?
    Thanks for your time!
    Dell   Windows XP

basically, similar techniques apply when moving just a few songs. although the following document is about Music Store purchases, it's applicable to CD-ripped files too:

just in case, here's another couple of resources that might come in handy:

  • How do I delete a song from my Itunes library? I follow the instructions and right click on the song and click delete from the drop down menu but, then it asks me if I am sure I want to hide this song in Iclouds? I dont even know what Iclouds is?!?! HELP!

How do I delete a song from my Itunes music library? I follow the instructions and right click on the song and then select "delete" as specified and my info claims at that point it will ask if I want to send this song to my trash bin, but, instead, when I try to delete the song, I get another window asking "are you sure you want to hide this song in iCloud? I don't even know what iCloud is?!?!? I don't want iCloud and just want to get rid of old songs!!! HELP ME!!!

    Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
    Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

  • How can I delete a song from iCloud / iTunes Match, but keep it on my Mac?

How can I delete a song from iCloud / iTunes Match, but keep it on my Mac?
I subscribed to iTunes Match a few weeks ago and my entire library was uploaded.  I do not want all of my library in the Cloud, especially given that there is a space/song limitation.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

Apologies Brandon, we have moved on somewhat from your original question.
What I have done is effectively used Michael's idea. I'll try to explain a little further.
You can run iTunes match on up to 5 computers, and you can edit the iCloud library on any of them. Michael's idea works on the basis that, whilst you can edit the iTunes library, you can't remove songs from other computers.
I have basically the same setup as you, but I also have a MacBook Air, which is running iTunes Match but without any music downloaded so it all streams.
I added the songs on my main library, which then added them to the cloud. When they appeared on my MacBook I deleted them straight away. As there was no local copy I was asked if I wanted to delete them from the cloud, and I said yes. When I went back to my main computer I found that, as expected, they were still there, but the iCloud status is "removed". They are therefore on my library but not in iCloud.
Since then I have run match updates a couple of times and there is no sign as yet that it will try to add them back to the cloud. It's too early to say that this is a definate answer to your problem, but it looks very hopeful.
Our other discussions have moved onto the 25,000 son limit, which I note from your comment you may also be interested in. Watch this space.
If you don't have access to a second computer to run the other library on then look back at Michael's post where he explains how to set it up on your main computer.
    Hope that clarifies a bit.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
