Trying to export photos to Picasaweb--HELP!!

I would like to send albums of photos to others. People have suggested I use Picasaweb to do so. I already use gmail, so getting Picasaweb was no problem.
Here's my problem (so far): when I try to export an album to Picasaweb (by selecting an album, then clicking File>Export), when the Export dialog box pops up, it doesn't offer Picasa Web Albums as an option to export to. How do I get iPhoto to offer Picasa Web Albums as an option?
I have iPhoto 4.0.3; MacOSX 10.4.11 and a PowerPC G4 processor, if any of this matters.
Thanks for the help!

Just install the plugin (made by Google) from here:
http://picasa.google.com/mac_tools.html
Then when you try to export photos, there will be a Tab for Picasa Web Albums.
This is still working in the latest version, as of today iPhoto 8.1 (iPhoto '09).
Just one thing about the installer that won't bother most people but drove me crazy, I couldn't install it until I found out: You must have the iPhoto installed in the standard location for it to work, and I think it must be named just iPhoto, so don't rename it like I do "iPhoto 8.1" for instance.
I also like to group applications that are not part of the default Mac OS X installation in a separate folder named "Extra Applications" (to keep track of my "personal" applications, and ease new installations); anyway, that made the installer fail with no explanation.
After the Picasa plugin is properly installed, I could rename and move iPhoto as I pleased.
Note that the plugin installer also include a standalone uploader that I don't use, personally.
And BTW, I don't think there such a thing as "Picasaweb", but "Picasa Web Albums" instead.

I am trying to export photos and keep receiving an error message. I tried relocating my catalog to see if that would help since I am saving to an external drive, but now I can't find my catalog at all either. I am a newbie at this and don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I can even use an external drive for my photos and catalogs (I did enable smart previews so I do know how to do that part). Help!

You can use an external drive with LR but I recommend only using it for
image file storage while keeping your catalog on your internal HD for
performance. If you moved files outside of LR (Finder or Explorer) you will
have to clue LR in on where they are now. Use the left-hand folder panel in
Library mode to navigate to the location on your external drive and use the
find photo option get LR to reconnect them. If you moved the catalog and
now LR can't find it you should get a window allowing you to select a new
one where you can navigate to the new location and select it. You can also
just start LR by clicking on the Lightroom 5 catalog.lrcat file to open it
    and start LR.

You can transfer photos outside of iTunes. I do it all the time. THat said, i have a 50/50 success rate with them. I'd avoid sandisk and kingston, their bundled software triggers the 'too much power' warning.
I've had mixed luck with lexar, some work, some don't.
I did have good luck with an older 4 gig geek squad one.
Look for drives without software on them, without bright LED lights and I haven't gotten any larger than 4 gig to work, but that may just be me.
For a less troublesome way? h onestly, I use a SD card that I've formatted with the DCIM folder. I've never had one of them trigger the 'too much power' warning. Just make sure they're not SDXC. those don't work.

  • Trying to export photos to usb and get a message that says "there is not enough space to complete that operation". What does that mean?

I'm trying to export photos to usb and keep getting this message, "There is not enough disk space to complete that operation".  The usb is almost completely empty.  Is the problem with the library?

No - it is with the FAT format on the USB that has a very limited number of root tems - select the phtoos in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder (see the user tip on exporting for the options available) then using the finder drag that folder to the mounted, unlocked USG drive

  • Iphoto stops responding when trying to export photos

I'm trying to prepare my photos from my summer holiday for the internet by using the Share>Export feature and letting the program resize them while I'm at it. The first batch worked perfectly, I resized some 250 photos, however I'm not able to finish the rest since Iphoto stops responding everytime I try to export photos. It doesn't matter if they are 20 or 200, it always stops responding and I have to force quit it. Does anyone know what the problem is and if it is fixable?

Right click on one of the photos and reveal in finder - what happens?
Is there any change a file with the same name as you are trying to create in the location your are exporting to (if so export to a new folder)

    Sorry, that's terribly unclear.
Is it crashing with BOTH the script and File > Export?
Is your script using exportFile or asynchronousExportFile?
If it crashes manually, have you tried disabling asynchronous exports per Re: Background PDF export Help?

  • Getting an "Internal Error" while trying to export..  Please Help??????

I am using Windows 7 with photoshop cs5 on a PC.  When i try and export an image to my canon printer I get a popup telling me that an "internal error has occured". What is wierd is everything was fine before and have used it a bunch of times then all of a sudden it stopped.  I have tryed to unistall photoshop then reinstall and everything.  I am trying to export to a canon plugin so i can print from photoshop.  Any one have any ideas on how to fix this problem.  I am extremely frustrated.  Thanks
    Josh

    Chris,
Yes that is all that pops up.  Its really weird.  When i export it gets about half way on the progress bar then a little box pops up saying " An Internal Error..."  I don't remember all the words but it is less than 5 words.  Never thought it could be the plugin.  How do you delete a plug in that was installed on photoshop?  Thanks

  • Iphoto crashes when trying to export photos

When I try to export photos from iphoto the program crashes.

Trash the HP Plug in from /Library/Application Support/iPhoto
There are two libraries where this plugin might be
    HD/ Library
    and
    HD/Users/Your Name / Library
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
    Or
This one is inside the Application itself.
    Path:            /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/MacOS/iPhoto
So: Applications folder and find iPhoto.app. Right click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A Finder window will open at the Contents folder. Within that you'll find the Plug-ins folder.

  • I bought LR 5 on Oct 16, 2014. I just tried to export photos with watermark and it wont work. After reading tutorials and following directions, only a few photos out of 100 show up with watermark, but not everytime. Is this a bug and how does it get fixed

I bought LR 5 Oct 16 this year. Why doesn't my watermark work when I export photos? I followed tutorials and still it does not work. Once, a few photos out of about 100 exported with the watermark, but only once. Is this a bug? how to fix?  Also, how to I get rid of unwanted presents?

Are you exporting as JPG or TIFF or PSD?
Any other format (including "Original") will not show a watermark.

  • Aperture freezes when trying to export photo

I can't even "force close" the program, I have to turn off the computer!
Try to send a signal from the Terminal, as described in this user tip:
If Aperture is unresponsive, how to quit?
Everytime I edit a photo in Aperture, the program freezes when I try to export the photo.
    What is your Aperture version?
Have you tried any trouble shooting steps?
First of all check, if you have enough free disk space for the export. The oprating system needs working space in addition to the size of the of the exported image file. Keep at least 10GB free.
Where are you exporting to? To a folder on your system drive or an external drive? Do you have write permissions on that folder?
Try to repair your Aperture library - see this Manual page:
Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
If repairing the database  does not help, try "repair permissions" as well, and finally "Rebuild".  Make a backup of your library, before trying to rebuild.

  • Error when trying to export photos

I downloaded the trial version of LR, version 1.3.1, and i'm using it on a desktop PC with Windows XP SP2.
After importing and then editing 15 NEF pictures, i try to export them as JPGs to a newly created folder on my hard drive. However, when i attempt this i get a dialog box containing an error message that says 'An error occurred while exporting. 15 photos failed to export.' Within this box, there is also two buttons i can click on; one that says 'Ignore', and another that says 'Show In Library'. No pics show up in the new folder, and clicking on either button doesn't do anything either.
Am i doing something wrong? Or is this a bug of some sort? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

At the risk of sounding silly, I don't know how exactly to check if LR has write access to the folder or not. How do you do it?
I right-clicked on the new folder i created, clicked on Properties, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Under Attributes the box for 'Read Only' is checked, while the one for 'Hidden' is not, which is how all the other folders on my PC are set up, and i've never encountered a problem like this before.
It's a shame this issue cropped up, because everything else in regards to using LR was very smooth, easy, and straightforward.

  • Trying to export photos with exposure adjustments from iphoto

I made colour adjustments and exposure changes in iphoto, then exported to the library, for preparation to upload to my preferred photo hosting site, but the exposure and colour changes were not kept after exporting, is there a setting to allow this?

When you export the original you get the original - that is exactly what the camera took, the "original" - so that has no edits or other changes
If you export as a JPEG you get the current version
It may or may not be the same resolution as the original depending on what edits you have done

When I bring up the photo processor's website and click on folder (within their website) it opens a window to select where I want to select my photos from, but my choices are "grayed" out. iphoto isn't even listed. I can't just email them the photos, they have their own application to submit photos. I'm new so do I need to unlock something within iphoto or save the photos somewhere else? Thanks in advance for any assistance!!!

Look toward the lower left of the window and click on media then on iPhoto - this will give you access to your photos
An alternative is to export the photos to a desktop folder and upload them from there and then delete the desktop folder
