Trying to export German Subtitles

We have a movie that is going to be screening in a Film Festival in Berlin, Germany, and we have German subtitles that i put in using DVD stuido pro. The ones putting on the festival just asked us to send them a movie file that would have the whole movie with the German subtitles on it. It seems simple but i am having a hard time trying to figure out how to do that since in DVD studio you can't export the Subtitles to something like final cut or export the whole thing as a movie file. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
If I understand you correctly, your client wants you to burn in the subtitle to your .mov asset, right?
The only way that you are going to do this is by extracting the subtitle from your DVD (you are right - DVDSP does not let you export the subtitle as a nice neat file) and then add it to FCP as a title into the lower third, or wherever.
There are many folk who use DVDSP to add subs and then find out later that they can't manipulate them - your best bet really is to create them externally and then import to DVDSP as a text file. You can then at least use the info in other ways if you have it in .txt format.
Have a look through the forum for 'subtitler' or 'extract subtitles' and you'll probably find a whole range of posts. Hopefully, Steve Kirkham will see this post and dive in to help - he has certainly been doing a lot of subtitles for DVD and should have a good answer for you.

I am trying to export a video I have made in FCP 10.0.8 to Youtube or to a master file and I keep on getting an error -50, or "error exporting master file at frame 20074" Any ideas?

Having used FCExpress for a while I decided to give FC Pro X a trial, I created my first video with it, exported to youtube and it worked fine. I am now trying to export my second video to youtube and I get an error -50 which means absolutely nothing. Not being defeated that easy I tried exporting to a mster file using the H.264 codec and I get an error "exporting master file at frame 20074" - again another useless error. It takes at least 10 minutes to get to this error after the rendering has started, it gets about 12% in. Any ideas where to start - I am seriously at the point of giving up with Final Cut Pro X simply on the basis of it being more trouble than its worth - I am just glad I did not pay for it yet...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec. I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app. Any ideas?

No, I did not use material with avid codec but I wanted to export to a .avi video.
2- What exactly are your clip settings and your sequence settings?
Cilp setting are HDV-1080i50

So I tried to change permissions of the Hard Disk with OS, then, one after another some windows appeared, here first of them, and a detail:
The system extension can´t be used
The system extension "/System/Library/ Extensions/ACard671xSCSI.kext" was not well instaled, the it can be used. Try to reinstal it or contact manofacturer to obtain a update.

(NOTE: there were a lot of more windows related to differents extensions, some are: "Sustem/Library/Extensions/Apple BMC.Kext"; "(...)Apple EFI Runtime.kext" , "(...) AppleEFIRuntime.Kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleEFINVRAM-kext", etc. I have almost all captured, in case you need more details I can upload the as well).
Then, I turn off the computer (because it stop working with all those pop ups windows) and next time I tried to turn it on, it never restart again ( it turn in but never start the OS), therefore I restarted from the DVD.
4- What did you do when you restarted your mac from the dvd os?
   I just installed over the OS ( advised by a mac technitian), since then...

     What format is the external drive?
I have the external disk in technical service, they will try to repair it. It was in MacPlus (registrered) format, configured in Raid 0 ( two hard disk enclosed together and working as one). Now, to recaptured the tapes for the project I have purchase another hard disk ( 1 T and configured it with MacPlus (registrered) format), this new hard disk is well detected by my computer.

Now, as I have said, I can´t open the FC Project.
I have tried to clean the user profile of FC and it doesn´t work either... need some advise..., thanks for your help!!

OEDQ 11 - error.connection.externaldatasource - While trying to export excel file into local drive

Team I am trying to export a dataset as a excel spreadsheet on to my local drive. when I ever I try to run the Export I am getting error.connection.externaldatasource error message.
Even I tried creating a excel file in my local and point that file in EDQ - Data Stores connection , still getting the same error message.

I cant copy photo's out of iPhoto, I select them all but if I want to paste them for example to my nas or a folder on my macbook, the paste option wont appear. I tried with export, didnt work either. It used to work, but now all of a sudden it wont.

I cant copy photos out of iphoto (event), I can copy them but if I want to paste them in another folder on my macbook or nas hdd, I dont have the option "paste" If I select some of the pic's it sometimes works.I also tried with export them but didnt work either.
I used to load them into iphoto manged them and then simly copied them and saved them on my nas and/or my macbook's hdd in a folder, but now it wont work. I have now thousents of photo i cant copy, its a mess....
it might be a problem with an update as I had also a mess with my music after updating to the latest itunes.

That warning sign comes up when iPhoto has broken the link/file path to the original photos. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Getting an "Internal Error" while trying to export.. Please Help??????

I am using Windows 7 with photoshop cs5 on a PC. When i try and export an image to my canon printer I get a popup telling me that an "internal error has occured". What is wierd is everything was fine before and have used it a bunch of times then all of a sudden it stopped. I have tryed to unistall photoshop then reinstall and everything. I am trying to export to a canon plugin so i can print from photoshop. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this problem. I am extremely frustrated. Thanks

Yes that is all that pops up. Its really weird. When i export it gets about half way on the progress bar then a little box pops up saying " An Internal Error..." I don't remember all the words but it is less than 5 words. Never thought it could be the plugin. How do you delete a plug in that was installed on photoshop? Thanks

What is your SGA settings? (especially streams_pool_size).
You can try to bump streams_pool_size to 100M if your current setting is below that.

Using SSRS local mode, receive invalid token error when trying to export the report when running in worker thread

We're using ASP.net with .Net 4, developing with Visual Studio 2012. We use SSRS 2012sp1 with local reports, so exporting the report ourselves instead of using a reportviewer control (and not using the SQL Reporting service). The reports are
executing fine when we export the report in the main thread, but if we spawn a worker thread and run a report there we receive the following error when calling Render():
Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Failed to load expression host assembly. Details: Invalid token for impersonation - it cannot be duplicated.
We only receive this when running a report that uses expressions on a separate thread. I've tried running the application pool under all the default built-in accounts (NetworkService, etc), and under admin user accounts to no avail.
This didn't occur with the previous version of our application which used .net 3.5.

As mentioned, we are not using the Reportviewer control, we are rendering locally. Not certain if that would make a difference.
Also, I had tried using all the built-in accounts. Just for kicks I changed it to LocalSystem again, then reset IIS (see image below). I then tried to export the report in a worker thread and received the same error.

Error while trying to export data from Solution Manager 3.1

Hello, when trying to export a project via SOLAR_MIGRATION in Solution Manager 3.1, I get the following error when trying to release the transport:
COMMUNICATION_FAILURE for RFC call SCMS_CONT_EXPORT (destination SAPKPROTP): / RfcExecProg: SAP0451.
Error in calling KPro transport server
Has anyone experienced this or have an idea how to reslove it? I opened a message through OSS and received this feedback:
sapkprotp is not available for AS/400.
In your case, sapkprotp must be started on the SAP Content Server.
sapkprotp must then be started via a SAP Gateway connection.
Please change the RFC destination of SAPKPROTP so that
the program must be started on your SAP Gateway on the content server
computer.
We currently don't have a Content Server and I would like to be able to export this project without having to install a new application on a Windows server. I would appreciate any insight you may have into this. Thank you.

If you don't have one already create a gateway instance on your Content Server.
Change or create the RFC destination : SAPKPROTP type = T
Check the radio button to start on Expicit Host
Enter the program = c:\winnt\sapkprotp.exe
Enter target host - use the hostname of the server for your Content Server
Enter the Gateway information

On my Windows environment the JRC export into PDF work perfectly. I know that there are some known issues regarding the usage of JRC on Linux environments. Could this be one of those?

What kind of image do you have in the report?
Do you have -Djava.awt.headless=true specified for the Java JVM option?

Error message when trying to export a book as PDF or trying to send it to Blurb

I'm desperatly trying to export my book as a pdf file in LR4 but I'm getting error message after rendering the 5th page (out of 85) Do you guys know why it's happening? Same error message when I try to send my book directly to Blurb (no surprise here since LR4 need to create a PDF file first....)
Do you have any suggestions?
To go around this problem, is there a way to export my book as it is (layout+ pictures (227)) to Blurb Booksmart software using the Blurb plug-in installed in LR4?
