Trying to dowload the latest version of itunes and I get a message that it can not remove the old version
I bought a new touch and tried to plug it into my pc. itunes said I need the 10.5 version with new ipod. I downloaded the latest version and when I try to install it to my pc it gives me the message that it can not remove the old version and contact tech support. Please help.
A window pops up when I try to install that says the old version of itunes can not be removed contact tech support. Then another window pops up that says the feature you ar trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select anyiTunesentries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

From your description it sounds as if you may still have the old http://www.google.com/firefox Firefox start page hosted by Google as your homepage. This old default homepage is no longer used as '''about:home''' has been in use since Firefox 4.0
Either ignore the message, change homepage to '''about:home''', change it to another page or leave blank.

If the Office updates have to be run through Win in Parallels, there's not really a section here that covers that , because Neither Office or Parallels are Apple products. There is only a small chance that you'll find someone with BOTH your conditions who just happend to look into a forum on older iMacs.

My problem is a sudden loss of ability to get to PSE12 Organizer when I tried to load a saved scan. Had been using the Organizer and the Editor with no problems for several hours just before that.
Can not load the Organizer from the icon at the bottom of Editor screen, from the icon on the MacBook Air dock (OS 10.10.2), nor from the file in applications located with Finder.
I have tried without success to access Organizer after turning off and on the scanner, turning off and on the computer, loading a fresh copy of PSE12 from the CD, and restoring default preferences. I have searched on line for other options but not found any.

I tried to download Firefox 4.0 on my Mac Intel running OS 10.6.6. I get a message that it can not download because libsmime3.dylib is open. And now FirFox 3.6 has disappeared. What do i do?
FireFox can't open lots of files it isn't suposed to. DMG is opened by the Mac osx as a virtual volume file you just drag the FireFox icon to where you want it installed. Check your desktop for a FireFox volume... like a drive. Double click the DMG file if it is not there. This is how Mac works it has nothing to do with FireFox, many apps install this way!

I tried to check the alined box, but it would not work. I was able to check

When I click on an Icon on my desktop to take me to a site (such as Google) I get a message that it could not find the location. Then it goes ahead and opens a Firefox window with the site anyway as if the message never happened. Then when I close the window I see that the message is still there. I have to close it separately. Any suggestions? Oh, and this only happens if Firefox is NOT already active. If I have another Firefox window open when I click on the Icon, it just opens as expected. This message appears no matter which site Icon I select. It did not happen before I upgraded to ver 9.0.

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

I recently visited Egypt with my iPad. I am now back in the USA. I tried to download a new app, and I got a message that I could not download from the Australian store. I was told I need to switch back to the USA store. I did not deliberately switch to the Australian store. Why doesn't the iPad automatically switch back to the USA.

I discovered that when I restored my harddrive a few weeks back, not all of my music in iTunes was restored. Now when I go back to an earlier date in my Time Capsule, I get a message that I don't have permissiom to see the files. What do I need to do to access these files?
