When trying to download apps they load for ages then just as the progress bar starts to move the screen goes black and phone restarts!

The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

It's not referencing your iTunes version. It's referencing your device's iOS version. An iPhone 3G has a maximum iOS of 4.2.1. If an app requires an iOS higher than that, it will not work on your iPhone 3G.

This update is not available for this apple ID because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
How do u fix this??

Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
Either use the original AppleID or delete the app and then download again
using your current AppleID. You cannot transfer an app from one AppleID to
another, nor can you merge AppleIDs.

Yes, I have not made myself clear, I apologise.
I have tried downloading apps from itunes in order to set up a game for my son, when I go to click on a link, be this in itunes, or on the web, Safari revolts back informing the address is invalid. I read by coping a link and pasting into the URL, this would do it, but not so.
My goal then, is to install Minecraft for my son, I would then download an app to allow this but I am unable to get this far due to Safari insulting the address I ask it to go to
The iPad is first generation
OS 5.1.1 Software up to date.

Tap on your Apple ID at the top
Tap "View Apple ID"
Enter password if needed
Tap "Country/Region"
Tap "Change Country or Region"
You may need to change to a UK credit card.

Try this:
1. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off
2. Set the date ahead by a few months
3. You should then be able to connect to the store

I was told that if you reset the password then u can get in and reset the security questions, but I am having problems with it. Apple also has a page on it in there support area, u just have to type it into the search engine and it gives u a list a messages about security questions and support pages.

That error message is usually indicative of a problem with the App Store. If you look through the forums, you'll see that a number of people are experiencing the problem. Try again tomorrow.

I am trying to download apps but all that is happening is that I get a waiting under the app. I am downloading from the app store. This has been going on for 3 days now, I can sync it to my PC and it will download the app but that's not what I want. Thank

I am trying to download apps but all that happens is the icon appears with a "waiting" underneath it. Updates do the same and so I am not able to download anything. I have rebooted the iPad this hasn't helped. I am able to sync the iPad with my PC and this updates everything. I would however not have to do this constantly. Reboot your iPad and then see if you can set the security questions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

You can't use Safari to download iPad apps. Only use iTunes/App Store.

try going to settings>store, click on apple id and then sign out. Restart iphone and sign back in and try downloading again
