Trying to download flash player to use Shutterfly and when it gets to 50% installation,

it says disconnect internet. it repeats that error message

Easiest way to do this is:
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and choosing "Save Target as".
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save it to your downloads folder - DO NOT run it yet!
Reboot your system.
BEFORE you open anything else, locate and run the installer.
If it still gives you trouble, see: Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and:ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  for further steps.

  • I'm trying to download Flash Player to my Macbook, and it keeps on stopping in the midst of downloading and saying "you need to quit safari" even though all of my Safari windows are closed, what do I do?

    Thanks for any help

Keep in mind that on the Mac, even if you close all windows of an application, the application itself may still be running with no windows open. If you have closed all Safari windows, look at the Dock to see if there is a glowing dot under the Safari icon. If there is a dot, Safari is still running, so click the Dock icon and then choose Safari/Quit Safari.
As an alternative to looking for the dot under an application in the Dock, I often use the Command-Tab keyboard shortcut to display the Application Switcher so I can see which applications are still open.
You don't have to open Activity Monitor to quit a program unless there really is no way to way to do it from the normal interface.
The only applications that quit when you close the window are the ones that only have one window, like System Preferences.

  • Problem trying to download Flash Player

First of all I am so sorry if there was a post for this problem that I didn't see.  But I am trying to install Flash player on my computer and I keep getting an error message that reads:
The instruction at "0x0e7c0068" referenced memory at "0x0e7c0068".  The memory could not be written
    OK to terminate
    CANCEL to debug
I have tried terminating and canceling with no luck.  It still gives me the same error.  I can't click on the Active X control bar at the top of the screen because of this error message.  I can't even check which version I have because I keep getting this same error.  I manually installed Active X from a help page but I still get the error message.
Can you see my frustration.  Please any help is appreciated!!!  I even uninstalled all of my Adobe stuff, restarted the computer and tried downloading again.  I am going insane!!!  I'm not very computer savy so I really need your help.
    Thanks

Hi thanks. You would probably already know if you have a 64bit. Go up to Help and click on About Internet Explorer, if you see x86 you are not using the 64bit.
You might try the Flash Player Installer for Internet Explorer and download it to your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
The Uninstaller for Flash Player can also be downloaded and put it on your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
You may want to print the Uninstaller so it is easier to follow. Also make sure you have followed the steps for Security settings, disabling any applications that use Flash. Closing all browsers, etc.  Also be sure to Reboot after Uninstalling and then Reboot a second time, as this is done to be sure old Flash files are removed.
If you have any other questions, just post back.
    Thanks,

  • The video downloading is extremely slow after downloading Flash Player Active X (IE) and FP Plug-in

I have Windows 7 on a 64-bit operating system, and have Firefox 19 and Internet Explorer 8. I tried installing Flash Player 11.6.602.171 from the Adobe Website and got an error message right at 47% download "can not contact reliable source." I also tried uninstalling whatever Flash Player I had, but I continued to get the same error message at 47% "can not contact reliable source." Finally, following the advice found in the link below under "Program Bar Hangs During Download," I downloaded Flash Player ActiveX (internet explorer) and Flash Player Plug-In (all other browsers). It appeared that both downloads were successful and I verified that the installation was complete in the link below under "Verify that installation is complete." It says I have Flash Player 11.6.602.171. My issue now is that whenever I watch videos that use Flash Player, the downloading of videos is extremely slow.  For example, a 45 second youtube video might take 30 minutes to watch. I have tried everything (from General Info, Download Issues, Installation Issues, Post-Installation Issues) in this Adobe installation problem page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html but the problem has not improved. Can someone please help me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, I went on this link under Progress Bar Hangs During Download
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
and then I downloaded Flash Player directly by clicking the links provided Flash Player for ActiveX (IE) and then Flash Player Plug-In (All browsers).  After my installations were complete, I tried watching any youtube videos or videos on www.ABC.com and the loading of videos was extremely slow.

  • Went to watch a video on You Tube that I have watched before on my iMac and got the prompt that I had to upload Adobe Flash Player.  Did that, and am still getting the same prompt and can't watch any videos at all.  What is going on here, Apple??

Went to watch a video on You Tube that I have watched before on my iMac and got the prompt that I had to upload Adobe Flash Player.  Did that, and am still getting the same prompt and can't watch any videos at all.  What is going on here, Apple??

I do not know how to do this with an Apple TV (I don't have one), but as far as I know Apple TV only does mirroring.
If you have an HDMI cable long enough to reach your TV from where you sit, then it's easy. The TV could be set up in Extended Desktop mode (mirroring off) as if it was simply another computer monitor, and then you could just drag windows to it. If you have the Displays icon in your menu bar, that's where the setting is, or if the icon is not there, then the setting is in the Displays system preference. But again, that's for conventionally connected monitors, not Apple TV. If you don't have an HDMI cable and wanted a long one that's affordable you can get those at monoprice.com.
The answer we are still waiting for is if anyone knows if Apple TV can be used in extended desktop (non-mirroring) mode.

I was trying to download the new Black Ops (Strike Team) app and when I try to download it, it says I don't have enough storage space. I made sure I had 1.31 GB of space (like it requires) but it still says I don't have enough space. I even tried to delete more 2.5 GB (I have the iPhone 4S) and the app specifically says that is is compatable with iPhone 4S. I even tried rebooting the phone a couple times before downloading, but it still says the same thing.

The app you are trying to download my be a zipped file and more space than 1.3GB.  go to settings/general/usage and delete what you no longer want to make more space

  • Error when trying to download Flash Player Update for Firefox

    Hello,
I am having a issue while trying to download 11,5,502,135 for Firefox on the destop.. keep getting the errror message (have the same issue while trying to use IE) .. I currently have version 1,5,502,110 on the desktop and works just fine.. been having this issue for some time trying to download 135..have tried everything that Adobe suggested but to no avail... I do have 11,5,502,135 downloaded on the laptop, same company, same system, same browser, same setup...the only difference the desktop has Norton, the laptop has AVG... but Norton don't seem to have a issue with the update...
    Any suggestions?...
    Larry Woller

    Hello,
I was getting a script error..I had been to the website that you had posted and tried several suggestions.. this time I went to the site and used the " Flash Player Plugin (For all other browsers)" and for the first time I got a popup saying something to the effect "will finish installation when Mozilla closes).. in the past I would leave the website to access the Flash player download and the Firefox download window open and apparently the player installer and Firefox were  having a conflict.. I closed Firefox and the download window and the download continued and was successful.. will have to add that to my notes, make sure Mozilla is closed once I get the Save window before downloading Flasy Player...
Thanks for your prompt reply and help...

  • I've tried to download flash player several times onto my iMac, but still can't run any videos.

I have tried downloading and installing Flash Player on my iMac several times.  It goes all the way through the finish screen, but I still can't view videos.  I still get a flyout that says I need Flash Player.  I cannot find Flah Player anywhere on my iMac.  I have looked under Applications, Devices, Documents, and even Utilities.  Nothing.  I do find the installer program, but it only wants to uninstall a Flash Player program that doesn't exist.  Any ideas as to what is going on?

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf

  • I am trying to download the latest version of Adobe and when I go to the Downloads place on my PC, it's not there. How can I make sure Firefox is not blocking

I know I have the latest version of the browser (because it told me so). When I hit the Download now button for the Adobe and indicate that I want to save it, it seems to take, but when I go to the Downloads on my Computer, it isn't there. I don't know where else to look or what else to check. I think I have successfully done this in the past, but it's been a while.

Do you have the "Green Arrow" icon on one of your toolbars? That usually will list your most recent downloads with a button to open the folder where they are saved.
If you don't have that, you can open the full download list using either:
    * Ctrl+j
    * Tools > Downloads
    * History > Show All History, then click Downloads in the left column
Can you find the download listed there and click the "Open Containing Folder" button?
Are you downloading Flash or Acrobat/Reader?
    For Flash try: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
For Acrobat/Reader, you may not need an update.
Firefox's plugin check site only recognizes the Adobe XI (11) series as current, but if you have checked for updates in your Adobe Reader X or Adobe Acrobat X product (Help > Check for Updates) then you do not need to update the plugin. For this older Reader/Acrobat version, please rely on Adobe for information on available updates and not the plugin check site.
