Trying to download Itunes 10.7 and am getting installer error message. Error occurs towards end of install process
I am trying to upgrade Itunes 10.7 so I can access apps for Iphone 4S. While installing I get an error message indicating theres is a problem with the windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Any idea how to resolve this issue?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

Are you running Kaspersky security software on that PC? (There's been a few reports in recent times of Kaspersky interfering with iTunes installs, with that message being produced.)
If there is Kaspersky on board, we should try some general-principles getting-past-security-software-interference troubleshooting.
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (32-bit installer file) or iTunes64Setup.exe to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the install just yet.)

Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Any better luck with the security software shut down? -

Well, if your MacBook Pro is new, it already has Mavericks installed and there is nothing to update.
Go to the Menu Bar, and click the Apple logo. Then click "About This Mac." Does it show OS X 10.9 or 10.9.1?
If so you are already running Mavericks. -
I am trying to download itunes to PC and it downloads but then says Service Apple Mobile Device failed to restart. Verify sufficient privileges to start system services. What do I need to do? I am an Administrator on the PC so what else needs attention?

I am trying to download a free app and keep getting the message 'unable to download application' and says I have to sign in to the iTunes store...which I have! What else do I need to do?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that. -
When I try to play a downloaded TV show, itunes stops working and I get a error message "APPCRASH". I have updated itunes and removed and reinstalled quicktime.
Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:

Quit the QuickTime Player if you have it open. Restart the PC and try watching the videos in iTunes again. Do they play now? -
