Trying to export/share in a format readable by Powerpoint2010 when insert video

Using Premier 11 Elements...... I'm trying to export/ share videos to my computer, then trying to insert them into a Powerpoint slide. It works fine if I use a raw WMV format straight from the camera, but they need editting. I'm doing the editing enhancing sound etc in Premier11 Elements, but when I "share' I can't find how to save as a .wmv format??
When I choose Share>Computer> I end up with MP4 files or XMPSES files... all will not function when inserted into Powerpoint. I get a message "media unavailable" after pasted. Or sometimes the message "Powerpoint cannot insert" this file format.
How do I export as a .wmv?? the help info available says Premier 11 elements should do this!?

If you want to take your Premiere Elements 11 Expert workspace Timeline to the 1920 x 1080 .wmv file for PowerPoint, the export from the following should insert into your PowerPoint 2010 nicely:
Publish+Share
Computer
Windows Media
with Presets = 720 x 480 16x9 29.97
Then under the Advanced Button/Video Tab, the essentials are:
Video codec = Windows Media Video 9
Encoding passes = Two
Bitrate Mode = Variable Unconstrained
Frame Width = 1920 pixels
Frame Height = 1080 pixels
Frame Rate = 29.97 frames per second
Pixel Aspect Ratio = Square Pixels (1.0)
The default "Average Video Bitrate" appears to be 1500 Kbps (kilobits per second). You can experiment with that later if necessary, finding the compromise between Bitrate, quality, and file size.
By the way, the installation of QuickTime is a requirement for working with Premiere Elements. The first sign of its absence is its presets missing from the Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime. Typically the program requires being run Run As Administrator or from a User Account with Administrative Privileges.

JPEG2000 for a digital projector? The option you see in Compressor, or the QT export is NOT the format they need. You can only make that with special software. I had that asked of me to deliver, I tried using Compressor and the JPEG2000 codec...and it wasn't right. Ended up sending it out of house.

How to export/share to a format with alpha channel ?

Hi there,
I have a video clip recorded in greenscreen.
I have applied some keyer effects & the background is now excellent bcos it is transparent.
But when I export it, the resultant file shows the back as a solid color, it ain't transparent anymore !
How do I get a file with the background transparent ?

Historical Report - export report in excel format

Hi,
We are on UCCX 8.0 (SU2). We have an issue with Historical when we tried to export report in excel format, the report does not display in correct column. It's very confusing. We could manually correct (rearrange) the column label but it take lots of time as we have so many reports.
Is there anyway to fix this issue? Does anyone experience the same issue with Historical Report?
I attached the pictures for example.

This type of behavior is a bug. I took a look in the bug toolkit and there are several defects filed against the Agent Summary report in 8.0 but not one that matches this behavior. I would venture a guess that a DE was sloppy when fixing another bug and introduced this on us.
You should open a TAC case on this. It is also possible that this defect already exists but is not public in the toolkit yet.

Exporting HD video clips from Final Cut Pro in a format readable from IPad

There are many ways to convert mp4 formatted videos into a file that can be sent to IPad via Itune and be read by IPad. However, my problem is that my videos are in a format 16 x 9 and the IPad screen is near 4 x 3 format and the pictures of my videos are squeezed horizontally.
Which application could help me creating a letter box stype with black bands on top and bottom of the IPad screen so that I can have my 16 x 9 dimension of the picture kept correctly?

Whatever your output from Final Cut, if you open in Quicktime and export or share and select Apple TV (iPad), your video shouldl be exported in a format playable on iPad.

Just for background, in what format are you exporting your images? Also, are you able to export them to your hard drive in your chosen format? I haven't tried exporting directly to CD, but if you're able to export to hard drive and copy to CD, that may be one solution.

Trying to export to .swf but keep getting an .html format file

Surprise surprise, I'm confused again.
I am trying to export a Keynote '08 slide presentation to .swf to enable it to play in my web site. When I look at the exported files, it has the .swf extension but the info for the file shows it as a html document. when I upload it, it won't play and I get the message that QuickTime can not open that file type.
Any ideas please?

SWF stands for Small Web Format and, nowadays, is used to embed a flash video into a browser viewable document.

The .html file simply contains the link to the .swf document so you will need both the files to view the presentation inside a browser, i.e. open the html and you will be presented with the video.
I know that some .swf play directly but the right way is to use the html file or better, it's possible to make a swf self running but not all the applications act this way.
Don't forget that without the flash player browser plugin the file will not be visible.

UnknownExportFormat when trying to export Excel format

Hi, I'm getting UnknownExportFormatException when trying to export the crystal report to Excel format. But I can export the
report to Word, PDF or RTF without any problem.
The manifest file of the CrystalReportsRuntime.jar has below information.

We export it from java servlet. But we used ReportExportFormat._MSExcel (which is constant value 2 defined in crystal report SDK) for excel export. As I looked at your code sample in JSP page, I changed the "Excel" value from 2 to 6 which is ReportExportFormat._recordToMSExcel as in the sample code
We have this code snippet to set the export options.     (No change)
             ExportOptions exportOptions = new ExportOptions();
             exportOptions.setExportFormatType(ReportExportFormat.from_int(exportType.getId()));
             exportOptions.setFormatOptions(formatOptions);
And now CRExportType enum is defined as below with value changed from 2 to 6 for Excel.

By ExportPDF service do you mean the AP that converts formats? I have that AP all bought and paid for. That’s the thing that gagging on my file.
The error msg. was “File failed to be converted using Adbobe ExportPDF online.”
I’m not sure what you’re talking about when you suggest using Acrobat

Trashed preferences too.
Finally, I took your advice and backed-up my events and projects.
Trashed Final Cut Pro X
Downloaded a new copy from FCPX from the app store (from my previous purchases)
Restarted FCPX
Opened my event
Moved to the timeline - and now!
The SHARE tab works!
Every aspect of FCPX is working faster as well.
Go figure?

Share/export to wmv-9 format stops at 2-3 meg file size???

I cant seem to export/share a movie created in IMovie using the quicktime option and sharing it as a wmv-9 format. It stops after a minute or so and does only a short amount of the whole movie,2-3 megs, I don't have QTPro and wonder is the basic version has a limit on the output size of the wmv file? OR if I upgrade to PRO will it do the whole movie, 10 minutes in size??? I hate to have to convert to avi then go to a pc and convert to wmv..as I need a wmv as final output!

You must be using the flip4mac software to even be able to export to Windows Media Player format.
It requires QT Pro and only exports up to 30 seconds when used in "trial" mode.
