Trying to do an Apple style video with a blown out white background. Is there a way to get zebras on screen?
New to grading, but figured there had to be a way to get zebras to see what's overexposed/underexposed quickly like on a monitor when filming? Or is there a tutorial for this somewhere on how to achieve this effect within SpeedGrade? I also have to match clips that were shot at slightly different lighting setups, but still blow out the background on all of them. Thanks!
This is what the scopes are for ... which Speedgrade "hides" off the left edge of the screen.Here's where they're hid:
And here's what it looks like with the Vectorscope YUV (really useful!), Histogram (occasionally useful, often replace it with "Wave"), and Parade which is especially useful in exposure/gain, contrast, and white-balancing. Note where it says " 3 Scopes Layout " ... click in that area to choose how many scopes, and right click on each resultant pane to choose which scope to show there.

Yes, you can import to an external drive by choosing it from the Import Screen.
Once an Event or Project is in iMovie, it is best to move it to the external using iMovie, so the Project does not lose links to the Event.

I'm an American living in Okinawa Japan, Just bought an apple os-x now I'm trying to buy some movies, but not authorized because my computer is American is there a way to get around this? I have a Visa and can use this any where in Japan and in the States. However, when I try to use it with Apple it will not allow. Can I use PayPal?

See this support document regarding what Bluetooth profiles the iPhone supports. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647. It appears the iPhone 4 and above support MAP, if you have the latest iOS on your device. Other configuration issues might need to be addressed with the vehicle manufacturer/dealer as far as how much it supports in their operation.

Ipad2 came without messages app. Please help me in figuring out why! :)
What version of iOS have you get (Settings > General > About > Version) ? Messages was introduced with iOS 5, so if you aren't on that then you can update to it and you should get the Messages app.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTnnes and copy any purchases off the iPad via File > Transfer Purchases (you may also want to copy photos off the iPad as well) and then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'. You may also want to copy off the iPad any important documents, notes, files etc e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case.
You can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button.

Did you backup your iPhone to iTunes?
You can restore your iPhone from a backup.
If there are multiple backup devices, look for your backup and restore yoyr iPhone from that backup. -
The song I downloaded (Slayer, Criminally Isane) cuts off about 3 seconds before the ending, I have tried re-downloding per apple support directions with the same results. What further actions may I take to fix this issue?
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -

Click on the blue Internet Recovery in nbar's post. That is a link to what computers can run Internet Recovery.
Do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.

I got the new Korn album on iTunes. Eleven included videos are massive files which all but filled my pod up.
