Trying to download new itunes 10 error message

At the last minute of download I keep getting error message to close itunes even when itunes is closed

i tried downloading some sort of windows cleanup tool for windows 7 64 bit and got nothing.
Could you wa;lk us through what happened (when you tried to use CleanUp) in a bit more detail please, miami?

I am trying to install the new itunes on my windows 7 64 bit pc and when its about to finish an error message pops up. Message states "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'itunes64.msi' in the box below." i go ahead and try to choose a path and it did not work. i tried with bonjour and quicktime and they all state the same message about trying to find the same type of folder. i tried going into control panel and deleting the software and same message comes up. i tried downloading some sort of windows cleanup tool for windows 7 64 bit and got nothing. I can not download new iTunes. Error message....

"This iTunes installer is intended for 32-bit versions of Windows. Please download and install the 64-bit iTunes installer instead"
But I dont know where to go to download the 64-bit installer...Please help!

It should say it is a 64bit version
If not, try a different browser..

And not to state the obvious: Error 107 usually indicates that your system doesn't meet the system requirements, so verify that.

It means you do not have enough Space on your Device and need to create More Space on Your Device by Deleting some items off your device.

Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
c. Perform the following actions
i. Right Click on Components Folder
ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
iv. Select Advanced Button
v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
ix. Select Apply
x. Select Apply again
xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?

Can't new iTunes/Quicktime - Error Message

Hi,
I've done this in a separate post b/c I didn't see anyone else with this error message. ITunes starts to download normally, but then I get this message:
"Errors encountered while performing the operation. Look at the information window for more details."
Where is the information window? There is nothing on my screen that tells me what the error is, like an error number that other people seem to have... I've tried downloading on a few separate occasions and I keep getting this message.
Thanks in advance if you can help or have suggestions.

... i can't recall having seen this particular error message before, either ... but my memory is fallible ...
just checking to see if i'm clear on your situation ... you're getting this on an itunes installation? if so, are you running the install online, or are you downloading and saving the file to your hard-drive, and then running the installation from there?
if the latter, is the error showing up during the download or the install?

Have tried to download itunes 7 and halfway through i get an error message saying
'Error 1921. Service iPod service (iPod service) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privilages to stop system services'
I am the sole user of my pc and have adminstrator usages. I run on windows XP and the original itunes on my pc was installed by the manufacturer as i bought it.
Can anybody help? Haven't got a clue what to do????!!!

that can happen sometimes if the itunes installer is having a hard time shutting down either itunes or quicktime (or applications using quicktime) prior to the install. so let's try a "download, restart, then install strategy."
leave your ipod unplugged.
download and save a copy of the itunes installer to your hard drive. (do not run the install on line, and do not start the install by clicking on the iTunesSetup.exe (installer) file just yet.)

shut down running applications and restart the PC.
do not open any other applications prior to attempting the iTunes install. switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.
does the install go through properly this time?

The 8300 is not listed in the device upgrade table for Blackberry device OS v5.0. The newer versions of apps like Twitter and Facebook require device OS v5.0 to run correctly. Might be time to consider a new device!

New itunes library error. How do I fix this?

When I try to open itunes up on my laptop the "new itunes library" error message pops up. When I plug in my itouch/iphone, itunes still doesn open. The same message pops up. I downloaded another itunes and installed it without doing anything to my original itunes, but then I get an error message stating the older version cannot be removed. HELP!?!

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
