Trying to Export with new codec freezes Quicktime pro 7.6.6

I have just updated Quicktime pro to version 7.6.6 and I am trying to export a .m4v to .mov to bring into FCP. I have done this a thousand times in the past with no problem. Now, however, when I click on File>Export>Options>Settings...the program freezes until I am forced to force quit. I have done this 7 times in a row with the same result. I have version 7.6.4 on my laptop and everything is working just fine. Anyone else having this issue...should I try to revert to my old QT (and how could I)? Any insight would be great. I have a project due soon and would love to convert the necessary files I need to finish! Thanks in advance for any and all help!

  • Export H264 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?

Using QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows, I add a text track with closed captions to my H264 .mp4 videos.
The text track works great until I try to export it.  After I've added the text track, the text track is displayed as long as the track is selected to be active using the Movie Inspector track GUI.
My movies are encoded as H264 for cross-platform compatibility, and need to remain in this format.  The only way to save them in QuickTimePro 7 for Windows is to Export Movie to MPEG-4.  I select Pass-Through mode to retain the resolution and bandwidth parameters that I initially encoded the video with.
Unfortunately, after I export to MPEG-4, the caption track is lost.  It disappears.  When I open the newly exported MPEG-4 caption file, and select Movie Inspector, the caption track is missing.  Inspector only shows video and audio tracks.
If QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows correctly exported my text track with the video and audio tracks, then users would be able to view the closed captions upon playback in QuickTime Player by selecting View--> Show Closed Captioning (Ctrl+Alt+T).
Anyone been able to export to MPEG-4 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?
    Thank you!

  • F9 or file-new-title freezes premiere pro v2.0

f9 or file-new-title freezes premiere pro v2.0.  So I have installed it new on a dell precision 670 xeon 3.6ghz, 3 gig ram, 500gighd.  I formatted the hd installed wxpsp3, installed adobe premiere pro v2.o and everything was working fine.  One week later the user can not use f9 or hit new title without freezing the program and hitting esc. to get out of trying to create title to use ppro.  I have ran repair and it does not work.  No new updates have been inistalled.  I have top uninstall and install fresh each time.  Help please I do not use this I just install over and over and over.

The freeware, FontFrenzy, will help detect corrupt fonts, and can repair some. I use Extensis Font Doctor, not freeware, and it does a good job.
By chance, do you have SunMicro System's Open Office? If so, uninstall the Deja Vu font, and try again. It, and some others, just do not play well with Titler, even when most other Adobe programs have zero issues.
    Good luck,

Problems importing AVI with DV codec to Premiere Pro  (720x564 px, 32 kHz stereo, 24.4 bitrate)
I can't import that video. What can I do?

    Svanur,
I agree with Harm. The specs. do not match up correctly. Where did those AVI files come from?
I assume that you are working in PAL-land (and not NTSC-land). Is that correct?
What platform are you working on, Mac, or PC?
When you attempt to Import those AVI files, what is the exact error message that you are getting?
    Good luck,

  • Trying to export to new library WITHOUT consolidating masters

I am trying to export a project as a new library and I DO NOT want the masters to be included.
But when I export->project as new library and then UNCHECK "consolidate masters into new library" the raw files are still copied over, making the new library very large so I am unable to put it in Dropbox.
The original library is managed. This seems like a bug, since exporting with or without the consolidate option checked makes a library of the same size with the raw files in both.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

So, the controlling issue here is 'referenced' vs 'managed' Masters. From the manual:
"If your project contains referenced images and you want the master files available to the new Aperture system: Select the “Consolidate masters into exported project” checkbox to copy the original master image files into the new library file."
It doesn't say explicitly, but implies, that unchecking that checkbox allows you to make a new library file without copying the original image files into the new library file. This is in fact how it works in my testing.
Notice it only mentions referenced images. What it doesn't say, but is in fact the case, is that if the images are 'managed' i.e., contained in the library package file, then selecting "Consolidate master into exported project" makes no difference. The original master image files get copied into the new library file whether you want them to or not. This is what happens when I test.
I've confirmed the difference between the two scenarios by selecting my project, going to File, "relocate masters for project...." and moving my master RAW's out of the library and into a folder elsewhere. After doing this, I again select the project, choose "export -> Project as New Library" and it works as expected: I can deselect the "Consolidate..." option and a library is made WITHOUT the Master Raws.
So apparently this behavior when masters are 'managed' is not a bug, it's designed to be that way. This makes no sense whatsoever.
    1. Why have the checkbox for consolidating if it doesn't do anything?
    2. Why NOT let you create a new library file WITHOUT copying the original master image files, JUST AS YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO WHEN YOUR MASTER FILES ARE REFERENCED outside the original library?
So the solution is: Do not ever use Managed files. I would have thought that there would be some benefit to having the files stored in the aperture library, but apparently there are actually LESS features available. (All my RAWs are in their own file structure on my RAID in my tower and therefore referenced, but I assumed that it would be easier to just have them be managed on my laptop.)
Always use referenced files on every system and I am then able to transfer projects back and forth between systems without being forced to include the large RAWs.
Thanks for all the input, and if anyone has any insight into whether my conclusions are correct or why this might be so, I'd be grateful to hear it.

  • " 3 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more information"  I have searched and I have tried the solutions on the forum. My iPhone has been successfully synced without error and I am trying to sync with new laptop.

" 3 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more information"  I have searched and I have tried the solutions on the forum. My iPhone has been successfully synced previously on my mac mini without error. I am trying to sync my iPhone with new MacBook Pro.

Modular77:  With respect the dialog on the iPhone 'XX items could not be synced.  See iTunes for more information.' , would you happen to know where to look in iTunes?  I looked in all the places that seemed logical to me.
I am, however, asking only for future reverence, as the initial sync which generated the error dialog was done via USB, and almost immediately after the USB sync, I ran a WiFi Sync—two in a row in fact—both initiated from the iPhone.  Both WiFi syncs completed successfully with no error dialog.
I then ran another USB sync initiated from iTunes on the Macintosh, as was the first sync which gave the error. This second USB sync also completed successfully with no errors.
I think someone in this thread mentioned non-AppleStore products or DMR issues which I think could not have been an issue in my case, as I was running the sync to install updated Apps from the AppStore, and additionally had deleted some music and movie items to make sure there was room for the App updates. Nothing was added other than the recently downloaded App updates from the AppStore.
    iPhone3GS  iOS 5.1.1 build 9B206.
              Developer Profile enabled.  iCloud enabled.
32 GB “disk.” About 1.5 GB free after sync.
              iPhone NOT jailbroken
MacBook 13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008 (NOT Macbook Pro)
         Lion 10.4.7 build 11E53.  2 GB RAM.
Thanks for any info or advice.  Problem IS now solved, but it absorbed a lot of time to reach that point.

  • Problems with mpeg2 codec for quicktime

I just downloaded the mpeg2 codec for quicktime and installed it. My computer doesn't recongnize it and I still can't play mpeg2 clips. When I check the video codecs installed on my computer, the mpeg2 codec doesn't appear in the list even if I did install it. I'm using windows XP. What can I do?

The QuickTime MPEG2 Component comes with an installer. Did the installer run? Did it show any errors?
It is working for me in QuickTime on Windows XP.
Note: Even with this component there are some limitations. It cannot play AC3 sound tracks. It should however be able to play MPEG2 video from .m2v or .vob or .mpg files.

  • Error message ''Disk Full' when trying to export with CS6, works fine in 5.5

I get an error message when I try to export media in Premiere CS6 that I don't have in CS5.5
I use export media for a AVCHD 60fps sequence with a few photoshop images on top of the main track. In the export settings I choose ''match sequence settings'' which gives me a .mpeg I- frame, 1920 x 1080 P, 60fps, quality 50, and a I tick the ''use maximum render quality'' check box at the bottom.
It used to work fine but now I get a message: Disk Full where there is 1.5 TB free on the disk?
I have the exact same sequence made in Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and it exports fine.
It started to act weird after I used the queue for the first time and it went to the CS6 encoder.
Since I used that once and it gave me that message for the first time, even when I try to do the same thing directly in Premiere CS6 , I always get the same error message.
Question 2, is there a place to change the settings from 50 to 100 for the quality of this export profile?
By the way I can export with other profiles without problems but this setting is the only one that I've seen that lets me keep my 60 frames per second in the export
process. (Example: I can export this sequence in the H.264, 1920 x 1080, 30fps, high quality preset, using the maximum render quality in CS6)

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the input but if you read my message correctly and until the end I already can export to other settings and I want an answer to this problem. There's no logical explanation to why this suddenly wouldn't work with the same sequence that it used to do fine with and that CS 5.5 handles fine.
As I said earlier this is the only setting that lets me export my sequence with the 60 fps, that I know of, for further and easier manipulation. As my main camera provides me with these 60 fps I'd really like to be able to have them left in that transition phase and, no, I'm not gonna give up until I know, really, what's going on and solve that problem. If this is a bug it needs to be fixed, if not I want to know what's happening.
Also there's no answer to my question 2: Question 2, is there a place to change the settings from 50 to 100 for the quality of this export profile?
So for you experts out there the question is still hanging.

  • No response when trying to export with fcpx

Just updated to Mavericks. Everything worked fine before then.
So I finished my project , go to export, and no response. When I try and export to vimeo or you tube I get this error -
"The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)"
Its not a camera import issue. I actually made another project with clips that I know to have exported, with no problem. And again, there is no response when I  export project.
And I can't uninstall fcpx because I have clips saved to the program. And hard drive is dead.
    Thank you for your help!

    CClips aren't inside the application.
What version are you using? older versions don't work with 10.9.

  • Unable to use 'copy' feature with registered version of quicktime pro.

    Hi.
I have a registered version of Quicktime pro (7.1.6), and i am unable to use the copy feature. I captured several videos from work using a windows box and an application whose name escapes me at the moment. Due to the windows app being garbage, i was only able to capture in MPEG1 format (MPEG2 caused the app to crash, of course). I have brought the files home and am now unable to copy selections of it for exporting into smaller files. I can highlight lengths of the video (no audio, just video) but the 'copy' feature is grayed out still. Any ideas on what is causing this? The video format is as follows:
    MPEG1 Muxed, 640 x 480
    FPS: 29.97
    Data rate: 4066.42 kbits/sec
I'm running 10.3.9, but have also had no success on a 10.4 macmini, so the OS doesn't seem to be the issue.
I'm trying to get this video into imovie, but since it's over 600 megs, imovie cops out after a few hours and says it can't import it.
    Help?

Not all multiplexed videos come with AC3. They don't have to have audio in the first place. Some of them come with Linear PCM, which is the case for iDVD's VOB files, and MP2. If a multiplexed video is equipped with AC3, you are right, and the resulting modified sub-clip won't contain audio. But if it's Linear PCM or MP2, the edited sub-clip will contain audio.
    I'm finished with this case.

  • Help with Automator Script for QuickTime Pro Movie Conversion from Vado

All my videos from my Creative Vado do not show up in iMovie 09 initially on import. By trial and error, I have discovered that the old version of QuickTime Pro 7 ($29.95) will convert them to .mov files that can be seen by iMovie 09 once the converted videos are imported back into iPhoto.
I am (very) new to mac things, and it looks like in theory I could use Automator to handle to conversion process, and perhaps even the re-import into iPhoto. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? Where would be a good site to post this as a project that I could pay some one to help me, provide an automator script/workflow?
Are any other solutions available? Buy Final Cut etc?
PS (Rant): One of the reasons I bought a MacBook Pro and iLife was to take advantage of what I thought was supposed to be Apple's superior multimedia handling. It seems ludicrous to me that with a MacBook Pro running the latest software (10.6.4), and using the latest versions of iLife, I'd have to buy an old version of QuickTime to convert my videos so that I could manipulate them in iMovie. Sigh.

MPeg Stram clip will export files which are compatible with iMovie '09. It (iMovie )can import the following.
    DV
    AIC
    Motion-JPEG
    Photo-JPEG
    MPEG-4 (Supported profiles)
    H.264 (Supported profiles)
    Apple Animation (Movie '09 only)
    Apple Video (iMovie '09 only)
iMovie '08/'09 will not accept files containing extraneous data tracks such as:
    'Tween
    Text
    Chapter
    Closed Caption
    Secondary audio such as AC3
    etc.
iMovie '08/'09 Will not accept files that rely on proprietary/third-party components such as
    DivX
    WMV
    XviD
    etc.

  • Graphite Airport with new MacBooks and MacBook Pros

We have a mobile lab that is using some old dual USB iBooks with a graphite airport base station. The iBooks are connecting to the base station without a problem and getting on the internet. In the next room over, a teacher with a MacBook is trying to get online with the same base station. The MacBook can see the Airport, but it will not receive an IP via DHCP. I've taken my own MacBook Pro over to the base station as well and the airport icon blinks on and off for my own machine.
Is this a compatibility issue with the Intel based laptops with airport extreme trying to connect to an old graphite base station?

If you believe the problem might be in the network settings, I am happy to let you compare yours to my working ones.
When the MacBook is connected to the Graphite base station's network:
    System Preferences > Network > Show: AirPort > TCP/IP
    . Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
. IP Address: 10.0.1.x (provided by the base station as DHCP server)
. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 (provided by the base station as DHCP server)
. Router: 10.0.1.1 (provided by the base station as DHCP server)
    . DHCP Client ID: (blank)
    . DNS Servers: (blank)
. IPv6 Address: (string of hexadecimals)(self-assigned by MacBook)
    System Preferences > Network > Show: AirPort > TCP/IP > Configure IPv6
    . Configure IPv6: Automatically
. IPv6 Address: (string of hexadecimals)(assigned by MacBook)
    . Router: (blank)
System Preferences > Network > Show: AirPort > PPPoE
    . (everything unchecked)
System Preferences > Network > Show: AirPort > Proxies
    . Configure Proxies: Manually
. Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV) checked
    . (everything else unchecked)
System Preferences > Network > Show: Network Port Configurations
. AirPort is third on the list and checked.
. (FireWire and Ethernet are the first two.)
. (I currently have no FireWire or Ethernet connection.)
System Preferences > Network > Show: Network Status
. "AirPort is connected to the network (name). You are connected to the Internet via Airport."
In AirPort Admin Utility, version 4.2:
(Select base station) > Configure > Network
    . Distribute IP Addresses (checked)
. AirPort client computers: Share a single IP address (using DHCP and NAT) (selected)
    . (everything else unselected)
Please note that the AirPort Utility that comes with new MacBooks cannot configure a Graphite base station.
I can't think of anything else that would be relevant to whether the base station supplies an IP address to a wirelessly connected MacBook, but you are welcome to ask about other settings.
If the problem with the MacBook Pro is in the network settings and not a result of interference, the only thing I can think of is a possible DHCP conflict. Please make sure "Enable AirPort to Ethernet bridging" is turned off in AirPort Admin Utility.

  • Export as MPEG2 Option In Quicktime Pro 7.1.2

In older versions of quicktime pro there was an option to 'export -> movie to mpeg2'.
I'm on an intel core duo imac, mac os 10.4.7, quicktime 7.1.2, with Final Cut Studio 5 and the latest updates installed.
I am under the impression that the necessary quicktime mpeg 2 encoder is part of the dvd studio pro 4 install.
What am I doing wrong? I'd like to have the mpeg2 export right out of quicktime pro...am I asking too much? Does Apple just want me to run Compressor for all of my mpeg2 needs?
My 'Library -> Quicktime' does not have any "mpeg2" compenents listed...which I would have assumed would be installed with the DVD studio pro install. I try to re-install just dvdsp, but nothing.
    Thanks in advance!

    Grant:
It's no longer included in the Studio and as far as I know, there is no way to get it as standalone.

  • How to export/watch .avi files using Quicktime Pro

    Hi there.
I've got Quicktime Pro and I'm trying to convert .avi files so I can play them on my iPhone. I open up the .avi file in Quicktime and then slect the Movie to iPhone option.
It will take about 20 mins or so, but when I open the file all I get is a white screen even though the timer is showing that the movie is playing.
I can't even watch .avi files using Quicktime as all I get is a black screen.
    Could someone please help?
    Thanks

Thanks, but unfortuntately that didnt work. MPEG Streamclip couldn't play any of the .avi files, it still came up with a white screen while playing.
I tried this with a number of .avi files but I had the same problem.
