Trying to download Itunes 11.1 and it states need Apple support program??

Unable to download Itunes to my PC. I have the new IPAD AIR and need 11.1. ?? Do I need to download a flash player maybe? Error message states "need Apple support program"

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Hi txatxo
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  You may need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service.  This article has instructions for doing this:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567
If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend trying a thorough uninstall and reinstall of iTunes as described here:

Are you running Kaspersky security software on that PC? (There's been a few reports in recent times of Kaspersky interfering with iTunes installs, with that message being produced.)
If there is Kaspersky on board, we should try some general-principles getting-past-security-software-interference troubleshooting.
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (32-bit installer file) or iTunes64Setup.exe to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the install just yet.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Any better luck with the security software shut down?

  • Desperately trying to download iTunes 11.1 and have tried every suggestion I've come across in the discussions.  NOTHING works! HELP!

I'm desperately trying to download iTunes 11.1.  I have tried every single suggestion and link suggested in the discussions.  My Mac tells me I need it for my iPhone with IOS 7, to connect it.  I check for updates, then it checks, then says it's up to date but it isn't!! Still got the old iTunes! Have tried the download in www.itunes.com, I press download and 2 seconds later it says thankyou, but there's nothing there! Have tried from another link and try to open it and it says it's not recognized.  I think I'm going to go insane.  I have been trying iTunes contact but I can't get hold of them!  Does anyone know what I can do? I'm technologically challenged so I only know the basics and have NEVER had a problem with updates, downloads etc, ever!!! HELP

I just tested it (on 10.6.8) and it worked perfectly well, so it may be something on your computer. You could try creating a new user account on your Mac and using that to try downloading. You can then install on that account and it will be available on your normal one.

  • Trying to download itunes keeps saying I don't have apple application support

I am trying to download Itunes to a new computer error message that there is no apple application support!!  Any ideas??

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version). If the following link takes you to the WinRAR home page rather than the WinRAR downloads page, click the Downloads header in the box at the left of the WinRAR home page to see the trial version downloads:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I'm trying to download itunes 10.6 and it won't do anything

I keep trying to download the update for itunes (10.6) and when ever I select "download 10.6" it doesn't do anything. How can I fix this? I'm so confused :/

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does that go through any better for you?

  • Trying to download Itunes 10.7 and am getting installer error message.  Error occurs towards end of install process

I am trying to upgrade Itunes 10.7 so I can access apps for Iphone 4S.  While installing I get an error message  indicating theres is a problem with the windows installer package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Any idea how to resolve this issue?

  • I can't download itunes.  It says I am missing apple support.  What do I need to do?

When I go to download ITunes to my PC running Windows 8 it gets all the way to the end and says I am missing Apple support.  I must re-install and install again. I have done this and still no luck.  I have also tried installing through Firefox and it didn't work.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the above steps haven't helped try installing:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for a 32-bit core program, similar to previous 64-bit releases of iTunes, or roll back to:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)
    as appropriate.

  • I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."  I am the sole user- please help.

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user.   Please help.

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
    From a MS Support Engineer:
    "Hi,
    ·        Is the computer on a domain?
    ·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
    a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
    b. Select “Run as administrator”.
    Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
    Disable antivirus software
    Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 3:
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."

  • Tried to download itunes and now  my iphone does not even work.I have been on the phone with apple for 3 hours and it still won't work.I have a service pack 2 in this land computer and it won't upgrade .I do have the latest verision of itunes. Then we put

I tried to download itunes to my phone.First it wanted it to download the new itunes. We also updated our Windows xp.I kept coming up can't complete because there was an error when setting up.One time is was error 9 and they tried to help me.I have a laptop with the internet and we tried it there. We were able to get service pack 3 downloaded. So we did upgrade the itunes on the laptop even though I have never put music on there but there is some from someone .I never heard of many of the songs.Any how I did try to download and restore on the laptop and then come to the land computer and see if the box comes up to restore the  contacts.Well it didn 't work and now my phone won't even turn on .I have no one to call if something happened to me.I am going to the Apple store right off the bat tomorrow morning.I have everything in the box and the phone and reciept and see if they make it work or give me another one.I have to take my sim card again since They gave it back to me.I bet it means I can't sync the photos in the phone.Even with 2 computers and talking with 3 people it still did not work. All because I wanted to download the itunes to my phone.I don't care now if I can just get my phone to work and my contacts are in there.I hope I don't have to buy the ringtones again I bought 4 of them.Any one have this problem and what did you do to fix it?

The Apple rep tried both those ideas and both failed. The rep was connected to my computer so she
could see my screen and show me exactly what to do. My iPhone (not ipad) never has synced photos to my computer,
I have to use explorer to copy and paste or cut and paste them to my PC . It is the syncing back to my iPhone of only the much smaller selected photos that used to sync in itunes but now the itunes sync button cannot be clicked to make that happen. And the reason I only sync back selected photos is that my total PC pictures file is about 40 Gb. Also I find it a lot more useful to have a small number of folders ( no sub-folders of course) so I can quickly locate on my iPhone pictures from different categories such as family, autos, etc. None of this posed any problems for over a year until just recently. I am reading on other threads of many people with other iTunes syncing problems, and wonder now if it is the latest iTunes updates that are causing the problems? While I have tried removing and reinstalling iTunes on my PC, I don't know how or if you can, install a previous version?
