Trying to download Trial of Photoshop CS5.1 but it is doing nothing!

Dear Adobe
I am currently trying to download the trial version of your Photoshop CS5.1 Extended and have tried to download the Adobe CS5 Standard but when I down load these they have the same reaction. They do nothing.
I have been downloading, uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe Download Assistant and tried doing the whole process again. But there is still no success.
At the start it all looks fine, it asks me to sign in to my Adobe ID to continue, I do so. Then it asks me to choose a location to put the file. I do so.
Then it says Welcome, Michelle on the top right corner. And does nothing. At the bottom of the download ribbon it still says Sign in with your Adobe ID to continue, but the thing is I already have.
I have even given it half an hour to sort itself out and do something, but it still hasnt.
I am on a Windows Vista Operating system. My laptop seems to be making sounds like its doing something....but from the looks of things there is no progress.
Someone please help me! :s

Michelle are you using a software firewall which might be preventing the Adobe Download Assistant from contacting the internet?
Beyond that I would recommend trying to initiate the download through a different web browser after removing the Adobe Download Assistant.

    Still can't get it to work - I only have one product in my download queue, Adobe Photoshop Cs5.1.
    I don't think it's paused - it never started.....underneath the download progress bar it has 'sign in with your adobe id to continue' - but I've already signed in (you can see in top right corner it's got Welcome, Ali.
    I can't press the pause button or the x button next to the download progress bar either, I thought maybe if I pause and resume - but nothing...it's just sitting there.

    whenever i try and download the trial of photoshop CS it either comes up with the adobe promtions page or the "download" button is unable to be clicked.
    How can i download the trial of photoshop CS5 without these problems?

    I would first double-check that you actually uninstalled them, usually the Adobe Application Manager checks the system to see what is currently installed, if Photoshop and Dreamweaver didn't actually get uninstalled that would explain what you are seeing.
    Don't uninstall, rather check if these products are listed here
    on Mac OS
    1. Double-click your hard drive.
    2. Go to Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers.
    on Windows
    1. Click Start > Control Panel.
    2. Click Programs and Features.
    If they didn't actually get uninstalled you should be able to convert the existing installations to be included as part of your Creative Cloud Membership using this workflow

    If they were uninstalled but something went wrong you might need to install again from the trial or use the Adobe Cleaner tool as next steps

    You can launch Adobe Application Manager from
    Applications Folder on Mac or the Start Menu on Windows to reinstall when you're ready

It wants me to pick a product to download and the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended Student and Teacher is not listed. The closest thing to download is Adobe PS CS6. Please help me

    there is no specific trial for S&T. It's just the normal program. S&T is a licensing/ pricing thing, not some technical difference.

"Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product."     They tell you which version of Camera Raw is required to support your camera. The also tell you which version of Camera Raw is compatible with your CS5 (up to version 6.7 only).
    It may be that the version of Camera Raw you need is not compatible with CS5.

    Have you tried resetting at launch (cmd+opt+shift)? That card and 10.6.6, ostensibly, should work. My older ATI 3870 on 10.6.6 works. I don't have an iMac to check with just now, but hopefully can take a look next week.

    Trying to download trial of Adobe acrobat.  After I sign in, the Adobe download assistant says:  "Error 100.  Error communicating with Adobe.com.  Check your network connection and restart Adobe download assistant.  Did that several times with the same result.

    Not sure, but sometimes you just have to wait a while (maybe even a day) and try again. The server may be down.
