I think we need more clarification.
What do you mean by "download"? Only updates are available as downloads, the System software has to be installed from a DVD. -
I tried to download a Bruno Mars song and it took the money from my account. Error message came up saying song temporarily unavailable, try again later. was able to download other songs tho. 24 hours later and still getting same message, How to fix?

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
Error message when trying to install snow leopard

I just tried to install snow leopard version 10.6 and get an error message mid installation that kicks the cd out of the drive and stalls. I can't complete the installation. I have a macbook pro 1,1 with 1.83 ghz processor with 1gb of ram and 25 gb of harddrive space left. i currently have version 10.4.11. any ideas about why this is happening or how to trouble shoot?See the following:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).
I suggest you backup your Tiger system, then boot from the Snow Leopard DVD, use Disk Utility to erase your hard drive, then install Snow Leopard. You can then selectively restore your files from your backup. To make this process easy be sure to create your new Snow Leopard user account with the same username that you have for your Tiger account. Any third-party software that you have you should reinstall rather than trying to copy from the Tiger backup. -

ASnow Leopard (10.6) isn't available as a download.
You buy it at the Apple Store and it ships on a DVD. Software update brings it to 10.6.8 which includes the App Store where you can download Mavericks for free. -
I have a black MacBook from 2008 and tried downloading snow leopard 10.6. It told me I had to restart my computer. However once I restarted my MacBook my touchpad and keyboard were not working so I am unable to sign in. I have no idea what the problem is
You cannot download the upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Hi, I am trying upgrade to Snow leopard 10.6.8 from 6.3(trying to install Lion). After downloading the software i m getting a message "can not install on the HD, install 6.5 before proceeding further. I coud not understand. Any suggestions, I appreciate.

Just what it says - install os 10.6.5 before proceeding further. You can either do so through Software Update or use the Combo update from Apple's download site.
You should repair permissions and restart your computer prior to updating and upgrading. -
My iPad is stuck in recovery mode. It was suggested before that I upgrade my computer, so I downloaded Snow Leopard and have tried resetting it, but it still isn't working. What can I try next?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Hold Sleep/Wake button down and slide to turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.

How/Where to download Snow Leopard?
I apologize if this has been asked before.
I'm trying to upgrade from OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). I've been putting it off for a long time, and I know my computer can handle at least as high as OS X 10.7 (Lion). But where do I go to download Snow Leopard? The physical copies of it seem to be in short supply (although earlier this year they still seemed to be relatively easy to find). I've searched the Apple Store and the support section, and I can't find a direct download. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be a very happy man.

I emptied my trash after downloading Lion and now my computer is slow. My computer tried to warn me when a screen came up a few times asking if I really wanted to delete (a) certain file(s) because in doing so it could affect other programs. I kept clicking continue because the files had been in the trash and I haven't missed them for the day since I downloaded Lion. Now I find I have to double-click on some programs to open them or some icons don't work at all. When will I learn? What do I do now?

I am trying to reinstall Snow Leopard on my iMac (Spring '08)...
I am trying to reinstall Snow Leopard on my iMac (Spring '08) and part way through the install my screen shuts off and does nothing but my computer is still running. I've turned it off, unplugged it and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I turn it back up and hold down "c" to boot from disk and the install screen pops back up. I do a disk check and it passes so I try to install again, which it says it can restore the last install's process and then begins installing again. After about 10-15 minutes my screen shuts off and goes to sleep, my mouse and keyboard will not wake it up. All I have plugged in is the mighty mouse and keyboard. This is getting frustrating...

Crashes while trying to reload Snow Leopard from the disc.
I am trying to reload Snow Leopard onto a MacBook Pro. It crashes every time I attempt it. When starting up without the disc, I get a folder with a question mark. What is wrong? When attempting to start up using the Snow Leopard disc, it crashes.
Any suggestions?The folder on the question mark is the firmware telling you it can't the bootable volume it was told to boot from.
It might not know, or it's gone or the drive is dead or some other issue it can't find it.
Hold the option/alt key down on a wired or built in keyboard and boot the machine into Startup Manager, there you can select from the bootable options if they exist or not corrupted.
Also the disk can be inserted and booted (and ejected) from here as well.
If after booting from the disk it crashes, the disk is likely bad or not compatible with that machine.
